Even with all that said, Cover 1 is mostly favorable towards the Bills defensively saying they held up remarkably well for having that many second and third stringers playing in the secondary. Was interesting to see the Dolphins used very similar plays that the Titans did to attack certain coverages by the Bills with a few new wrinkles at times...

As always, fantastic in depth breakdowns by Cover 1.  If you love the various chess like strategy parts of football and going more inside the X's and O's they are a must watch weekly...

they held down the fort decently enough. Effectively held the Dolphins’ O to 14 pts.  (Granted, their O was only on the field for 20 minutes, but still…)

Well, part of that was because they had to punt 5 times.  They had the chance to stay on the field more but failed. Ironically that might have been better for the Bills if they did.

That’s every offense pretty much. I credit the defense and the young guys  filling in. They did a remarkable job. The coaching staff once again has let us down. They will be the downfall of this team.

Omg

Tua had 2 long passes on Blown coverage

take those 70 yards away and he didn’t do 💩

You can play that game all day long though. When it came time to make a play, the Phins did. Can’t say the same for the Bills.

On that Sunday, they were the better team on the field. They made less mistakes, made plays when they needed to and kept the Bills off balance. I don’t think they’re better than the Bills, but that’s why they play the games.

With half the Bills starters missing

Last season Tua couldn’t beat the Bills backups , Sunday he did

Kept the Bills off balance? What does that even mean? Its nonsense. TOP was 2:1, yards was almost 2:1.

Bills failed to a FG, a snap, a pick 6, and to call a QB sneak at the goal line. None of those mistakes were because the Dolphins had the Bills off balance.

Exactly.

The Dolphins didn't beat us on Sunday. The coaching team didn't lead us to a defeat on Sunday. It was execution of simple plays which let us down.

Really?  Who got the young players ready and put them in position to make plays? Exactly how many teams do you think would have held a team to 212 total yards missing 6 defensive players going into it, and then losing another CB early in the 2nd Quarter? How many teams even hold a team to 212 yards with their starters to begin with, let alone an entire backup secondary and then with a rookie PS CB forced into the game for 2.5 quarters?

It took a remarkable coaching job to have the Bills even in the game, let alone leading it and dominating(other than on the scoreboard) for most of it. Coaching doesn't throw a TD pass into the ground, nor drop a TD, nor drop an easy pick 6, nor badly mishit an easy 38 yard FG, nor have bobbled snap(s), nor force them to be playing without 12 starters at one point.

I think you would be hard pressed to find another team in the NFL that wouldn't have lost that game by multiple scores facing the same situation as the Bills did.

Yards were well over 2:1...Bills had 495, Fins had 212

I mean that by and large the Phins forced the Bills to play the game on their terms. Dink and dunk, get tired, let them creep towards the red zone, then clamp down. They kept the same blitz looks from the first half into the second, but dropped into zone coverages and took away the deep and middle of the field. Line play suffered as players went down and got tired, pressure came too fast, forcing Josh to take the dump offs and short passes they were giving up.

They knew we were tired and our offense was on the field too long. Have to get rid of the ball fast because the pressure is coming, can't wait for plays to develop, not enough bodies at WR to rotate in fresh guys so people are tired and can't sprint, get separation.

I highly doubt our offense came in there with a gameplan to play 12-16 play drives in sweltering heat as a means to shield our defense. There's playing ball control offense, and then there's the defense letting you wear yourself out so you can't close it out in the redzone because the drive just killed your offense because its so damn hot and you don't have bodies to rotate in.
