Shady's value to the Bills...

Recommended Posts

He's gone by 2018. He should be gone by 2017. I'd have never resigned him. He is a quarter of a dozen back. You can get equal production out of a rookie. Or udfa. In a good offense in the right system the Rb can be plug and play. Only 3-4 rbs are truly transcendental. That take over a game, a scheme and carry their team. And that's not because their skill. Jon Stewart was a major been factor of newton ad vice versa.

3 down, complete backs are rare and not easily replaced. That's why Elliott got drafted so high. McCoy is worth every penny and I said that out loud multiple times watching him play this year. How soon people forget what a difference maker he was for the offense when he was on the field. If you didn't realize it then, it was certainly obvious when he was not on the field.

The first Jets game, for example. I know Karlos caught the TD pass, but the Bills don't win that game without Shady.

This is amazing. You whine about how terrible the team is and you want to make the team worse by getting rid of the focal point of the top rushing offense.

Off season TSW strikes again. Hot take overload this month.

It's getting harder to find stuff to complain about. It used to be easy. Ralph was cheap, our coaches were all third class rejects, the team was devoid of talent. Now it takes some serious convoluted thinking to come up with stuff. But never underestimate TBD.

It's like deja vu all over again..

.In his 12 games, 7 were losses. In 4 of those 7 losses, he had an avg of 65 YPG rushing. In the 5 wins, 2 of them he rushed for 41 and 16 yards. In the loss to Phil, he had 4 catches for 35 yards. 3 for 31 in the loss to KC. 7 in the win against Miami and 4 in the loss to Cincy

It's easier if you just list them all out

Opponent Rushes Passes

Colts 17/41 yards 3/46 yards

Patriots 15/89 yards 3/27 yards

Dolphins 11/16 yards 1/10 yards 1 td

Bengals 17/90 yards 2/4 yards 1 td

Jaguars 18/68 yards 2/36 yards

Dolphins 16/112 yards 2/7 yards 1 td

Jets 19/112 yards 5/47 yards

Patriots 20/82 yards 6/41 yards 1 td

Chiefs 19/70 yards 3/31 yards 1 td

Texans 21/112 yards 0/0 yards

Eagles 20/74 yards 4/35 yards

Redskins 10/29 yards 1/8 yards

Let's apply your logic to the Rams and Todd Gurley. In Gurley's 13 games, 7 were losses, and in those losses he averaged 61 ypg rushing. In the 6 wins, 2 of them he rushed for 48 and 83 yards.

It's clear that there is no correlation that Gurley helps the Rams win games.

A fan, or fanatic, sometimes also called aficionado or supporter, is a person who is enthusiastically devoted .

What is the difficult part here ?

Those that call themselves realists , are much more in line with " Observers "

I am not saying all opinions should not have some value, but this dividing of the board here is silly.

If you don't like the the team, then find another.
if you are just unhappy with life? Get counseling.

Yes McCoy has ability other backs don't and he is a top ten back. And if this was madden or the circumstances were different he is damn good. But we are going to pay him a lot not to be a Bill in a few years. We are going to see his production drop off. He isn't a utility back nor a true down field threat catching. He can make stuff happen. But he's nor worth the price

e-man, do you think that the eagles had any reason to get rid of Shady?

Was it because Chip Kelly is a racist? ;):)

I don't think using what Chip Kelly the GM thinks is the best idea. But the answer the question:

Their relationship was contentious even when things were going well. Kelly has also developed the rep that he considers his system over the talent of his players, who he considers disposable.

After trading Shady and getting Murray, he still tried to run Murray out of shotgun snaps when Murray was a mauler. He picked up a Woods type player in Agholor, and tried to make him a DeSean Jackson burner while letting Maclin walk. He put Byron Maxwell, a zone corner, in tight bump and run coverage to cringe worthy results.

So when your RB is replacable, why not trade him from one of your linebackers?

Except Murray was a nightmare.

Again you are incorrect. They will not be "paying him a lot not to be a Bill" -- have you looked at his contract? It's structured to be very easy to walk away from him after the 2017 season, just as he is closing in on 30 years of age.

He is here for two more years, he showed plenty of elusiveness when he was healthy. He was also the best RB against the Blitz by a large margain. The contract is far from perfect and his personality follows suit. It is however foolish to think they will cut him after this year and eat dead money just for the sake of it. After 17' he will be gone and by then he won't have much tread left on the tires if Roman gets his way.

Indeed--there's very little cap room to be gained from cutting him after 2016, so he's virtually guaranteed to be here through then (barring a career-ending injury, of course).
