Please treat me like an illegal immigrant

Boston Herald, by Howie Carr

Original Article

If I ever get jammed up with the law, I ask for no special treatment. Just treat me like an illegal immigrant. Forget the 14th Amendment. I don’t want no stinkin’ “equal protection under the law.” What I fervently desire is some illegal-immigrant protection under the law — which basically means no laws. Seriously, that’s what the woke community is now espousing for the fentanyl-dealing, drunken-driving, gangbanging, identity-stealing MS-13 community livin’ high on the dole here, compliments of Tio Sap.

Yes, of course they are!! ?

In just minutes!!! How stupid

SAN DIEGO — Smuggling gangs in Mexico have repeatedly sawed through new sections of President Trump’s border wall in recent months by using commercially available power tools, opening gaps large enough for people and drug loads to pass through, according to U.S. agents and officials with knowledge of the damage.

The breaches have been made using a popular cordless household tool known as a reciprocating saw that retails at hardware stores for as little as $100. When fitted with specialized blades, the saws can slice through one of the barrier’s steel-and-concrete bollards in a matter of minutes, according to the agents, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the barrier-defeating techniques.

Let there be no doubt the Left caused this problem by reneging on the deal they had with Trump with funding The Wall for $25b and Trump agreeing to sign legislation making 1.8 million DACA people legal residents. One of their liberal judges set things back for two years. This is not the time for Trump to threaten deportation in order to leverage a deal. That would give the dems a false talking point. After Trump wins in November there will be a reckoning.

As they should be, since it's a DHS memo concerning the exercise of prosecutorial discretion with respect to individuals who came to the United States as children, and confers no substantive right, immigration status, or pathway to citizenship, because only Congress, acting through its legislative authority, can confer those rights.

To deny the President the right to overturn an exercise of prosecutorial discretion set forth not by his predecessor, but by his predecessor's subordinate, would be utterly ridiculous.

This is where the progressives will jump up and say it's cruel to repeal it.  To which I repeat: no, it's cruel to maintain it as is, since it confers no substantive right, immigration status, or pathway to citizenship, because only Congress, acting through its legislative authority, can confer those rights.  So have Congress confer the rights, and repeal this illegal nonsense.

How dare they make the dems compromise and take one of their political issues away?

Really, though, I'm looking for someone - anyone - to disagree with what I posted.

Normally, you would get TOC or Busey to refute it "because...shut up," but you had too many multisyllabic words. You need to dumb it down.

They're not my "big words."  I'm quoting the memo directly.

The subject is "Exercising Prosecutorial Discretion with Respect to Individuals Who Came to the United States as Children."  The first two lines of the last paragraph is "This memorandum confers no substantive right, immigration status or pathway to citizenship. Only the Congress, acting through its legislative authority, can confer these rights."  https://www.dhs.gov/xlibrary/assets/s1-exercising-prosecutorial-discretion-individuals-who-came-to-us-as-children.pdf

I was REALLY looking forward to a DACA supporter explicitly disagreeing with the memo establishing it.

This is the best I could do in the absence of the local DACA supporters...

It's an eloquent speech that articulates the issues clearly and directly refutes your position that a contemporary POTUS should be able to rescind a memo of a previous President's subordinate.

Not only that, but there's a fine summation at the end by an early MSM/Politico operative that couches the arguments of the speaker in a manner that the general populace can understand.

ICE, Washington Co. Sheriff’s Office clash over suspect released from jail in August

https://www.kptv.com/news/ice-washington-co-sheriff-s-office-clash-over-suspect-released/article_b76a31d4-0b36-11ea-8e3e-6bdac91a00c9.html
"Deputies said he posted bail Aug. 8. Investigators subsequently learned Maldonado-Hernandez fled to Mexico. Three people accused of helping him were arrested on charges of hindering prosecution.

On Tuesday, ICE issued a press release about the case, saying they had lodged an immigration detainer regarding Maldonado-Hernandez on July 16.

“On August 8, the jail failed to honor the detainer and released Maldonado-Hernandez back into the community he had previously victimized,” according to ICE."

This brought back memories. My friend lost her brother to an illegal in a car crash in Oregon who was also released and fled to Mexico.

ICE "detainers" are legally meaningless, and are actually illegal for local law enforcement to honor. Notification is fine, but what the article fails to mention is that these "detainers" are documents typed up and signed by a random ICE agent that tries to order local law enforcement to hold someone for up to 48 hours so that ICE can get off their lazy asses and get someone there to pick the person up.

ICE Agent Joe Blow cannot order someone held in a local jail for any amount of time. If ICE isn't there when the illegal alien is walking out the front door of the jail, that's on them.

Peter Buttigieg, the Mayor of South Bend (a small city in Indiana) is pretending to be a “moderate” Democrat, aiming at attracting away the supporters of Joe Biden worried about his increasingly bizarre behavior.   But his body language betrayed his true radicalism and desire to pander to far left yesterday, appearing with Reverend William Barber at an event sponsored by the Poor People’s Campaign. Ryan Saavedra of the Daily Wire noticed:

“Let me ask you a couple quick rapid-fire [questions],” Barber began. “Do you think we need to also stop allowing forces to demonize ‘people who are trying to get their immigration status’ and we start lifting up all the ways they benefit this country?”

“Yeah, I mean the uncomfortable reality is that undocumented folks are in many ways, like Social Security, subsidizing everybody else,” Buttigieg claimed.

“And we need to talk about that – and shouldn’t we have some conversation whenever people say, we call people ‘illegal aliens’ and all these things that are not human, are certainly not Christian,” Barber continued. “Why can’t we just own in America that some of the people that are trying to come from Mexico here are coming back to land we stole, and the reason we took the land is because people wanted to keep their slaves?

Watch as Buttigieg nods in agreement:

This position that the United States illegitimately exercises sovereignty over the western United States is popular on the radical fringe,

"A video taken by a Mexican citizen shows the newly replaced border fence in Mexicali being scaled by two men with a rope ladder, one of whom makes it over to the United States.

The 38-second video shows a pair of men climbing the ladder while another holds it on the Mexico side of the border. After one man successfully slides down the railing to the U.S. side and starts running toward a second structure, another begins yelling in Spanish, "Hurry, hurry, jump the fence."

A vehicle that appears to belong to U.S. Border Patrol then pulls up and officials emerge, prompting the other men to gather the ladder and slide back down the fence into Mexico.

The 16-year-old Mexican citizen who ran into the U.S. was apprehended by Border Patrol, Assistant Chief Patrol Agent Joshua Devack said in a video statement posted to Twitter.

"All too often, criminal organizations exploit juveniles in this regard," Devack said in the video, which was shot at the same location.

U.S. immigration officials are working with Mexican authorities to locate the other two men, he said.

"In this particular incident, the border wall system worked exactly as designed," Devack said, noting detection technology and agent response."

The wall was never designed to eliminate all illegal aliens. It was designed to slow them down enough while crossing that they would be caught. It was never intended to be 100% effective because that would be too expensive. This is the wrong hill for you to die on.
