What better way to bolster our team with young talent than to have 4 first round picks. I seriously don’t think Thyrod can take us to the promised land...but other teams think so. Denver, Jets, Cardinals or even the Jags would steal Tyrod from us quicker than a farmer swiping bacon from a griddle. The point is, Tyrod can be tagged based on ambiguous language in the NFL rules because he’s a “potential” free agent. I can see OBD thinking they have a piece of gold in Tyrod everyone wants, sadly that piece of gold is really a piece of something else and truth is IMO they will get stuck holding it all season since other teams know it's fool's gold and will stay far away from any type of trade for 18mill let alone 25mill. Great job Russ this thread is for you It wasn't long ago that Cleveland assumed the huuuge contract for Brock Osweiler plus a second rounder from the Texans. The idea being that the Browns had the cap space to eat a big contract and still get a second round draft pick. Al I'm suggesting is that we eat a little money to acquire two first round picks. Since father time won't kill the Patriots* we need to look at other options. Step one: Get Terry Pegs on the competition committee Step two: Terry Pegs uses his position to change the rules so microphones in helmets/hand signals from the sidelines become illegal We already have a young coach who could then be signed as the "quarterback" of the defense. Player/coach Sean would also be invaluable as an on field motivator (see: clapping). Patriots* would then be forced to sign Hoodie as the quarterback of their defense, but he is so old and slow. Also not a good motivator. He might be able to call good plays but it would be like the Patriots* defense is playing a man down every play. That solves the defense. Not sure on offense what to do yet. Maybe change the rules so only first round picks can play QB? (Brady totally has to retire or change positions) The braintrust can come up with something better.
