Peterman usually looks good with his timing and knowledge, but then you see throws that make you wonder if I butt punched a slo-mo button on the remote. I believe he can do that in an NFL game. The next drive was spot on. I do put that interception on Peterman. The guy shouldn't have tipped it up but it looked off the mark and you want your players attempting to make plays. I think it's just who Nathan Peterman is. Just by the book QB. He reads the situation and reacts and will be risky sometimes when our guy is off his mark. I'm sure Nathan Peterman would love more time for plays to develop. I’ve said it multiple times (and may be wrong) but when the bullets start flying I don’t see Peterman succeeding. The opposing team will get pressure (easily), jam the receivers and run under every route. They are so incredibly easy to defense. The only way to succeed is to escape the rush and make some plays over the top. That’s the only way you are going to keep teams from playing 11 guys up. To me, Allen is clearly the guy to do that. He also may be able to zing some of those outs and slants by the guys jumping routes. Those can also become big plays. Peterman is no where close to a 7 until he shows it on the field. You don’t become a 7 on a scale of 1-10 when the GOAT is a 10 because you have a high comp % against backups and scrubs in preseason who aren’t even game planning to beat you really. Peterman hasn’t earned that grade yet. Not to mention, he lacks the natural ability to effectively use like 20 to 30% of the field. So can’t give it to him based on perceived physical gifts either. None of our QBs are higher than say a 5.5 right now, because all are unproven or raw. I was willing to have Allen go game one if he clearly won the qb battle. Imo Peterman won. That’s not a knock on Allen I just think he could benefit from a little more time working/learning. Very rarely does Brady make a big throw that requires a lot of arm. And in the last couple of years, when he does, the ball is often under thrown or weakly thrown. Most throws in this league are not long and they don't need to be. Nate's style of quick releasing accurate throws for a gain of 6 yards reminds me a ton of Brady.
