This is not an indictment of Buffalo given I was born and raised there and my best weekend of the year is taking my boys to the game along with we made it up to 18 relatives going together this year. Guys in Tampa, we've had a bunch of SB and these corporate types are not going to Buffalo in February. Not in the Taj Mahal of dome stadiums. Besides for regular guys like us, who cares about a SB in your city. It clogs up traffic, your priced out of anything interesting, and simply not worth it. Buffalo doesn't have the hotels or the other parameters so this lure of a stadium is BS on getting a SB. Bottom line is we'll get a new stadium after the lease, and it will probably be down in the 1st ward, and linked into Pegulas other investments. They would still draw fans from California (less than a 1 hour flight from LA or San Fran) plus the local population plus all the visitors that flock to Vegas. In fact, Vegas is perfect for the NFL. I think that Southern California will be a disaster within a span of 5 years for the Rams and/or Chargers, the fans, and their respective owners. There will be low attendance (ala Jacksonville) due to abhorrent traffic (LA has 24/7 traffic ... really really bad traffic all the time, I used to live there), stifling cost to the fan (tix and parking), cost of living for players will increase 3-4x what they were paying ..... and low revenues for owners. Building a new stadium in SOCAL will cost well over 2 bil due to the cost of building in that state plus requirements to use union workers. I respectively disagree with "plus all the visitors that flock to Vegas." I don't think people would want to give up a whole day of their Las Vegas trip for an NFL game. Even less so if you can see one at home. Tickets will probably be exorbitant. Like most NFL tickets, you will have buy them months in advance. Much easier to get tickets to a show. Based on your quote, why would all these "visitors" even root for the Raiders when they probably already have a fav team? I don't think Las Vegas and the NFL go together. They wouldn't really even have a true "home" crowd. I also disagree with your prediction that attendance will be low in LA. Outrageous, my friend! It'll be a hot ticket. I bet every home game will be sold out. And it doesn't matter if it costs $2B. It will get built. I'm familiar with the Hollywood Park area where the stadium will be built and it is at the intersection of two major freeways and is easy to get to. Pittsburgh build their new stadium and the NFL laughed at them when the Rooney's asked for Pittsburgh's turn to reap some awards...... Agreed. & with all the money in that city thru the Casinos & such I don't think selling corporate suites for big time money would ever be a problem. You know every Casino is going to want to have their own suite if for nothing else than to give it away on game days to their high rollers.
