That’s a bit of a relief. I’ve been present for multiple ACL tears. After a complete tear there is usually no (or minimal) pain. Partial tears are usually painful. A person can easily walk with a fully torn ACL that’s the only part of the knee that is injured. The trainer did help Hairston off the field, but we do not know why. It could’ve just been precautionary. We just have to wait and see. While I am not filled with hope at this point, I’m not devoid of it either. I didn’t see the additional walk off initially. I am 50/50 on the severity of the injury from my amateur opinion I don’t think they would have let him walk off even with assistance from the trainer if they had suspected a chance at a tear. I hope it’s a strain that he just misses a week or two. An injury where he misses all of pre season is gonna set back his development 1 Quote

So you saw it "live"/in person at camp? Just to be clear. Or just videos? I will say its very uncommon to have a player walk off with a torn ligament, if he suspected something serious. And while walking, having him test stability, very strange he'd put any strain like that. 2 Quote

I know guys walk off with ACL but that’s usually in game situations and not practice. From what I am reading if the trainers suspect a tear even somewhat they will not let the player walk off even with some assistance. Yes it is possible the manual test came up wrong and they let the walk off. But I am hoping for the best as it is less likely they would let the player walk off if they suspected a tear Quote

Im holding out hope Quote

It would make sense for an NFL team to be cautious, but that’s all it would be about. 1 Quote
Cheektowaga Chad Posted Tuesday at 05:27 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:27 PM It looks like the trainer has him test it while walking Quote

But an ACL? Yea a slow straight line walk off is pretty normal in my experience and you are not gonna do more damage that way. 1 1 Quote
