Yeah but Shakir and Kincaid would've made his role redundant as he's mostly a slot WR.  It's the not trading up for Brian Thomas Jr. that's frustrating.  Maybe they tried.  Who knows?  I'd love for Coleman to tear it up this year so he can shut all of us up.

Yeah, the story was that Beane felt that it was the 3 guys that went in the Top 9 and after that, there wasn't much separating BTJ and everyone else who went over the next 10 picks after him. He felt that getting Coleman, moving back into Round 3, and keeping all 10 picks was worth more than getting BTJ and having less lottery tickets. He was wrong. There was an even bigger separation between BTJ and that next group than was even thought at the time.

He says he didn't even try to move up. Who knows if that's true or not. I'd hope it was just a situation of not being able to get above the Jaguars to select him. But if we take him at his word, it seems like a massive misstep and scouting judgement as BTJ looked better than Marvin Harrison last year.

But yes, it's one thing to rake him over the coals for not trying to move up and get BTJ. Or to say he picked the wrong guy if Coleman flops and any of Xavier Worthy, Xavier Legette, Ja'Lynn Polk, Adonai Mitchell, or Troy Franklin turn into studs. But the constant obsession over McConkey is tiring and ridiculous. It'd be like posting about missing out on a Nickel CB who became a stud if Maxwell Hairston looked rough in Year 1. McConkey is not the type of WR we were in the market for.

Where did I say Rousseau had no impact?  As for never coming close to that kind of production.........

Just your last sentence you said he never came close to that sort of defensive impact

Let's give it 3 years before saying he was wrong or right BTJ and Ladd were both primary targets in woeful offenses.

Coleman was like a 3rd 4th option, if either of them came here they likely don't come close to the production they had

I think Keon will develop nicely and be a great fit for this O.

You saying that I said Rousseau had no impact and that was my only gripe.  Your pesky stats proved me wrong.  It is impressive that Groot's season was almost as good as Verse's who won Defensive Rookie Of The Year.  It's funny because I thought the Groot re-signing at number was the best move Beane made this off-season and I came across as an anti Groot guy in this thread.  If (and a big if) both him and Bosa stay healthy this year we could finally have a decent pass rush.

No respect for Tremaine Edmunds.

I get that this is probably a joke about how people used to talk about how young he was, but at this point he's 27. Just sayin'.

Oh.  Got ya.  Thanks.  The sole point of my existence is defending ex Bills players that left two years ago that I feel in any way got slighted.

A list like this that has Jayden anywhere other than #1, is just garbage to start.

No GM is taking Penny over JD

This is the list of the best though and length of proving it is part of the consideration for me. I do think the two best players in the NFL under 25 are Sewell and Hamilton. They both look like future HoFers.

I do agree if you let any GM choose Daniels (and Stroud probably) are the top 2 because having a Quarterback just matters that much more. If Daniels backs his rookie year up he for sure moves up.

Having Cook, Rousseau, and Torrence all age 25 and not below doesn’t help the Bills for this list.

Shakir is 25 too. Not sure he would make the listed top 25 but he's probably in the tier of top 50 guys 25 and under.

Looks like McConkey is on the list.

Unfortunately Coleman didn't make it

Couldn't seperate himself from the pack of other under 25 uear old WRs...
