TJ Graham of the New York Jets

Actually, the biggest mistake is on Jets players blabbing on Twitter before the game that something like this was coming.

:w00t: Did this really happen? Who was it? I don't have twitter please let me see this. I would cut the player immediately if I was Rex lol

Graham would have taken it out a little bit further, too.

He also might have got picked off when he jumps for the ball and the Bills a TD. Could you imagine? It'd have been perfect for the day. Harvin throws to TJ, a Bills player INT's it in the end zone, TD!

If you watch the clip posted Graham stayed in the endzone like he was supposed to. I would have loved to see the Jets shiny new toy THROW a pick. Or run it out as he had and then throw it to Graham who knelt down thinking it was a touch back and getting a safety. Those were the only other 2 results I could think of that would have been better. With how well the D played yesterday I fully expected a sack/safety or turnover for td after they started on the 1.

I don't know about Twitter, but here's Saalim Hakim suggesting there may be trickery on special teams with Harvin. While Hakim talks about a possible reverse, you know it had the Bills alert on all kicks and punts.

FLORHAM PARK – Saalim Hakim has an idea for how the Jets might use Percy Harvin’s speed – and Hakim’s speed, for that matter – during Sunday’s game against the Bills, in which Harvin will make his Jets debut.

And it sounds intriguing, this kickoff return trick play.

Hakim, in his third NFL season, began this year as the Jets’ kickoff returner. Then Walter Powell replaced Hakim in that role. Now, Harvin is taking over those duties – and maybe the punt return job, too.

Even though Hakim is no longer a return man, he has prodigious speed, which he uses as the gunner on punt coverage and the guy who blocks the gunner on punt return. Hakim also has outside coverage and blocking jobs on kickoff coverage and kickoff return.

It is that latter role, as a blocker for Harvin on kickoff return, that Hakim said he might take part in a trick play. But he didn’t say how likely it is that this will happen.

“I’m on the front line, so I’m going to be out there blocking for him, blocking my butt off, to get him open and be able to take one to the house,” Hakim said. “You never know. We could always run a little reverse off that. We’re just preparing for different things, different plays. It’s all good. Hey, we’ve got a lot of stuff planned that y’all ain’t seen yet. Y’all going to see it, though, on game day.”

That play actually was run a year or two ago, don't remember the teams though. But it was dumb! The Jets would have been better off having TJ stand up, the Bills players would have said "meh, it's only TJ nothing to see here, and would all run towards PH instead. But in all seriousness, not sure who it was, but one of the Bills saw that the whole way and was the reason PH didn't throw the ball. Anyone know who that was?

Ah yes, that was it.

Saints v Eagles - Reilly cooper played the tj role, I believe. Was also snf so many of you probably saw it if I remember correctly

So glad we fired Crossman last year and didn't give him any time with any dedicated special teams players.

Don't be silly. ST is great IN SPITE of Grossman. Don't ask me to explain how I know that. I just do.

You know, come to think of it, it's not hard to imagine that the Jets thought they could get away with using TJ Graham as the Invisible Man.

It's even more surprising they would design a play for him in which catching the ball is a prerequisite.

I'm willing to bet many (most) of the fans currently calling for Hackett's head were the same ones calling for Crossman's.

to be fair, crossmans resume is still PUTRID for a decade and we are committing a lot of resources in supporting him. id hope a kick coverage unit with a KO specialist, and several highly thought of coverage guys would look good.

Perhaps at his previous stops he didn't receive the support warranted? By the way, the Bills signed their punter the week before the season started, most of Gay's kickoffs are being returned, and Dixon and Graham have significant roles outside of ST as well.

ive watched many of his games in both carolina and detroit, before his joining us (where i think he led a unit that underachieved too).

the group looks good, no doubt. they should. maybe the light came on for him, but he still wouldnt be the guy i bet on if we start facing adversity.

When you're 70 yards away, it's very difficult to see someone lying down. The hope is that nobody notices and everyone runs to the ball. Then have an open field when the ball is thrown the opposite direction. at least that's the theory. The Bills defended it perfectly and there was a Bills right next to TJ. PH looked and couldn't throw the ball due to the Bills player being right there.

Thank you!

While were on the topic of TJ I'd like to point out that a very large percentage of passes targeting him result in INTs. The McKelvin INT that was disallowed was targeting TJ. Most of EJs INTs were targeting TJ. Every INT of Tuel's career was targeting TJ. This is why I hope Tuel gets another chance. (EJ already got his chance to play without TJ.)

Tj the only receiver Tooltime had at his disposal? You want to see if somehow a tj curse exists???

Tooltime followers. I cant understand them. Omg. Really....

Even ej who is pretty bad is waaaaaaayyyyyyy greater than Tooltime. I thought we covered this already.
