The GOP Nomination--The Donald and So Much More!

Recommended Posts

IT’S PADDY CHAYEFSKY’S MEDIA WORLD, WE JUST LIVE IN IT:

So for the past month, a cartoon-like Manhattan real estate plutocrat has well-positioned himself to be the potential next President of the United States by sucking all the oxygen out of any room he is in, particularly as his churlish dowager opponent flails about while under FBI investigation.

Yesterday, a Democrat party activist for amnesty for illegal foreign immigrants attempted to hog the microphone at the cartoon zillionaire’s press conference, and today justifies his boorish actions by claiming, as Allahpundit paraphrases, “My ‘right’ to talk over other reporters and ask Trump grandstanding questions was trampled” when Trump’s security man had him temporarily removed from the press conference.

Also today in a far more sinister media development, “A disgruntled former news reporter who shot dead two of his ex-coworkers during a live TV segment this morning is in very critical condition after attempting to kill himself

Unfortunately, they both came out as winners. Without doubt, Trump's followers were reminded yet again why they love him. While Ramos was able to show his audience with comments such as "Go back to Univision" which was interpreted as go back to Mexico and seeing him kicked out (deported) by Trump his antipathy towards Latino's. As someone who lives in Miami, I can tell you that this is being blasted throughout the local channels and every bit of it is casting Trump as the villain.

Trump was at -51% favorability with latino's, expect that to go down even further. And with that sort of dislike with Latino's, if he did happen to get the GOP nomination, you can't win with those numbers in many of the swing states. Ramos and Trump both achieved what they could have wanted out of the mixup.

With those kind of negatives, never mind swing states; I'm not sure he can win Texas.

Hailing from Western Pennsylvania originally, I fall into the Pop side of the great Pop vs Soda debate.

So yes, I support a tax on everyone who refers to carbonated sugary beverages as Soda

Pop is what I call my father. It's odd that you want to drink him, and I'm petty sure he doesn't swing that way; but I'm sure he'd be flattered, especially at his age.

Though I'm not quite sure what this has to do with this thread.............

I guess I'll add this:

Trump Leaning against a Third-Party Run
The latest NR includes this editorial comment: “Trump is a serious threat to some of the other candidates, especially the second-tier ones whom he is squeezing out. Other Republicans, even if they fear he would be a terrible nominee, need not panic. They should, indeed, take comfort in his strength in the polls: His consistent fifth of the vote is enough to make him stay in the Republican primaries, where he is likely to lose fair and square, rather than leave early to enjoy making third-party mischief. The longer he stays in the primaries, the less of a third-party threat he will be.”

I'd say the page count on this forum is a good indicator of support nationwide. At this time it's Hillary leading with 63, Trump second at 55 but closing the gap, Bernie at 33 and Jumpin' Joe Biden at 2. Joe's got a lot of upside though if he gets in. Past gaff's alone will propel him past Sanders.

I got of the pop train and went to soda very quickly after I went to college outside of NYC. I realized very quickly how much of a hick I sounded like.

Makes sense. The 3rd-party threat was overblown anyway. If Jeb's the candidate, many of Trump's supporters will stay home. Either way, GOP loses.

The use of the word pop in place of soda shows just how little of the classics you've read.

It's soda you inbred Canadian hick. :nana:

Great, a CEO who couldn't make money in the Casino business. Just what America needs.

Has the house odds on his side, but still goes bankrupt with other people's money?

You're right, this man shouldn't be president. That there's congressional talent.

No one's perfect. He did well with real estate, hotels, golf courses, television, and beginning in 2017, presidency.

But yes, Trump Entertainment Resorts was apparently awful.

Not really. He benefited from some "right place, right time" stuff but for the most part he's a !@#$ing Kardashian. Do some real research on the guy. He's a clown.
