Just so you can cry about something else. Seems to have worked

No you had a point when you mentioned that more people think Obama is worse. You said Bush is better which is not how the poll it titled and I understand it's probably very hard (wah) to use the words Obama and worse together. So I for one would like to know what your point was and what was the relevance to my post you quoted.

The second part of his quote is the more telling and disturbing part:

“It secures the privileges we enjoy as citizens, but also demands participation, responsibility, and service to our country and to one another.”

The constitution sets out the basic framework that defines how the government is to be structured and administered, its powers, and restrictions upon those powers. Nowhere does it demand the "participation, responsibility, and service" to the country. It does quite the opposite. It demands that you be given the freedom from having those things imposed upon you by the state.

This is the talk of nationalism. Nationalism is the authoritarian cousin of patriotism. It was the underlying theme to the fascism of 1930s Europe, which was the militaristic cousin of Russian socialism.

This ultimately calls for individuals to be subject to active obligations to the state for which non-compliance is punishable. We've long since wandered into this territory. The income tax laws impose a duty on citizens to monitor, record, and report any property they acquire. Obamacare puts an affirmative duty on citizens to maintain health insurance. Now he wants to continue down that path of charging citizens with affirmative duties.

His view of the world is one where the state oversees the people. The people are to serve the state and in return the state will take care of them. In his view, the society at large takes priority over the individual, who by comparison is of little importance. Thus, individual rights take a back seat to the greater good.

In short, it's an ends justify the means philosophy. The problem for him is that the constitution, and our society generally, are based on the philosophy that the use of proper means is is the greater end.

That hits the nail on the head. I'd add one ingredient which is his political behavior to keep the uninformed just that and his political maneuvers designed to create an electoral majority for his way of thinking. Grabbing power now isn't enough, it has to be kept.

This one made me chuckle. Staged as though Obama is her boyfriend, the ad shows a woman betrayed by President Obama’s promises.

She says:

“In 2008 I fell in love. His online profile made him seem perfect. Smart, handsome, charming, articulate, all the right values. I trusted him. But by 2012, our relationship was in trouble, but I stuck with him because he promised he’d be better. He’s great at promises. He told me we’d be safe. Have you looked at the news? He’s in my emails, text messages — spying on me but ignoring real threats.
He said that we’d finally get on our feet financially. I’ll never pay down what he spent.

And the money line:

He thinks the only thing I care about is free birth control, but he wont even let me keep my own doctor.
I know I’m stuck with Barack for two more years, I get that, but I’m not stuck with his friends.
I’m looking for someone who gets that it’s not about him, it’s about us.”

What a piece of schitt. I see this picking up steam on the intertubes, and it is precisely like this POTUS to do something like begin airstrikes against a foreign enemy, and then upstage the news cycle because he's simply too stupid and self-centered to do the one thing many presidents actually practice to ensure they are doing it properly and respectfully.

Barry Obama. In full gatorman mode. I'm starting to think I prefer Biden again.

"I don't like the military because they don't respect me." <_<

Mock nailed it above -- he's simply too arrogant and self-centered to care -- but what amazes me is that his people are so ignorant that in their rush to show a picture (any picture) of Obama and someone in uniform they didn't realize what a disrespectful gesture he had made. I guess that's what happens when the White House is full of pampered, Ivy League a-holes.
