... Unless it's origin point was a bioweapons lab in Wuhan. Then that kind of contagion makes way more sense (because they were designing it to be precisely that).

and/or if it was around since November, it could have spread to those projections. anyhoo, the paper is up for peer review, we will know what they think soon enough.

This is what I've been waiting for. I think when we see more of this data come to light we will see that this whole thing was considerably overblown and that the media and decision makers took advantage of gaudy death rate numbers that had no statistical verification and backing.

My bad. I missed that this was a pro tennis discussion.

As did I.

I think baseball could start up pretty quickly with a few rule changes like you get a 6 foot lead off of every base and you can't steal or try to pick them off.  Use electronic balls and strike caller.  Players not playing sit in stands  feet apart.

The only hangup is they couldn't spit.  I think that might make it dang near impossible.

When Trump said "county by county" as part of the presser yesterday, I was hoping Cuomo was listening and took it to heart.

Buffalo is  nearly 400 miles away from NYC.  Washington DC is closer to NYC. Heck, the North Carolina state line is just about the same distance to NYC as Buffalo is to NYC.  Big state. One size has never fit all, more so at this time.

Here is an interesting stat. There are 27000+ people per square mile in NYC.(let that sink in) Yet in the remainder of NYS there are 4 square miles per person on average. NYC and the remainder of the state need to be treated differently.

Gov Wolf’s plan that has no details at least says PA will reopen by region and sections within regions. Cuomo would have to do the same. NYC is India compared to Canada of the rest of NY.

Or you test players often and require they isolate themselves.

Trump up

He had a call with faith leaders earlier today.

https://www.whitehouse.gov/openingamerica/ (guidelines)

https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment if you have not gotten your check

Sonny Perdue will be implementing $19B relief program for farmers and ranchers. Direct payments, plus mass purchases to get to the people in need.

More money in July ($14B) for them.

Perdue up:  food supply chain starts with farmers and ranchers. They have been hard hit. USDA food assistance program. Two parts - direct payment to ranchers, farmers, producers ($16B), the funds that are currently in the CCC + COVID money. There will be additional CCC funds needed. The USDA will be purchasing ($3B) to distribute through food banks and other institutions (sounds like churches?)

Trump:
3.78M tests done (I "think" he said)
Distributed 660M Abbott tests.
Saliva test, self administered (he mentioned this the other day)
Governors are responsible for testing, he hopes they will be using the capacity we have.
The next week, states will receive 5.5M swab tests will be going out to the tests.
If the states need swabs, the feds will help them get them.

We will be helping Mexico and a few other countries out with ventilators.

There are 4 authorized antibody bests. Asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic.

He's praising American scientists.

Public/private partnership with us and other countries for testing. (I missed this whole part, might be worth seeking out the clip later.)
