Only reason I do not think it will happen is the Bills are most likely closing on the road week 18 if Xmas is the regular season finale. It is not completely unheard of although rare to open on the road AND close on the road, but my guess is they are home.

Good point if Christmas is the final regular season home game. What does the AFC get this year 8 or 9 home games?

I'm good with getting the Bengals early in the season. They typically stumble out of the gate.

Big test for our new D if true

The NFL and the schedule release is ridiculous, anything for the Almighty dollar.

Did anyone ever think Rome would fall?

the NFL will last longer than the Roman Empire did!  Guaranteed.

AFC gets 9 home games this year. Given this is the last year at highmark my thought has been they open at home if they are away week 18. Again could be wrong, but all coaches wish they could open and close at home so I gotta believe if they are roadies week 18 they are home week 1.

Huh? What’s ridiculous about it? Would you prefer to just show up at the stadium this September hoping there’s a game and wondering who they’re playing? 😳

The way things are going I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't end up pushing the schedule release to June or July in the future.  Anything can happen between now and then with big moves, so the NFL can make it more interesting which means more $$$$. They moved it after the draft to garner more interest in it.

They cannot got too much later due to network deals and scheduling. It was moved to May so in years the draft has some big QB hype and players they can build off of it. Get ready for Arch Manning to be on 3x when he comes in the league in a year or two.

If this really is the opening game, this is stupid.  I'm good with the Eagles, but why against the Cowboys?  They were terrible last year.  I get the injuries, but what have they proven when healthy?  At a min, why not against the Commanders?
