I am a gentleman if nothing else, as many men of my era were encouraged to be.  Some listened, some didn’t, so I don’t want to paint with a broad brush.  On the other hand, too many compliments leave us precious little room for growth.

Ceasefire, Hamas releasing all hostages, agreements all good.  Regime change would likely be a positive, though who knows.

Oh, I know it’s good Jack!  Here’s the secret though—a little intermittent fasting goes a long way for me without the plant based diet. I’m a tad lazy on that, but was at a pretty decent weight a few months back.  Sadly, muscle isn’t jamming up my bmi at this point, but maybe I ralky for the beach next month.

I have no trust in the decision making of Trump and Hegseth.  
 

If Trump enters this war, Iran will kill American troops in the Middle East to suck us deeper into the war. Netanyahu would love for that to happen too. I’m also concerned about cyber attacks from Iran.

The fact is that everyone knew the Iranians were violating the JCPOA.

 

Even the Obama Administration claimed evidence of it.

 

Never mentioned in this thread, (of course), by those who thought the John Kerry negotiated agreement was of any real value, was the reported event where the Israelis discovered detailed historical records of the program in an Iranian warehouse.

55,000 pages of documents indicating clear existing violations and intent to continue. The Israelis smuggled it out, translated it, and presented it to Trump in his first term.

 

Anyway, there has been a constant drumbeat from intl sources about the violations up till May 31 of this year.

I think Trump's team has done a very poor job of making and communicating the justifications for direct American involvement. Social media posts are amateurish and no substitute for facts and details. The President's statements are vague rambling. A poll indicated only 19% of Trump voters support engagement. Overall, 16% of Americans support involvement.

At some point the Clerics need to go. But here Isreal started this campaign and its not our problem they lack the capacity to neutralize underground facilities. Let then send in ground forces to finish the mission. And likely incur significant casualties. That's not our problem to address. 

Trump campaigned on a pledge of no new wars. If he falls for Isreal's manipulation here he'll lose significant support. It it worth the political capital to do Netanyahu 's dirty work? Do this and he'll lose the audience.

I can say with close to 100% confidence that no theoretical Iranian nukes are pointed at the USA mainland. Why would they be? If they're pointed anywhere they are pointed at Isreal. But they don't exist.

 

Blowing up some underground research facility will do nothing to neutralize operational nuclear weapons. And if the Clerics running the country are faced with total defeat they'll use them if they have them. And if they have them then the mission needs to be taking the active nukes out. Not research facilities. Logically, focusing on taking out research leads to conclude no active capability exists.

I don't like Trump but the Iranian regime is about the most evil government on earth. I'm glad Trump isn't Bush and wanting to invade a country, which at the time I saw as just pure folly. I just hope this full pressure approach leads to a diplomatic solution, but that unfortuently leaves the regime in power. So, I guess there really isn't a winning play here. Bombing is no guarantee of success in anyway, but It has to be on the table. 

 

 

I also think Trump in many ways is a reaction against the failings of the Democratic Party who really needs to get their own house in order.
