The Titans and Browns are replacing stadiums that are 25 years old. I think that about 30 years (or less) is going to be the new norm. Quote
chris heff Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I think that the way stadiums are designed has changed in the last twenty years. The only new stadium I’ve been in is Mercedes Benz Stadium, it is nice, it’s not just seats, concessions and rest rooms. There are amenities, you can sit at a table and eat and see the field. It just felt more comfortable. 3 2 Quote

HaldimandBills Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago The way things are going Buffalo and Green Bay are going to be the only open aired stadiums with a grass field in the Northeast and Midwest. I love that. Will be unique and Bills Mafia will continue to be the working mans experience during Bills games. Eagles games like many other teams will become a non intimidating wine and cheese crowd. I want a loud, rowdy, passionate, but sane Bills crowd at home games. Corporate America is slowly killing what made so many things in the USA special by pandering to the elites. I guess I am not a wuss like many others on here. The partial roof and height of the field is going to eliminate most of the elements as is. Dome only made sense downtown. 6 1 1 Quote

Only drawback is lack of exits, I swear there was only 1 and it took forever to get out of. 1 Quote

Just not someone whose built his life around creature comforts of sitting and TV. Nothing macho about it. Which is what's so depressing. People have really let themselves slip into basic comforts where they don't have a shred of basic resiliency. If watching an NFL game outdoors is becoming too much for people I'd really question where we are heading as a society. The fact you went to macho tough guy is another indicator of how far we are slipping as a society. It's not macho to want to watch a game outdoors. It's actually a very normal thing. If you're elderly and perfer a Dome I understand that completely. If you're not, you are likely a sit in air conditioning during the summer and stay indoors during the winter type of person. I do wonder why that is? 30 years seems to be the target now when in the past teams would typically do renovations around 25-30 years and do a replacement after 40-50. You think a stadium built 20-25 years ago has the ability to be renovated to keep up with the times nor would it be all that outdated to begin with. The Super dome gets renovations every 5-8 years and it’s hosting Super Bowls Quote

Perhaps you meant the past 10 years: U.S. Bank (Vikings), Mercedes (Falcons), Allegiant (Raiders) and SoFi (Chargers/Rams). And Vikings, Falcons and Rams had already played indoors. Quote

I’ve got news for you, the PSL’s and ticket prices are going to change the crowd vibe, and not in a good way. Has nothing to do with dome or no dome. 4 Quote

Going back to 2000, 8 out of the 17 stadiums built were open air. And now with Cleveland, Tennesse, Washington, and Chicago, that'll be four more stadiums going from open air to closed roof. The old multi purpose facilities from the 60’s-80’s were truly dated and somewhat ugly. But by the time you hit the late 90’s stadium designes were much more modern. Im not seeing the money play here but maybe there’s something I am missing. Quote

Is what it is. This is the most ridiculous post I’ve seen in a very long time on this board. The desire to be comfortable while watching a GAME is an indicator that our entire society is heading for the crapper? Talking about resiliency because you should be uncomfortable while watching a GAME? Yikes. I’m 100% a sit in the air conditioning in the summer guy. I must be part of the end of society as we know it. I’m proud of you for sweating it out unnecessarily and keeping society afloat. Kudos to you. 😂 3 Quote
