Week 1 of the 2018 NFL season is in the books and boy, was it a forgettable week. The Buffalo Bills got their tails whipped and they already have to go back to the drawing board. But that happens every week whether you win or lose. That’s the name of the game. But after another shoddy performance by second-year quarterback Nathan Peterman, Bills fans are now wondering if they should just start rookie Josh Allen?

The funny thing is that this coaching staff told you, very clearly, that he is not ready in their opinion.

That's why he didn't start in Baltimore.

Now they are probably going to start him anyway, if not this week, then soon.

Makes the coaches look bad IMO.

Probably not.

He holds the ball too long behind an offensive line that can't pass protect.

Yeah.  How's Winston doing again?

Allen will take some shots behind that line to be sure.  I would have preferred he sit some first, but looks like he's going to be baptized by fire.

I love what I’ve seen out of Allen in terms of maturity so far.  Not that he has faced major adversity, but he has handled smaller things like his tweets and Ramsey’s comments like a pro.

We could be a whole different team if he starts.  He can do what Darnold did yesterday, imo.

Neither of our qb's is ready to be a starter in the NFL. However, one of them has the potential to be a franchise guy and one of them does not. It's a no brainer unless your goal is to give Nate Peterman some cherished memories to sustain him as he begins his second career as dead account specialist for Bank of America sometime later this fall.

I would not start JA against the Chargers and certainly not against Minni. After that the schedule lightens up a bit.

So I guess that means I'd start Nate the next two games.

No Liuget and likely no Bosa on their DL this week.

Whos wondering?

look- if Allen isn’t ready, go get us Thad Lewis, or any other arm with a pulse attached to it. Paxton Lynch sure !  I’d almost rather see Tim Tebow..  and I threw up typing that

It's not all on Allen.  Three good RB's--pound the ball.  Use PA, use rollouts.  Occasionally, let Allen's great arm stretch the field, take some chances.

I personally won't mind a Bills loss if it's competitive.  I just want to see this team actually play the game of football, unlike last Sunday.

True but still a tough D. Thing is I also wouldn't want JA to face Minni. Wouldn't make sense to start him against LA and then sit him. If and when he starts he is and remains the #1 guy.

Can't be scared of giving him actual game experience.  Game plan for what he does well and give him easy and well defined reads.  No more Nathan Peterman as it's just a waste of time.

Right. This comes down to coaching. The great Nate Hackett was able to prepare the likes of Jeff Tuel well enough to not be a source of national embarrassment. Allen should be good enough to produce a respectable effort.

I'm shocked we have not signed a QB. Josh will get a hurt for a  few series or games. NP will be back in sooner then later. QB mismanagement has plagued Bills since Kelly retired.
