Civil rights leaders refuse to attend Mississippi museum opening

Saturday morning President Trump traveled to Jackson, Mississippi to attend the opening of the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum and to recognize the 200th anniversary of when Mississippi became the 20th state on Sunday. Unfortunately, the mere act of extending an invitation to the president brought swift criticism and the temper tantrums began on the left.

{snip}

“We will never cede the stage to an individual who will fight against us,” Johnson said. “We will not allow the history of those who sacrificed to be tarnished for political expediency.”

That is exactly what Mr. Johnson did, though. Johnson ceded the stage by not showing up and allowing President Trump to be the one in the spotlight. Trump was simply performing a very basic and common task for a president, showing up for the opening of an important museum for American history. The Republican Governor of Mississippi, Phil Bryant, extended the invitation to Trump. Mr. Johnson was the one showing a penchant for political expediency. Let’s not pretend that it isn’t standard political hackery to label Republicans as racist.

Do you know who was in attendance, though? Mrs. Myrlie Evers, the widow of Medgar Evans, a true legend in Mississippi. She was in the audience as Trump delivered his remarks and received a standing ovation as Trump acknowledged her presence. She spoke later at the public ceremony outside the museum. It was noted that she didn’t say the president’s name and that’s ok. She handled the situation with dignity. “Regardless of race, creed or color, we are all Americans. … If Mississippi can rise to the occasion, then the rest of the country should be able to do the same thing.”

“Democrats’ #Resistance is creating a genuine constitutional crisis”

by William Jacobson

Georgetown Law Prof. Randy Barnett: “…. in which governmental power is not allowed by them to be peacefully transferred after a lawful election”

FTA:

In a post on December 12, 2016, about the attempt to undermine the Electoral College, I wrote The one thing you must understand about the unfolding media-Democrat Electoral College coup attempt:

We are witnessing nothing short of an attempt to steal the election by some Democrats and a very supportive mainstream and leftwing media, by causing Electors in the Electoral College to go rogue and vote for Hillary, or at least not vote for Trump….

These are not, with few exceptions, people who actually believe that something has changed so dramatically since the election that the Electors need to intervene. Rather, this is a pure power play to undermine the electoral system by people who never thought Trump was fit for office for reasons unrelated to Russia, who now are using the Russian “hack” as an excuse.

Do you really think that Nancy Pelosi’s daughter, an Elector demanding a CIA briefing to vet the accusations against Trump, actually and honestly believes anything other than that she never wanted Trump to be president?

It’s one thing to say that allegations of foreign tampering should be thoroughly investigated. They should. But it’s quite a different thing to use that alleged tampering to overturn elections.

And so it continues, with

  • the apparent set-up of the incoming administration on a phony Logan Act violation,
  • the Mueller investigation that obviously has strayed far from alleged Russian interference in the election to post-election political strategy of the incoming Trump administration,
  • the unprecedented delay in confirming nominees that Dems didn’t even object to for the sake of depriving Trump of the ability to control the bureaucracy,
  • the rogue elements in the intelligence community and FBI leaking information (assuming news reports are not completely lying about their sourcing),
  • and so on and so on.

There has been a never-ending attempt not just to oppose Trump and Republican legislative and policy initiatives, which is legitimate politics,

but to prevent the transfer of power.

But he misses one important point: the election was not lawful, because it put Nazis in power.

Had a conversation with a friend who has a spouse who is responsible for a government role in which doles out a lot of responsibility and expectations of governing the law. The individual hates Trump and is going against Trump and is not the only one in their office.  This is in a key state where the responsibilities by the department are critical and make differences.

And how are women here supposed to support Iranian protesters, when they're so oppressed here at home?

True dat. The sound of the vacuum cleaner they’re pushing through the house drowns out the sound from MSNBC’s coverage of the events. And then they have laundry to clean and fold and put away and then there’s making dinner and getting lunches packed for the next day and the list of their duties just goes on and on. Plus they have to work 60 hour weeks at jobs that pay half what a man earns and don’t forget getting the kids to and from dancing lessons and soccer practice and games. :(

ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS NO ONE IS ASKING: Pink pussyhats: The reason feminists are ditching them.

The reason: The sentiment that the pink pussyhat excludes and is offensive to transgender women and gender nonbinary people who don’t have typical female genitalia and to women of color because their genitals are more likely to be brown than pink.

“I personally won’t wear one because if it hurts even a few people’s feelings, then I don’t feel like it’s unifying,” said Phoebe Hopps, founder and president of Women’s March Michigan and organizer of anniversary marches Jan. 21 in Lansing and Marquette.

There is no way any satirist can improve upon the sheer absurdity of real life, especially when writing about far left SJWs in a red queen’s race to out-woke themselves.

You know why the world is run by white men?  Because we don't self-examine everything we do for offensiveness.  Our white racism and toxic masculinity is completely unambiguous, and our mere existence hurts other people's feelings, so we don't have to waste time worrying about this horseshit, and have more time for more meaningful pursuits like money and power...

Photos making the rounds show massive turnout are from LAST YEAR’S Women’s March

"Troller in Chief"

Trump displays kindly humor and good will toward a protest intended against him.

Beautiful weather all over our great country, a perfect day for all Women to March. Get out there now to celebrate the historic milestones and unprecedented economic success and wealth creation that has taken place over the last 12 months. Lowest female unemployment in 18 years!

Nice! It's almost like something from a children's story. A hated character doesn't realize that he is hated and greets his haters with warm wishes and imagines their expressions of anger against him to be a celebration in his honor. Of course, Trump is under no delusion, but I love this upbeat sunniness as a way to acknowledge the protest and maybe coax a smile from the women who can't all want to stay angry, one year into the ordeal of a presidency that, after all, hasn't really hurt just about any of them.

Want to see a bunch of strong, powerful women using their voices to make a change in a country that doesn’t actually see them as equals?

Then definitely avoid looking at footage and photos from the silly #WomensMarch2018 and check out this photo from Nikki Haley:
