The Uhaul place by my house is offering $1000 signing bonus, start today, get paid today, and $16 per hour. They've been looking for weeks. In some places McDonald's is offering $25 per hour. It was not like this before the pandemic. Why is this? People used to work 2 jobs but now with the rise in wages they don't have to? A lot of people have decided to not work and stay home and be "entrepreneurs" or become Tik Tok stars? Since they aren't looking for work they aren't counted? I'm not suggesting anyone is lying. Good point. However the unemployment rate from May 2018 to March 2020 was the same as it is now. Never went over 4 during that time.
