Watched the 1st set, actually the first bit of tennis I’ve watched in….a decade?

Forgot what a great game it is to watch. Maybe because I’m not knowledgeable of the game, but the graphics they have now add to the viewing, unlike so many in other sports I find irrelevant.

Wish it wasn't on during work hours but pumped to hear Jessica is on to the Final Four!  Really hoping her next matches will be on at night

Pretty sure next match will be a Primetime slot (maybe Thu night)?

I thought Jessie looked dialed in, in the mixed doubles matches that were held before the regular draw. Her partner let her down. Her serve and volley game is built for the hard courts.

Hoping this is the year she can add a grand slam singles title to her resume.

I was excited when you said this and in the back of my mind I knew something didn't feel right and then I realized that's also the NFL opener that night 😡

  • zow2 changed the title to 2025 U.S. Open - **update Jessica Pegula (4 seed) now in semifinals

So what's the deal with Sabalenka, has Pegula ever beaten her?

Is Jess the tennis equivalent of the Buffalo Bills and Sabalenka the KC Chiefs...and this is like the AFCCG?

Aryna Sabalenka leads Jessica Pegula 7-2 in their lifetime head-to-head, with Sabalenka having won the last three matches, including finals at the 2024 US Open and 2025 Miami Open, and a recent match at the 2024 Cincinnati Open. Pegula's wins include the 2020 Western & Southern Open and the 2023 WTA Finals.

The tough part about Thursday is that Sabalenka got a walk-over today, so she will be well-rested.

What is a walk-over?

The other player was injured, I guess, and so you automatically get through to the next round.

Analogy is pretty much spot on.

It was really odd. They showed her in her first few minutes of warmups and she hit a forehand and had a strange twinge. It was the last ball she hit. As curious as I am, I won’t speculate on what that was. I wish her well.

#8 Animosov beats #2 Swiatek on the NFC side of the bracket.  Jessica's path gets easier to win the SB if she get by the Chiefs tomorrow.
