Nancy Pelosi used to point her angry finger at Donald Trump, but she leaves him for dust when it comes to busting norms, dividing Congress and causing mayhem. If anyone is to blame for the hyper-partisanship in Washington these days, it’s the spiteful House speaker.

 

She behaves more like a Mafia don waging a gang war than a dignified, fair and honest presiding officer, which is what the speaker’s role requires. Pelosi abuses her power in ways that once were unthinkable. Her speakership has been the antithesis of Lincoln’s entreaty to “the better angels of our nature.”

Radio host Howard Stern blasted opponents of the COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday, stating that "nutjobs" are trampling on his "freedom to live."

 

"When are we going to stop putting up with the idiots in this country and just say it's mandatory to get vaccinated?" Stern said to listeners on his eponymous SiriusXM program.

 

"As I remember, when I went to school, you had to get a measles vaccine. You had to get a mumps vaccine," Stern said.

 

"F--- them. F--- their freedom. I want my freedom to live," Stern, 67, said. "I want to get out of the house. I want to go next door and play chess. I want to go take some pictures. This is bull####."

 

"The other thing I hate is that all these people with COVID who won't get vaccinated are in the hospitals clogging it up," the radio host, dubbing vaccine opponents "imbeciles," exclaimed. "So like, if you have a heart attack or any kind of problem, you can't even get into the E.R.

The Department of Justice’s fight against angry parents is a real testament to the authoritarian nature of the Biden administration and indeed, the entirety of the left. It takes a lot of hubris to declare that you know how to raise someone’s child better than them and send authorities to shut you down when you protest that.

 

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is famously anti-authoritarian and true to form, he’s not liking what he sees at all, and he appeared on Fox News to tell Ben Domenech about it.

 

Paul told Fox that angry mothers were being criminalized just for dissenting against hard-left school boards, a thing “we should all be appalled with.”

 

Domenech asked Paul if people should worry about appearing on government lists if they say the wrong thing, and Paul reminded acknowledged that lists like these already exist and that it would be right to fear the government in this regard.

 

“That’s a sad thing from someone in the government to say, but the thing is, is those lists already exist. For example, people in northern Virginia that have gone to [protests], have been then sought out by the school council, by the members of the school board and retaliated [against] in a sort of legalistic way to try to put them on some sort of list and chill their speech by letting them know there’ll be a penalty for showing up and protesting,” Paul said.

 

Paul believes that there should be a drawn line about how one should act when it comes to dissent and brought up the woman who filmed Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema as an example of going too far. He also made it clear that intentionally causing illegal havoc at a school board meeting is fair game for local punishment.

 

That said, Paul drew a line about what should be considered violations of federal law and made it clear that Garland is clearly trying to silence simple dissenters.

 

“If you go to a school board meeting and you’re disruptive and you don’t obey the rules of the school board meeting, then there will be local punishment,” Paul said. “But that has nothing to do with the federal law, it has nothing to do with the Department of Justice. What Merrick Garland did is, he’s attempting to stifle dissent, and he’s attempting to say, ‘Beware or Big Brother’s coming after you if you speak out against my policies or against the Biden policies.’”

Today, the president released a three-minute video that was played at the Democrat National Committee’s fall meeting. As of this moment, six hours after it was published, only 627 people have watched the entirety of the event on YouTube. Clearly, the energy levels on the Democratic side are just through the roof, but I digress.

 

During the video, Biden pleaded for unity among his party, assuring them that if they came together, they could make 2022 look a lot like 2020. The pitch was obviously meant to target Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema, both of which are looking to nuke the president’s “build back better” agenda.

 

The problem for Biden, though, is that it’s way too late for this. Rather than sowing the seeds of unity, he has spent the last several months trying to browbeat hesitant Democrat party members into submission. He’s accused them of holding up progress and harming the country. He’s even excused targeted harassment in a bathroom toward Sinema as “part of the process.” Does he really think a pre-recorded message in which he mumbles some lines about unity is going to bring everyone together?

In Ohio, an individual mailed a letter to a school board member labeling the return address on the envelope from a local neighborhood association and then enclosing threatening hate mail from another entity.21 This correspondence states that, “We are coming after you and all the members on the ... BoE [Board of Education].” This hate mail continues by stating, “You are forcing them to wear mask—for no reason in this world other than control. And for that you will pay dearly.” Among other incendiaries, this same threat also calls the school board member a “filthy traitor,” implies loss of pension funds, and labels the school board as Marxist. Earlier this month, a student in Tennessee was mocked during a board meeting for advocating masks in schools after testifying that his grandmother, who was an educator, died because of COVID-19.22 These threats and acts of violence are affecting our nation’s democracy at the very foundational levels, causing school board members – many who are not paid – to resign immediately and/or discontinue their service after their respective terms.23 Further, this increasing violence is a clear and present danger to civic participation, in which other citizens who have been contemplating service as either an elected or appointed school board member have reconsidered their decision.

I actually prefer to watch women's basketball because hardly any of them can dunk.  So they have to play more team work to get off a good shot.  I have tried to get my wife, the woman's libber, to go to a Seattle Storm game but she doesn't want to go.  She like football better which is cool.

They have been consistently behind on the generic congressional ballot, and their fate will be profoundly influenced by President Biden’s abysmal job approval numbers. Consequently, they badly need competent guidance from their leadership. They aren’t getting it. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is instead telling its members that their policies are not the problem. According to a recent Politico report, the DCCC insists that the source of their woes is GOP “culture war attacks” and the solution is better messaging.
