My guess is the Colts.  They have the most money, and  calming force of Reich and Luck will be a good opposite for TY Hilton, and could possibly get them another ring.  Luck is playing like a stud now, they like their O Line, running game, and their defense is vastly improved.

They have a much better chance of beating the Pats than us next year.

I think his best fit is on the Colts.  Do the Colts give up their 1st to get it done??

Might not have to.  Colts own the Jests’ second round pick, which is near the top of the round...

Imagine getting AB for a 3rd this year, and 2nd next.  Then trading down in the draft.  Grabbing a OT in the 1st, then WR Deebo Samuel in the 2nd.   Suddenly, we have a top WR team.  Then we use the 3rd (that we get from trading down) on another OT, or DT.

good point.  The Steelers would take that in a minute.

Steelers are going to get far less for Brown than they think...they are basing compensation on his past performance while teams who trade for him and going to look at his future performance from age 31 to 35 and run thr most likely scenarios based on age declining production to see what they are a really going to be getting.

Couple this with 4 years of top WR contract money while most likely they will only get 2 actual years of top production and that's another drop in what teams will likely be willing to give up...

Steelers will end up not getting that much for him or will end up not trading him. Unless there is a fool of a GM who gives up a ton in a trade AND takes on a bloated contract AND is willing to deal with potential attitude problems/locker room issues...might be one or two out there but my bet is teams will be cautious and not willing to give up that much.

I’m normally for the players but I’ll let him rot on the sidelines rather than settle for a bad offer.

1) why do fans want AB after all this?  This guy is all about himself

2) he couldn’t keep it together for an annual playoff contender with a HOF qb.  You think he would be happier in Buffalo?  This would be a disaster.

This stuff is so meaningless.  Know how you become a “national brand?”  Win!

He's the best WR in the NFL, other than Larry Fitzgerald what WR isn't all about himself? Moss/Brown/Rice/Owens, the list goes on most WR are total divas. I want difference makers on both sides of the field, why are we always the team on the outside looking in? Even if he only lasts 2 more seasons at an elite level imagine what he gives our young QB?

About your point #2, you have no clue what was said between him and Roethlisberger, it obviously blew up and he used the media to get out which is unfortunate. Why wouldn't you want AB on this team is what I'm wondering? You want every player to be a Choir boy? Some of the very best players come with alot of baggage, TO was supposed to be a huge diva but he was very quiet here, why can't Brown?

AB would get so blown up by his peers if he downgraded all the way to Buffalo, that his ego (and his agent, whose business would also be damaged for sending his player to the "north pole") would prevent him from signing with the Bills at any price.   For players and agents, this is business, nothing personal, and pro bowl players at skill positions making moves to the Bills is just plain bad for business.   Potential clients would forever look sideways at the agent ("you couldn't do better than Buffalo, for crying out loud, for AB in his prime??? " ) , and commercial deals for the player would dry up ("you thought commercial deals were scarce in Pittsburgh, wait til you get to Buffalo") .   Look at Shady's reaction when he was traded, look at Kelly's reaction when he was drafted, the list goes on... now we all know they warmed up to the place because it is not a awful as the world portrays it, but a FA (and his wife, importantly) with choices most times will  not take the chance.  Just sayin' .  This movie has been played dozens of times with the Bills and coaches and top players at skill positions , so we know how it goes.   Drafting talented , solid homeboy type players  ,  plus taking your cap surplus and signing your own guys at the end of their rookie deal is the path for this franchise.   Free agency is great, but let's not get our hopes up too high.

No offense, but this post makes no sense and is not very accurate.

Well the issue is what other teams will consider a fair offer based on the points I stated, the Steelers will consider a bad offer because as the team he has played on its impossible to separate themselves from his past performance for them versus his likely future performance...teams players have played on for a long time will give them contracts based on their past performance all the time even when they are past their prime and not worth the money any more...Pittsburgh will have a hard time reconciling this with what other teams will feel is fair based on what they will be getting in the future, not on what he has done in the past.

I think Big Ben is a piece of crap.  That doesn’t excuse Brown’s behavior.  He has a bunch of off the field issues that aren’t Big Ben’s fault.  Ryan Clark said money made him a monster. He went from a 6th round pick to a diva who is completely thirsty for attention.  And for much as Big Ben is an idiot, he is a HOF qb who has 2 rings.  You really believe Brown would come to Buffalo and listen to Josh Allen?  I’m glad fans have big plans for Allen but most of the league still sees a ton of fault in him.  Brown would hate it and he’s not the type of guy to be quiet about it.

and which of those diva receivers are SB champions or make their team’s playoff contenders?  Between TO, Moss, and Brown (why is Rice on there?), there are 0 championships.  Team chemistry matters in football more than any sport.  There are plenty of good receivers, Calvin Johnson, AJ Green, Hopkins, who aren’t selfish idiots.  Find one in the draft for much cheaper and less headaches.

I don’t disagree.  But they still hold the cards.  Brown is so desperate for attention, not being in the spotlight would kill him.

Bell and Brown to Indy and the best we could hope for is runner up for the next 3-4 years.

BOTH TO INDY????!!!   Hopefully not enough cash for that.  You're right.  That team would be a juggernaut.  Hopefully we get our Brown in this years draft, (or Foster might be him??); and add a Bell.  A good OL is the key to both.

They could or give compensation and keep their draft picks.  They do have 9 picks so if AB (I will never call him Mr. Big Chest - Ass) so b/ they are close and can afford him, they could do one or the other.

You also need to have money.  Brown like McCoy will be fine if you give him some cash.  Brown is signed for 3 years with 0 money besides game checks.  That takes alot of teams off the table.

I'd just like to take a moment away from the AB speculation to thank the Steelers for being the anti-Rams, and going all in on a fat, POS QB at the end of his career and axing the talent around him, keeping only the mediocre coach who believes in him (that said talent hated)--instead of just doing the easy thing and drafting a new QB who would inherit a team loaded with talent, and giving him an up and coming HC to work with, because they would have the pick of the litter for coaches, because they're the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I know they'll figure it out sooner rather than later, and have JuJu to make it work, but sigh of relief for them "moving on" from the best RB and WR in the game to appease an over the hill QB.

Does the niners lack on interest mean our chances just got better?

The only way this affects our chances is IF we are pursuing him and it eliminates a competitor bidding on his trade.

But, if Beane and McD don't play on pursuing a trade for AB, then our odds were already at 0% an another team dropping doesn't change our 0% chance.

Personally, I don't think Beane is going to pursue him.  McD and Beane both are draft guys, they fully believe in building through the draft.  And this years draft group of WR's is both very good and deep.  Lots of value.  And listening to McD and Beane talk about the WR position at the combine only furthers this belief.  They don't feel they need some clear cut #1. I think their plan is to be a good group of WR's out there that all excel at different parts of the game.  I don't think their focus is in finding one dominant #1 WR.

If we make a trade, I think the most likely candidate will be with the Bengals for Ross.  If they can flip one of their extra 4ths or 5ths for him I think they might look into it.  But I certainly do not think they would trade anything more than one of our 4th round picks, nor should they.

So to answer your question, no I do not think this impacts us in anyway.
