Bills on Hard Knocks

Was hoping this crap never happened.

 

Hope the Bills give them as little as possible, though I assume the producers will be allowed to get a bunch.

 

The Bills need no distractions this year, with maybe their best team in a while.

 

Hard Knocks is for teams coached by Rex Ryan, and the Bears, the Cowgirls, and the like.

 

Too bad.

Glad it isnt the In Season Hard Knocks. I have a few friends who are Philly fans and they are not happy. I tell them to cry me a river, Super Bowl champs. Lol.

Some players have Netflix crews following them around. 

Other players have Amazon crews following them around.

A couple of guys are being profiled on NFL Films.

The team has their Marketing film crew making commercials and shorts. 

Then there is the team's Social Media team running around with phones and shooting skits.

The players are doing their own social media clips/skits for their podcasts.

 

One more crew, of mostly installed motionless cameras, isnt that big a deal nowadays.

It wasnt the camera that made him say something dumb or make a bad decision. He was doing that either way. The camera played no part in the outcome, it merely exposed him. If that's the case at OBD, better we know about it. (But I dont expect that).

The cameras make private conversations public.

 

for instance, I am willing to bet the “wr” topic will be a key storyline, Coleman is going to end up under the microscope nationally, something he does not need.

 

I would bet that beane appearance with Jeremy and Joe about wr will be in the first episode.  The camera I imagine have been there already for awhile.  
 

there is zero upside to being on the show.  It will put a target on the bills back and someone will say or do something that will end up being talked about nationally and become an issue.  It always does.

I get it, but if this is enough to unravel us, I don't know if it was ever going to be enough. I'm not sure if we have ever seen this kind of look into our team and the team itself is likeable and interesting. Learning more about the structure and "process" is also really interesting. It will be must see TV for any Bills fan.

I don’t necessarily think it will be a distraction or a negative but at best it’s neutral. I can’t think of one positive thing for the team (not fans) having the Bills on Hard Knocks.

If you go by the over/under preseason win total the teams that did Hard Knocks are 9-10-1 since its inception.  No real impact.

Believe me, I am the last person that wants to talk about wr.

 

unfortunately it’s going to be a major storyline in the series.

I can, it will showcase how close this team is, the vibe amongst the players, being around our fans, this city, etc...something our players who come here know so well.  Its going to create more interest potentially in future free agents.  

 

Almost every player whose played has talked about how special and different it is, and when you are as cold as Buffalo and lack the big city appeal, increasing FA interest even a little bit is a good thing.

Coolio...but I really don't think it will be a "major" story line, thats not how this works on Hard Knocks.  Ive got friends at HBO who run this show, that is not the format of the show.  They don't beat stories to death the way fans do...Hard Knocks is more about the players and coaches as people, journey's, etc.  It will focus on a couple vets...it will focus on several fringe guys and their fight to make the roster...it will feature some rookies/young guys...and it will feature the coaches/FO on how run the ship, meetings, make decisions, etc. 

 

Remember, we dont have a major camp battle at WR.  Keon and Palmer are set outside, Shakir is set in the slot.  There is no story there.  Hard Knocks doesn't break down film and look for trouble spots or things that arent working.  It is very much a story driven series of life in the NFL, they are not there to focus on strengths and weaknesses of the team and point that out. 

 

There is going to be almost no coverage about the WR talent (or lack of depending on someones point of view)...they will probably try and follow Coleman because he is young and so charismatic.  But honestly, the WR coverage isn't going to be remotely cover all the things people have been beating like a dead horse here.

Yea I am aware of the storytelling format and style nfl films uses in hard knocks.

 

i hope they do not go down that road with the wr debate and the beane and Jeremy and Joe  thing.  
 

last years hard knocks with the bears was really bad.  It was boring and uninteresting.  Hopefully the bills version will be stories about the international player trying to stick on the practice squad, chicken wings and boring meetings with coaches.  That would be nice and not cause any issues.

 

one thing that will happen is Dawkins will be either loved or hated nationally by the end of it because he is a character.   I wonder if they went with him in the offseason to that weird car racing thing he does.  That is perfect fodder for the show.

It's on HBO. Training camp opens towards the end of July, I think? The first episode will be Aug 5th.

It will put a target on the Bills back?  Seriously?  As if we don’t already have a target on our back.  We have the best player in the league and this team is an unquestioned powerhouse.  The target is already there.  Hard knocks or not.  I get why people don’t want to be on the show, but the show putting a target on our backs is not one of them
