If Trump loses and refuses to leave

I really think debates don't make any difference at all. They are good political theatre, but they have little affect on voting. IMO

I'm sure you're too young to remember 1960, but Nixon was gonna be a shoe-in to win, then the debates happened, and we all know the outcome

Back then a debate could dominate coverage, in this 24-7 wall to wall news and the latest distraction around the corner, short attention spans prevail.

Not saying Im 100% sure but I just don't think they matter that much anymore.

I see it all day, every day. Joe Biden is going senile. Telling Cornpop stories, nixing up his sister and wife, etc. Having his els racist statements come out (...you ain't black...).

It cracks me up when leftists go batschittcrazy over something Trump said, just before they prepare to vote for the dude who told the Cornpop story.

That story is worse than Hillary's lie about coming under sniper fire in Bosnia.

C'mon, man! Cornpop!

You could be right, but with these 2 candidates, there may be millions of undecided that the debates may sway, we'll see

I had no idea you were a primary caregiver. That's almost as good as being a psychiatrist or a short-order cook.

What a condescending piece of schitt you are with this comment.

I pray you never have to be someone's primary caregiver because it's pretty clear you have so little understanding and regard for what is involved. If you find yourself in a position where you're expected to be a primary caregiver,  tell them to find an adult who can actually handle the job so the person can live out their last days with some dignity.

They will here.  When they see Joe stumbling, those who aren't locked-into voting for him simply because he's not Trump will see the real deal.

It will be like a sporting event with each side cheering their side on, but few voters will change their mind.

If you think there isn't a good portion of voters who are still undecided...

Thank you  leh-nerd skin-erd for your kind comments.

My mom is strong. Just after Christmas 2018, I had a bug and she caught it and developed pneumonia. She spent three days in the hospital and three weeks at a nursing home. She's been back home ever since.  She can stand up with a walker  but needed two people to do it and  help her  to get on the toilet. We pay a friend of my brother to   come for one hour a day to  get her cleaned up and dressed.  The friend comes from 8-2 om Tues and Fri to hive ne some time away. Bust most of that time is  food shopping as it will be today. In the evenings a combo of me, my brother and my sister  take her in the bathroom where she can at least  take off her blouse and put on her nightgown.  As recently as two years ago, she could be left alone for a while but no longer.

She helped me out when I had a stroke 6 years ago by arranged to get me and my stuff home from CA) and this is the least I can do for her.

My sister and B-I-L  meanwhile have had to deal with their middle kid dying ,my B-I-L's  mother and brother (his only family) both having strokes and being in nursing homes and having to sell her house.

Wow, a lady I know wrote a book about the stress on the caregiver in dealing with people with Alzheimers/Dementia.  In our case, my father-in-law is currently principle caregiver, and he's a very accomplished guy used to controlling just about everything.  This has been extraordinarily hard on him.

God bless you man!

This post--this one right here shows the magic of human interaction.

When a crazed commie socialist big government giveaway guy and a crazed capitalist go f yerself deregulate everything guy meet at an intersection of compassion and good will, it's a beautiful thing.

They have an effect.

Look at Bloomberg in the primaries -- that was the highest-rated debate and he puked on himself, never to be heard from again.

Romney beat the crap out of Obama in their first debate, then he backed off and lost a lot of support by being soft.

I have a feeling this time around that people honestly want to see whether Biden has slipped so much from his last debate in March.  That's the murmurings -- he's got to prove doubters wrong, IMO.  It really isn't just political theater.

Trump will goad Biden into numerous blunders and possibly losing his temper.

Tibs, I am still keeping you on ignore, but my view of you has  increased a lot. Kemp is also going on ignore. He is the lowest slime on this board.

He's at the bottom for sure. His comments to you were over the line and if there was equal moderation, he'd be long gone.

But nobody knew Bloomberg, like they already know Trump and Biden. You are right that it killed Bloomberg, but that’s a different situation. Hillary annihilated Trump, And still lost election, and yes, Romney ate Obama’s lunch, as did John Kerry to Bush, but they all lost

I’ll kick Kemp out of that spot before this election—if we have one—is over!

Here's the difference this year:  all those people you mentioned could actually hold a conversation for 90 straight minutes, whether they won or lost the debate or the election.  With Biden, nobody is sure.  Seems to be an extremely important (low) hurdle to cross over.

Trump has been labeled an imbecile for four years.  Imagine if Biden can't come across as smarter than the imbecile.

There is of course the lowered expectation risk for Trump now too. He's lowered the expectations for Joe so much that if he doesn't set the podium on fire during the debate then the media will say Joe killed it.

The debate(s) will be really important for both sides.

@Kemp's comment about caregivers was one of the more embarrassing comments I've seen posted here, and I still see people quoting BillStime's stupidity, so that's saying something.
