PromoTheRobot
https://m.reddit.com/r/hockey/comments/44jtm6/brad_marchand_uses_illegal_equipment_to_score/ This news is just coming out this morning. Turns out Brad Marchand of the Bruins was playing with a glove that was missing the palm, a violation of the rules, when he scored on a (lame call) penalty shot in OT last night against the Sabres. The smug jerk opened his palms in victory after scoring and the camera caught the hole in his glove. http://imgur.com/a/AmDVF Unfortunately the Sabres did not notice, or else they might have gotten the goal overturned, and a penalty on Marchand instead. I know this is a hockey story, but it sure relates to another New England sports team that plays fast and loose with the rules.

Chandemonium
Could they overturn the goal? I thought it was just a minor penalty for the first infraction. I've never heard of a goal being overturned because of it.

And when the equipment manager was texting about "removing palms," he was talking about landscaping.

BillsFan130
Not a huge deal in my opinion. Definitely violated the rule but I can almost guarantee players on every team have illegal curves on their sticks or something else to get an advantage
apuszczalowski
I would have thought this would be about the BS call to give him the penalty shot. Now apparently you can't touch a player if they are coming in on a breakaway......

Chandemonium
not that he didn't break the rules but how does a missing palm help with scoring? I don't think that it does. It will increase your feel for the puck on your stick slightly, but I always thought this rule was more for safety and to make it harder to impede opponents by grabbing them. Take my word from someone like myself who trains hockey players for a living, a lot of players cheat to try and get an advantage, marchand was just stupid enough to get caught
Martifal
The Patriots have Tom Brady, arguably the best QB of all times, he has consistently kicked the Bills ass along with the rest of the league for a long time now. I had season tickets in the 90's, and I met more Patriot fans at Bills games that drove up here from Boston just to experience game day in Buffalo, they were Patriots fans, but above all they're sports fans, and could appreciate greatness. I thought it was classy, here in Buffalo fans jump on any little news nugget that supports the theory the Patriots have to cheat to win. The Patriots win because they are better coached and have a great QB, show some class Buffalo, and give this cheatriots crap a rest.
