Chandler#81 Posted August 12 Posted August 12 We were starved for improvement and gifted this Dallas castoff with the Key to the City. Say what you will, he provided thrills and could break a game wide open! #HOF 1 1 1 Quote
boyst Posted August 12 Posted August 12 I'll never forget finding out about him. I fell asleep in one of the farm trucks (a 93 S10) with the radio on Sirius. I was watching to make sure some wildfires I set to scrap wood and brush didn't go crazy. I woke up as I heard them talking about it being in complete disbelief 2 Quote

thenorthremembers Posted August 12 Posted August 12 The fact that he wasn't a first ballot hall of famer is one of the biggest travesties in NFL history. Top ten in every important recieving stat all time, but isnt a first ballot hall of famer, give me a break. 7 Quote

Bills fan since 87 Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Got a stitched TO ugly early 2000's jersey in the collection, still. Couldn't stand the dude prior, but once I found out he was coming to Buffalo I loved it. For a moment the spotlight was on us, the irrelevant era had firmly set in, so it felt good. He did have a pretty decent season for us. Had a good listen with him on WGR like 5 or 6 years ago, with Jeremy and Howard. TO recalled his year hear fondly. Quote
Lost Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Always felt surreal that he played for us. Having an elite WR come to a city and team that nobody wanted to play for at the time. 2 2 1 1 Quote
May Day 10 Posted August 12 Posted August 12 At the end, he could have trashed the team and city, nobody would have blamed him... but he didn't. He handled it all with class and I'll always appreciate that. 9 1 2 Quote
SoTier Posted August 12 Posted August 12 The highlight of the 2009 season for me, aside from Dick Jauron getting fired after the previous game, was TO's 98 yard TD pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick. 4 Quote
Billl Posted August 12 Posted August 12 He’s a guy that people loved to hate for whatever reason. The guy was a great player, a pretty good dude, and never got into any legal trouble or anything like that. I was always a fan. 3 Quote
SoonerBillsFan Posted August 12 Posted August 12 The guy showed up and was a damn good teammate here. 1 Quote

I live in Elmira. I drove to Brockport that day to buy a new vehicle. It was a 2006 Ford Fusion. My dad was my salesman so I hung around the dealership for awhile and had lunch with him and his boss. Then I went to Warsaw and visited my grandmother and then my brother and his family. By the time I got home I was beat and crashed. When I woke up, I got online and checked the Bills website. There was the TO news. I literally said "holy s***" out loud! Edited August 12 by holla83 Quote

Absolutely ridiculous top 3 wr of all time in my opinion 1. Rice 2. moss 3. t.o I always shuddered to think if you crossed Owen’s work ethic and conditioning with moss talent.. holy crap Edited August 12 by dcinmuncie 1 Quote
Homey D. Clown Posted August 12 Posted August 12 He still had a little juice left in his game that year, it's a shame the team just couldn't do much with that opportunity, like they did with James Lofton. 1 Quote
Jerry Jabber Posted August 12 Posted August 12 I remember being excited about T.O. and Lee Evans together as the top 2 WR’s. We started the season with Trent Edwards, then quickly went to Ryan Fitzpatrick. Even though it was a disappointing season, T.O. made some great plays and gave us some excitement during a crappy period of Bills football. 1 Quote
Thrivefourfive Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Are we talking T.eam O.bliterator..? There was just nothing left for him to obliterate in Buffalo. He was desperate for a check, and pretty toxic in an organization. San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Dallas saw him off, despite the god talent. The media covered him via chopper while he worked out in his driveway DURING THE SEASON 🤣 as he was kept away from the building in Philly (I have that right?). But hey, I’ll play.. he was.. “news” for a dump of a team, desperate for relevancy. Truth be told, my positivity vibes at the time were embarrassingly empty.. I saw his coming to Buffalo as a weak ploy and I was actually kind of saddened for the guy AND the Bills because his career was fading fast compared to the monster seasons he had previously. Just another dead end on both ends of the spectrum. So I hated it. Knew HE wasn’t the answer to turn that thing around. We all knew it was only a QUARTERBACK that could lift the Bills out of the ashes. These types of moves just pissed me off at the time because I knew it go nowhere. Was this place renamed iTWOBILLSDRIVE during his stay 🤣🤣🤣 But glad to hear that he enjoyed his time here. That’s nice. Old losing feelings die hard for me, I guess. 1 Quote
