So nothing about how the team is 3-6 down the stretch may have changed their minds? Nothing about how the defense has under performed being led by Rex could have led to a change of heart? Nothing about how the team has look completely unprepared this year could have changed their minds?

They can still finish 8-8 and were not mathematically eliminated until their 15th game. They came close to making it but fell short in a highscoring overtime game.

No playoffs. He's fired. There was an ultimatum and this really can't be denied at this point.

Hence the way they fell flat over the last part of the season brought this on, a 33% winning percentage. When that happens you in turn do not make the playoffs.

Um he also said Whaley would be gone too. So Vic was wrong, the report was that he told both Rex and Whaley to fix the Bills in a year.

Incorrect report if Whaley is still there, so why should he apologize?

So Pegula was only half lying, he doesn't have to retract his bogus denial? Whaley saved his own skin.

2 months ago:

“You have to have continuity,” Pegula told the paper from the NFL owners meetings. “I don’t care if you’re drilling oil in gas wells or you’re running a sports team. If you keep changing things, nothing’s going to work.”

The Bills went 8-8 in the first year under Ryan and the coach seemed to have lost his touch on defense, surrendering 359 points. With the hallmark of his coaching style being questioned and a sixteen-year playoff drought looming, many fans were calling for Ryan’s head on a platter.

“Our coach needs to know that, through the good and the bad, there’s stability. The players need to know there’s stability,” Pegula said. “And by the way, that doesn’t help our players any to start reading that their coach is going to get fired.”

Sure it can. Rex gave ample reason to change direction. People can change their mind without having had a plan in place before hand.

Or there never was an ultimatum given.

Then why is Rex fired? read Petula's reaffirmation of his denial from October

I would agree---except that there was a report of such a plan and that plan was carried out, despite the Bills coming closer to making the playoffs.

Because his team has gone 3-6 down the stretch and they defense has looked like :censored: , which is supposedly his forte.

“No,” said Pegula when asked if he could have fired Ryan. “We just hired the guys! Doug’s a new GM basically (promoted in May 2013). And we just hired Rex. We’re talking about continuity, and the players need that.”

So he was being honest when he said this? It was Oct 23rd...

Coming close to making the playoffs completely caused him to reverse his statements on his HC?

One year ago, he broke the story "one more year to turn things around".

Pegula denied, denied denied---and repeated it as recently as October.

Vito Carlucci.

In the mood for spaghetti and meatballs now with a flavorful red.

The :censored: show on the field brought this on. When you are "known for defense", the offense is not the problem, you give up three 200+ yard rushing games to opposing RB's, the secondary looks like you and your friends at the playground calling out who is guarding who, and your guys look like they quit on you at least a couple of games then what did you expect to happen? Let's keep that continuity thing going? .......... Riiiiiiiight
