Seantral AWOL since end of season (not really)

Recommended Posts

When Whaley was interview on WGR last week he referred to Henderson being in the RT competition. Based upon that it seems as if he knew what was going on. I think it's highly possible that Rex knew too, but didn't want to discuss his medical condition. Nevertheless, the coaches are at fault for not reaching out to him.

If everyone knew, is this a couple of morons going rogue to the press then?

Also, like I said up thread- it's such an easy question to answer without making the player or team uncomfortable. It's silly to have played games.

And both of those are before we even get to the coaches not reaching out

I'm not being dramatic and saying its a major deal or make a mountain out of a molehill.... Just seems like we aren't doing great with some of the easy stuff lately, even if assuming the best.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this yet but I'm 100% positive Whaley commented on Henderson's condition not too long before the Draft on WGR...And his comments were basically that Henderson was doing very well...He made a point of saying...basically...The Bills were very encouraged with the news they were getting on Henderson's health... B-)

At this point, and with so much "information" coming out, I have to believe that Rex, et al, are merely keeping their cards close to their chest. As I Mentioned in another post, when was the last time anyone took an injury report from the Pats* seriously? This is de rigueur in the league. Were they to be spilling information pell mell, then we should be concerned.

That being said, considering the potential severity of the disease, and what e know so far, it's hard to imagine that we are going to see Seantrel starting this season, or the next.

From Dunne's first article: After last week’s open organized team activity (OTA) practice, head coach Rex Ryan began by calling the right tackle's absence “a medical thing,” before admitting they haven’t spoken since the last day of last season.

Another stellar example of a nattering nabobs of negativity. Just plain make up some BS story- of course making it a negative doom and gloom story - rather than doing your job and actually checking something out. Should be fired for the "moving on" article.

Just like the czar nonsense by LaConjecture and Carucci that some got all worked up by.

How many times have the Nabob's from the news trashed the front office at One Bills Drive? How many times? How many different writers?

Henderson's agent had to reach out to Tyler Dunne? are you kidding me? A supposedly professional writer at a supposed big city newspaper did not even call his agent before classifying him as AWOL?

What utter incompetence- somehow this will be Rex or Whaley's fault though-

The poor article is not Rex's fault. Rex not giving a crap about his player enough to check on him or speak with him, is not the reporter's fault, the agent's fault, or the player's fault.

imho, SH is likely to be seriously under weight and strength......would not surprise me to see him on some list this year, as recovering from whatever. My wife had similar surgery, and lost a lot of weight...which is slow to regain. Wish him the best, though. Return as fast as possible, no faster though.

He recovered?

This doesn't upset me. RG, and RT are positions that can be upgraded in free agency. The best of these positions are in their late twenties, early thirties. At this position, rookies will take time to develop. Miller would be an excellent example of this. I have little doubt that he will blossom into a first rate Guard. For this position, youth is less of an upside than experience, IMO. Let's see what they do to improve this position over the next few weeks before we pass judgement.

Well, free agency is essentially over now with all of the solid options long gone. Miller has quite the hill to climb to become even average on top of not being an injury puppy. That's a lot to ask any no one should have much faith in that situation re: him. He played so poorly last season and for sure massively inconsistently.

I have quite a bit of doubt that he'll ever blossom into much more than a backup G. There's absolutely nothing concrete to suggest otherwise.

You say "let's wait and see what they do to improve this position over the next few weeks before we pass judgement."

Like what? What can they do? Be specific.

Is there a free agent G out there that we can afford with a proven history of solid starting?

I don't see what they can do. We have what we have. If they have extra cap money they need to put it towards Gilmore's contract.

Jahri Evans and Louis Vasquez.

Jahri Evans and Louis Vasquez.

To start neither of those guys is much better than average tops.

Vasquez is known to be a poor run blocker, and since our entire offense revolves around the run this season do you think he'd be a good fit?

Do you think he'll play for veteran minimum which is all that we can afford? I did mention that.

Evans will be 33 this season and if you've done your homework you'd know that he's injury prone. As well, you think he'll play for the minimum? I don't. We don't seem to have money to pay anyone anymore.

Yeah, I saw that you mentioned that. And it was a dumb statement because the Bills have almost $13M in cap room.

And given your assessment of Miller, wouldn't "average" (they're above average, hell Vasquez won a SB playing RG last season) be an upgrade?

The little bit of reading I did on Crohn's disease makes me suspect that we have likely seen the last of Henderson in a Bills uniform. It's no joke, especially when it is severe, which if he received surgery for it-- it is. There is no cure, it's chronic, and there will be flare-ups, and remissions. If he hasn't been in contact with the FO, or Rex, I would think it is safe to assume he doesn't have any good news.

I have Crohn's. A pretty bad case. Have had 5 surgeries. I had the two he had. The last surgery was 16 years ago. Since then I have done pretty well and have been an active participant in sports.

There are many ways to treat Crohn's. The problem is finding the one that works for you. If he has found the correct one, he can play, with no loss in effectiveness. It's way too early to know his immediate outcome.

If he had them reattached, he must have had a colostomy.

More likely, an ileostomy.

I am worried about the person at this point then the player

Get well Seantrell

+1. It is a shame that the Agent and the Bills are using this as a way to get dirty laundry in the public. Nothing should matter than the health of the young man.
