He’s kind of an ass tho That post from DCofNC made me look up Blake Bortles. He's been out the league for 4 years. Last season was an LA Rams backup in 2019. When a system is designed around a player, and that is what we see in Buffalo, does it not seem like sound logic to have a similarly skilled player to back them up? If a totally different guy comes off the bench, their game plan goes out the window and they need to adjust on the fly. I guess it all depends on the circumstance. Minshew is not likely to get a starting gig anywhere, but has good experience including almost getting the Colts into the playoffs last year. He seems like would fit in well with the culture here and the team could still get by if Allen was to be out for an extended time.
