The Biden administration’s removal of an array of U.S. sanctions against Venezuela’s oil sector is designed to stabilize that country’s calamitous economy

Removing sanctions for six months on oil, gas and the mining sector as announced by U.S. officials Wednesday night is expected by economists to boost an economy that had contracted 80%

On October 18th, President Joe Biden's administration announced that, with immediate effect, it would lift most of the restrictions placed on Venezuela's energy, gold and financial sectors

it takes some busted logic to blame Venezuela on the orange dude or Ukraine.

Something they've laid claim to for decades.  But the timing suggests he's emboldened by the oil supply deal Biden secured with the socialist dictator.  With Biden in his back pocket he's got some latitude to act.

Time to send in the CIA and eliminate this chump causing problems in our backyard.

Ya, so I'm sure electing an isolationist would really scare the dictators. These dictators are happy about the GOP wanting to leave Ukraine at Russia's mercy.

The dictators want the GOP to win

Damn

Been saying this from the beginning. Ukraine is not suddenly the glowing beacon of Democracy just because they are fighting Russia. Ukraine is equally corrupt. We shouldn’t be backing either of these countries in this fight.

Joe Biden Wants to Kill Ukraine Funding And Blame the GOP For It

ERICK-WOODS ERICKSON

FTA:

Now, I need to get to Ukraine funding, which is dead for now.

Several Republican Senators tell me they have become increasingly convinced over several months that Joe Biden wants to kill the funding. This explains his very slow roll to provide Ukraine the deliverables he previously promised them. Biden has repeatedly promised munitions and other supplies to Ukraine and then never actually sent them, or slow rolled it.

At this point, the Democrats could get the Ukraine funding they want, but they will have to compromise on border security, which they have no desire to do and which Joe Biden is not willing to do.

The thinking from these Senators is that Joe Biden is using President Zelensky as a prop against the GOP. Biden will blame the GOP for a lack of funding and use that lack of funding to both blame the GOP for a strategic failure in Ukraine and force Zelensky to compromise on land.

It’s already increasingly talked about in foreign policy circles that Zelensky is intransigent on the need to compromise while the Germans, French, British, and Americans are more willing to see Ukraine formally give up Crimea and other eastern territories

.

Saying, “Sorry, Congress won’t budge so we can’t supply you weapons,” will force Zelensky to make decisions he has otherwise refused to make. Biden gets what he actually wants while also using the GOP as scapegoats.

If the opposition is compromised then he's right to do so.  People are, rightly so, keeping a close eye to make sure Zelensky doesn't go overboard and some are criticizing him now (Klitchko for example).  It took a long time for other Eastern European countries to clean house of Russian influence and they always had more influence in Ukraine.

They are just twisting every single story they see into a negative against Ukraine.

That's a legitimate hypothesis if the administration is looking for an off-ramp on the pledge of whatever it takes for as long as it takes.  This funding battle is an opportunity to do so and lay blame at the feet of others for defeat.  Otherwise, If aid to Ukraine is such a priority, then compromising on the issue of funding border security in exchange for that aid should be an acceptable concession.

ANYONE SURPRISED ?

BREAKING: Biden Blinks on Border Standoff?

CBS NEWS 4:15 PM on December 12, 2023

The Biden administration on Tuesday indicated to congressional lawmakers that it would be willing to support a new border authority to expel migrants without asylum screenings, as well as a dramatic expansion of immigration detention and deportations, to convince Republicans to back aid to Ukraine, four people familiar with the matter told CBS News.

The White House informed Senate Democrats that it could back those sweeping and hardline immigration policy changes as part of the negotiations over President Biden’s emergency funding request, a roughly $100 billion package that includes military aid to Israel, Taiwan and Ukraine, as well as money to bolster border enforcement and hire additional immigration officials.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/immigration-white-house-congress-border-security-detention-deportation/?ftag=CNM-00-10aab7e&linkId=254669110

If true, this would be a massive win for Speaker Mike Johnson. Johnson had threatened to send the House home until after New Year if the border remained unaddressed, and it looks like that may have been enough for the White House to throw in the towel — that, and the fact that Democrats are also getting pretty unhappy about Biden’s border crisis. Stay tuned

This is assuming that the GOP. wants to compromise. I don't believe they do. They don't want a border bill. They just want to complain about it,

Why not pass Biden's border plan? The GOP is afraid to lose this issue. So this is a Red Herring and Ukraine is a victim of Trump's love of Putin

Proud? Maybe more children will get blown up by Russian missiles tonight! You can be happy then

You can blame Joke for not allowing a deal to be made last year.  Or being such a wuss that he allowed the invasion to happen in the first place.  Let someone else give them billions to be stolen by that corrupt Government.
