Student killed himself after bullying about his vaccination status: lawsuit

A 15-year-old boy who was initially targeted by a false rumor that he was unvaccinated was bullied relentlessly until he took his own life in January, a lawsuit claims.

The suit filed Monday against the Latin School of Chicago alleges administrators at the private college prep school — which charges more than $40,000 annually in tuition — committed “willful failure” to stop the incessant bullying, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The Cook County filing named the school, several employees and parents of the alleged bullies as defendants. The late teen, identified as N.B. in the suit, transferred to the school due to its in-person learning during the coronavirus pandemic, the complaint states.

A student whose parents are named in the lawsuit then started spreading a rumor that the 10th-grader, Nate Bronstein, was unvaccinated, according to the lawsuit.

At least a dozen U.S. universities reinstate mask mandates as Covid cases rise

At least a dozen colleges and universities across the U.S. restored their indoor mask mandates this month after Covid cases rose on their campuses.

Columbia University, Johns Hopkins University and Georgetown University, among others, announced they will again require face coverings in classrooms or certain indoor spaces. Some schools cited the threat of the more contagious omicron BA.2 subvariant, now the dominant strain of the virus in the U.S.

I am not sure how accurate the article is since they literally reference things happening in the future but this article should be simplified down to " county officials are mad that charter school gave people freedom and are attacking them to benefit only government officials." No evidence is given that anyone is safer with restrictions.

Newer, fitter descendants of Omicron variant begin to drive their own coronavirus waves

There's no denying the numbers: Even with spotty reporting, Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations are rising again in the United States.

Well since the WHCD has turned into a super spreader event does that mean we will recognize the great limitations of the vaccine and boosters? Literally everyone there was boosted but still a bunch of them got it.

Everywhere else is safe - but where the Federal Government can mandate, it will.

President CDC hath spoken:

CDC restates recommendation for masks on planes, trains

NEW YORK -- U.S. health officials on Tuesday restated their recommendation that Americans wear masks on planes, trains and buses, despite a court ruling last month that struck down a national mask mandate on public transportation.

Americans age 2 and older should wear a well-fitting masks while on public transportation, including in airports and train stations, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended, citing the current spread of coronavirus and projections of future COVID-19 trends.

CDC advises Grand Traverse County residents to mask up

Michiganians living in Grand Traverse County are advised to wear masks indoors, based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The county has a "high" level of community transmission, according to the CDC's standards, meaning new cases per 100,000 people, new COVID-19 hospital admissions and the number of hospital beds in the county holding COVID patients have risen there.

Guardians-White Sox game postponed over COVID-19 outbreak

A COVID-19 outbreak in Cleveland's clubhouse, including a positive test for manager Terry Francona, led Major League Baseball to postpone Wednesday's series finale between the Guardians and White Sox to allow for more testing and contact tracing.

It was the first coronavirus-related postponement in the league so far this season, which started on April 7.

MLB released a statement saying only there were ''multiple positive COVID-19 tests'' within Cleveland's organization.

Francona, who has dealt with serious health problems the past two seasons, tested positive a few hours before the scheduled first pitch. The team said the 63-year-old Francona currently is not showing any symptoms.

No place on earth is worse then China where it all began and still destroying the supply chain

Leaving locked down Shanghai for a 'whole new world' outside China

After 50 days of being locked inside, I could feel my neighbors peering at me from their homes as I left my apartment. They likely assumed I was either being bused off to a government quarantine center like people who had tested positive, or had found a quick escape route like other expats trying to get out.

Insanity. No end in sight for this crazy policy. Shows why having so much economic connection to China is not so good. This is the biggest reason for the stock market falling, a big part of the inflation and (hopefully) leads to discontent with communist rule, not that that will make much difference

No doubt.

In addition, there’s  a massive leadership void in the US.   You place an old man with cognitive difficulties in the White House, have junior interns shepherding him around like Great Grandpa at a picnic, and uncertainty follows.

It’s worse. This administration is chock full of completely incompetent, ridiculous people chosen for everything BUT their actual skill set, expertise, or resume. What in the world did anyone expect? This isn’t your local condominium HOA. These nitwits are attempting to run a world super power while literally faking it on the job day after day! Unbelievable.

Well, if there is, at least the leadership void is better than it was in the four years after 2016. Trump was trash and still is. Biden, an improvement!

This is the problem with hyper partisan politics, the inability to see beyond the improvement in one’s personal situation.

The market is adjusting to socio and economic unrest.  “Biden the unifier” was a myth.  Biden is who he always was, an incompetent boob similar to the guy you see at the local market, telling you all the great things he is an has done, trying to charm the pretty girls at the register as he walk by with toilet paper hanging out the back of his pants.

Your democrat ancestors knew it—that’s why he was shown to the curb previously by your parents, grandparents and great grandparents.

It really took a whole lot of foolish offspring to elect him, and we’re seeing the results.

Everything is not his problem, but the guy’s idea of leadership is blustering to some guy about how many push-ups he can do.

All that was before the sudden onset of his stutter, the one that manifests itself with symptoms of dementia.
