Please keep discussion in this thread narrowly focused on football and directly football-related issues.

Two Bills Drive no longer finds it appropriate to engage in COVID-19 discussion in our main discussion areas. We are a Buffalo Bills fan community and we exist to serve fans of the Buffalo Bills and the NFL. Please use other communities and venues to discuss heath-related topics including COVID-19.

Information about COVID-19 is available from many globally respected sources including:

The pinned topic: COVID-19 - Facts and Information Only Topic, located on the Off the Wall subforum, is also a resource.   Should these not meet your needs, many other sources of information (of varied accuracy) exist.

Thank you!

Silly or not, the report is that the game will likely be played Monday or Tuesday.

Postponing until later in the year simply does not work. Do that now and you have to do it again later when another team gets positive cases. What if that's in Week 15? Just not possible then. The league put a lot of new tweaks, such as the expanded practice squad, so this is something teams can play through.

Shall I add my own apology forms to Josh Allen's

Interesting that one more positive player test results in this...

What's the point of the expanded PS, if 5 players testing positive leads to this?

The point is next week those players might still be out but they can play us after making sure no one else has it.

What if nobody else tests positive tomorrow or Saturday?  They could have just pulled up a couple guys off their practice squad, practiced Sunday and played the game Monday or Tuesday, and then played us as well.

It just seems like this is exactly what the expanded practice squad was for..  Now, obviously, if more cases arise and it becomes a full blown outbreak, well then they are a mess regardless.

its that ten days incubation where potentially you could by asymptomatic that makes rescheduling for later in the year more sense as they had an additional positive come in and there could be more.

The practice squad guys is because this thing can knock people out for at least a month the rescheduling is to nip this in the but so they can keep playing other teams.

I get that, but that doesn't really apply here.  The game was going to happen Monday or Tuesday if nobody else tested positive.  The incubation period still applies when guys tested positive yesterday.

I agree they'd have to postpone if more tested positive after today... i'm simply saying I would've waited to see if that happened.

it did happen

The Pittsburgh-Tennessee game scheduled for Week 4 will be rescheduled to later this season after one additional Titans player and one personnel member tested positive for COVID-19 today. An announcement of the new game date will be made shortly.

The decision to postpone the game was made to ensure the health and safety of players, coaches and game day personnel. The Titans facility will remain closed and the team will continue to have no in-person activities until further notice.

We're not discussing the same thing.  I know they moved the game.   You're saying they did so, potentially, because of the incubation period... They did not postpone due to that... because they were going to play Monday night if there were no positive tests today.

Not to argue much, but it would not matter if no else tested positive tomorrow or Saturday (the additional positive today changed the dynamic) - that was not the issue as far as I understand it for postponing the game.

They identified contacts and some of those people tested positive on Monday.  If it had stopped there - the plan was to keep the facility closed until Saturday - do a deep clean - and play Monday or Tuesday.  As additional people came up positive later in the week - that suggested there was more spread and the NFL deemed they need to wait a longer period to ensure they are not missing people that were exposed and are infectious before they test positive.

They really need to give a minimum of  3-5 days from the last positive to give people potentially exposed time to become positive because the timings overlap (infectious versus testing positive).  Therefore - with the additional positives they are looking at closing the facilities until Monday or Tuesday of next week and are asking the players not to get together with each other at all to prevent additional spread.  That timeframe could get further extended - including cancelling our game if more tests come back positive later this week or early next week.

The Practice Squad is designed to be used once they get the outbreak under control and that has not yet been determined.  Once they are sure they have everything contained - they can begin the utilization of the PS players, but they cannot do anything until they are positive the outbreak is contained and the impacted players are quarantined.  They will have a good feeling on that by Monday or Tuesday if the latest positive is the last - if more come up - it will be a fight to get them back in play.

The interesting part is the Steelers really get screwed here as their Bye week is shifted forward and they might have to play Baltimore and Tennessee back to back - 2 very physical games.

My view is not changed by the NFL's dumb decision today. Hopefully, this will be the one and only outbreak this season. But if it is not, the NFL will regret today.

The Titans are scheduled to host Buffalo (3-0) on Oct. 11 depending on the results of daily testing.

With the two new cases, the Titans’ total is now 12: five players and seven other organization members since last Saturday. Vrabel said he's very confident the Titans have followed the contact tracing protocol to identify anyone at risk from being close together.

I have zero confidence in that Neanderthal leading the way on this.
