The backup is there because he may be asked to do the starter's job---no less. I think he is a low end NFL starting corner. If he was your 3rd outside guy in this scheme you would be delighted. He may be low a end starter somewhere, but that and the fact that he's an 8 game starter here doesn't mitigate the fact that he's struggling a lot as starting CB on the Bills roster.
