Injuries are killing us and we can't even get out of camp. AND we still need a Safety and WR.  The Baltimore game isn't looking good.

Get a grip, dude!  🙄

The injuries the Bills have suffered are more numerous than we'd like to have but not nearly as significant as some other teams have suffered.  No projected starter has suffered a season-ending injury so far.  No projected starter is expected to miss months of the regular season, either.  Hairston's knee is the worst one so far, and he should be back to practicing before the season starts.

I wonder if healthy, Hancock could play his way over Bishop in this last preseason game?

If i could,  I'd bet he's the starter by mid-season,  he seems to have great instincts and pursuit,  just needs to perfect the playbook

I was a big fan of his as a Redskin , still optimistic about him , he can do it all and flashed in the playoffs . Could be a true weapon,  hopefully

Wouldn’t that be a blessing if that safety spot became less of a concern!  I’m certainly not giving up on Bishop, but he needs to be available and look ready to play mistake-free football before I can relax with him back there. Most guys are listed as CB or safety, but Hancock is a DB on the Bills roster.

Serious question…..What would have been gained there? I suspect they know what they’re doing and they have better info than we have regarding the injury and their plans for him. This may be part of keeping him hidden and on the Bills for one more year and see what he can offer then….but what do I know?  🤷‍♂️

The only thing that would have been gained is another available training camp roster spot.  The Bills have released some players who were doing OK, because they had needs for other positions and were up against the 90 man limit.

But I agree, they know what they're doing, and they might have wanted to keep him available in case of injury to other OLmen.

Sensing Max will probably go on IR to start the season and be out for the early part of the season as he can barely even move his right leg on the stationary bike. Not sure what they do with SVPG? Season ending IR as he hasn’t practiced at all. He must have torn his calf muscle to be out this long.

With the amount of injuries at WR and S, it would seem wise that six/seven WR’s will make the roster and assuming either Forest or Cam will make the roster at S.

Also, if Bass isn’t 100% does he start the season on IR as well?

So many question marks with our current state of injuries and  how it will impact the roster at the start of the season.

I'm thinking the team thought he'd be healthy prior to end of camp, toss in his injury happened precamp which made him only PUP eligible, If we put him on IR now it's either for the season or designated to return but you can only make 2 such distinctions I believe for the entire season and I wouldn't waste that on a 2nd string player tbh.

100% agree. Put him on IR for the year. He is on the roster for 2026 not this year.

Why would they do that rather than PUP?  There are only 2 IR designated to return that you can use prior to 53 man cut down.  PUP seems like the right move no?

They may be saving those two spots for Harriston & Samuel. He would just go on IR & be done for the year.

Then why not just PUP SVG?  That’s original method for keeping someone with an injury off the 53 but getting them back later. The 2 IR spots are sorta new. The problem with PUP is they can’t practice all preseason cause they are injured. But SVG qualifies for that (cause he’s still on the PUP now). So why IR him?

The rule was changed to allow 8 players in regular reason and 10 players totally if the team makes playoff.

Thanks for this I did not know that... appreciate you.

That or keep Bass on active roster and sign another kicker to practice squad and call him up if think Bass will be ready in less than 4 weeks.

I am getting the sense that:

- SVPG will go to IR and end his year

- Max with start of IR designated to return and miss the first 4 weeks

Why not PUP!!!?  Hes already on PUP and he can return (or end his year part way through the season whenever the deadline).  Why change his status when his current status keeps him off the 53 but lets him come back if necessary.  Tre white 2022 was pup the whole time til he came back.  Didnt hit the 53 until activated.

Not sure where to put it.

  • Shakir might be back for practice next week, maybe end of this week
  • Bass is set to kick on Bucs preseason game this Saturday
  • Alec Anderson, Samuel, Shaq Thompson, and Bass will be back for limited practice today
  • McGovern and Cam Lewis will be limited today too
  • Hancock might not play this Saturday

Great. Thank you!

Excellent way to do this--with the facts, and then the additional details, analysis by those following the team. Helps to make the injury situation very clear.

But now you are assigned to do these  from here on out.  i don't think there is anyone who does these regularly, or like this, but I may be mistaken.

Thanks for doing this now and in advance, for the rest of the season!

for SVPG you’re probably right. There really isn’t too much difference in terms of ability to reactivate them from both PUP and IR once the season starts I’ll be 4 games minimum. I used IR as a blanket term but pup is more accurate for his situation.

That said, he’s been out for weeks. It’s possible it’s something lingering and they shut him down for the whole year.

Either way my point was that idt either player will be on the 53 at cut downs

So much for 1st rd CB starting week 1

I was not a fan of this pick. I just get the feeling Beane blew another "never draft for need "pick.  Since all the 1st rd. DTs were gone, could he have traded down a few spots , picked up a 3rd and had 3 2nd picks?  I think so and then taken one or 2 of the handful of DBs picked later who will likely have Tariq Woolen type of careers.

IDK, I just get the feeling this kid's gonna always be hurt.
