Brady 4 game suspension upheld; Will go to court

Recommended Posts

How badly has Brady's team mismanaged this?

Well...Wells and the NFL had no right to Brady's phone. The most that they could do was ask, and he was within his rights saying "no." And, in fact, he could have used that in the appeal of his suspension, to argue that he was being punished for non-cooperation when he was well within his rights to not cooperate. He's also within his rights to destroy the phone...because it's his phone, and he has no responsibility to preserve it for any reason.

Except his dumbass representatives, and the NFLPA, announce their intent to seek redress in court if the suspension isn't overturned.

THAT means he had a reasonable expectation of the phone and its contents being evidence in a case. So NOW, he's destroying evidence. Which means he tanked not only his appeal, but his court case too.

Brilliant strategy. How does this dumbass even win football games? (Oh, that's right. He cheats.)

@RapSheet: The @NFLPAs federal court filing on behalf of Tom Brady is slated to come tomorrow. Yes, itll be filed in Minnesota.

Makes sense from the NFLPA's perspective.

This is lawyering 101.

Whether or not the NFL's action will be merged with the NFLPA's (and critically, the venue of said action) remains to be seen.

It is questionable and biased for same reason Br*dy is claiming:

It is by: Michael McCann is a Massachusetts attorney and the founding director of the Sports and Entertainment Law Institute at the University of New Hampshire School of Law.

Unbelievable. One game. One game. He would have come back rested for the Bills and made another championship run. Goddell bent over backwards trying to make it go smooth.

This was just debunked, no agreement was close according to Wingo. But if it were true, wouldn't surprise me in the least.

McCann is the man. Go to for sports/law info. He was great during the Hernandez case.

It's actually pretty well balanced and shows the arguments Brady would use.

It also includes the league's trump card: "we absolutely have the right. You union boys saw to that when you negotiated last time. In fact, you don't even need a "fair" arbiter for your appeal, since it's explicitly mentioned elsewhere and not here. You let Rodger be judge jury and executioner because you wanted a little more money. Buh bye!"

Hey I just was thrilled by one subheading: "The unlikely injunction"

If Brady doesn't get an injunction, I really doubt that court proceedings are finished by Week 2.

Court case goes on through the Winter, Tom wins the Super Bowl again, immediately announces retirement. Court case ends, no suspension incurred.

Whats better? A suspension and a few more years of Brady, or never seeing him again but he leaves with an officially untarnished legacy?? PollTime!
