The secret service has confirmed that part already. So has Trump in an interview post January 6th.

Geez…exactly! Which is proof that Trump was not trying to stage a coup! Doesn’t anyone actually think anymore? What was he going to do from the steps of the Capitol….legislate another tax cut for the rich? I forever shocked at how little the American people know about how this freaking country works!

Never bend to the Marxists. You are an idiot.

No.  The idiots are the people believing the fantasy that you can execute a successful coup without any support from the military or other people with lots of guns acting in coordination at multiple sites around the country to take over key and critical facilities and infrastructure.

The really stupid part is that somehow the American people have been duped into believing that the country is run from the Capitol….which it’s not! The country is actually run from the White House.

The White House you say?

Here's some whataboutism for all the leftists.

Whatabout memory holing this?

Maybe, just maybe if this committee didn't focus solely on 4 hours on January 6th and instead focused on ALL political violence that resulted in attacks on government buildings in the past two years, then you might have more people paying attention.

But carry on with the clown show.

I think some of the problem is that most people have never been to Washington…even as tourists. The majority of Americans believe the President works at the Capitol. He doesn’t. In fact, he only goes there once a year, to make a speech. They simply don’t understand the three co-equal branches of government….and probably don’t understand the concept of co-equal. Our extraordinarily expensive public education system needs to spend a bit less time on grievance month and a whole lot more time on basic civics.

Yes, I think we can all agree that Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, and John Eastman are idiots.

Glad we found this common ground.

You might be on to something here.  Maybe they left a confession note or signed copies of their elaborate and foolproof insurrection plan somewhere like on Adam Schiff's desk?  Or mailed a copy to the NYT's?  Or a napkin found in the trash at the local IHOP?

They’re waiting for them to show up so they can incriminate themselves.

They constantly blabbed about it. They wouldn’t shut up about it, raised $200 million from gullible people on it, and tried to pressure Mike Pence to join in on it.

@ChiGoose cmon tell us why this is all on the up and up....

What is odd is that there is not loud, widespread protest from the reporters who cover the hearing. Journalists generally do not like being fed short, preselected bits of information by newsmakers who keep most of what they know a secret. It just goes against the journalistic instinct. And yet with the Jan. 6 committee, there has been extensive coverage and not much complaining about what the committee is concealing....

Likewise with the committee's interviews of the two White House staffers involved in Hutchinson's story, then-deputy chief of staff Tony Ornato and Secret Service agent Robert Engel. We learned through reporting that the committee had interviewed them, too, but the committee never mentioned that simple fact during the Hutchinson testimony. Why not?

Well, it might be because at the time the committee did its interview or interviews with Ornato and Engel, Hutchinson had not yet offered the SUV story, so the committee did not know to ask them about it

Then one might ask: Why not bring Ornato and Engel back in and ask them about Hutchinson's new story? Apparently, the committee was in too big of a hurry to do that.

  • 2 weeks later...

I guarantee that there are people here who still believe that officer Sicknick was bludgeoned to death with a fire extinguisher.

To quote GG..

"They train their audiences to want to be lied to."

Yes indeed.
