Even if it’s not complete it will help keep the DBs honest. It's funny because that's exactly what I thought. And my immediate next thought was that the Ravens would know this too and sneak a safety over looking for just that play. Or Nate would get killed because he only had 1.9 seconds to throw. I'm sure the team knows Peterman is temporary. Shady said it a couple months ago, everyone can see Allen's talent and it's only a matter of time before he gets the start. Taking Tyrod out halfway through the season with a winning record is much harder to come back from than sitting the rookie for the first few games. McDermott doesn't have to apologize for that no matter how it turns out. Few rookie QBs start week 1. Probably not. But if it's a disaster he will. I'm sure he is not going to throw five INTs. If he doesn't, it's a waste of valuable time in a season in which wins aren't expected. Personally I'm not holding my breath on the first part, but it's good to have goals. If Peterman actually plays well this season you don’t trade him. He’s insurance in case the #7 pick doesn’t develop like you hope. It would be just like the Bills to trade away a QB who plays well with just the hope that someone else might be better. All the Bills should be hoping for is that one of these two young QBs turns into a legit franchise guy. I'll be rooting like hell for Peterman to surprise the world, but everything I've seen from him in terms of arm talent is preparing me for a long Sunday morning. But I don't have a crystal ball. lets hold on to Peterman a bit longer. he might be the perfect back up in Buffalo. and because Bills are likely to run a Patriots style offense. peterman might survive the Ravens and the Chargers. McCarron stated their cases to be QB1 — that each would be afforded a fair shot to win it. To his credit, McDermott did not deviate from that plan as they all started one of the first three preseason games, and they all took plenty of reps with the first-string offense in training camp. When all the evaluations were concluded, the evidence was clear-cut in favor of Peterman, and McDermott made the undeniably proper and logical call. I'm sorry, I think Peterman totally blows and it's a big waste of time seeing him starting. His arm talent doesn't allow him to be a good NFL QB. Since they got rid of McCarron, I would much rather see Allen go through the growing pains than see Peterman start. I hope I am wrong about Peterman. If I have to work Sunday and can't watch the game.............. I can see the update I get around 2;50pm................... Ravens 27-3 with 4:30 to go in the 3rd quarter and Peterman is 11-26-93yards, 3 INT's Peterman is Trent Edwards with a weaker arm................. if that's possible. Fair enough. It's a long season for rookies compared to college. Personally, I have no problem with NP starting the 1st 4 games (if he survives).
