By definition people that traffic drugs across the border aren’t migrants, because they aren’t migrating, they’re trafficking drugs. T master Posted March 9, 2023 Share Posted March 9, 2023 I have wondered for a while now why they don't build a few US military bases on the southern border & then they can conduct their tank shelling practice & bombing raids on the American side of the border which after seeing the explosions would likely deter many from trying to come across . At night the military could patrol the border and send those back that come across it would do 2 things keep the money for military bases here along with the training of the troops rather than building military bases in foreign countries then when we leave give them away to terrorists . And it would keep the amount of illegals from coming freely across the border . That's called a twofer !! Plus then we could know the tax payers money was going to good use . I'm sure if Joe would ever tok the time to visit the southern border & actually see the cluster he has help create he might realize something needs to be done but he believed Kamala after she came back from over seas & told him there wasn't a problem at the southern border ... The cartels have been sending tons of drugs over the border for decades, regardless of the number of migrants crossing or the war on drugs. If one way is stopped, they will find another way. As long as there is a demand by stupid Americans, they will feed it. Resources would be better spent on locking up dealers, education, addiction treatment and prevention programs. As you’ve already apparently guessed, the quantity of drugs coming into the US hasn’t changed so much as the “quality.” The cartels used to traffic a shitload of marijuana but now that it’s legal/decriminalized in many states they’ve diversified. Cocaine, heroin, meth, and fentanyl are moneymakers for them now as well. Easy way to track this sort of thing is to look at CBP figures for seizures at the southwest border.
