I'm in EWR now waiting in the United club with wifey for the flight to LA. Second (15.5 hr) leg gets us to Aussieland on Thursday AM.

Go ahead and feel free to hurl rocks, bottles, epitaphs, and advice my way.

We're planning on going to the Blue Mountains one say and an off shore fishing trip another. Had too much work crap - and getting the boat ready to launch in Keyport to do much of planning for this vacation. Left that up to wifey. :w00t:

This should be innarestin'.

Don't worry. It will only feel like 14 hours.

watch out for the most poisonous snakes in the world

drive on the left not right

Kangaroos are worse than deer during rutting season

gawking at the colorful birds paints you as a tourist

Magpies love to dive bomb pedestrians

the water swirls backwards in the sink

Good on ya is a compliment (IIRC)

and lastly BRING A GOOD LONG BOOK on the plane

14 hours with nothing to read and boring movies you just saw sucks

Corporal punishment is a common practice. The flag says it all.

My friend got caught with drugs. Luckily he was able to plead down from a booting on his bare bottom to a swift kick with a wing tip. Pants on, I might add.

I got nuthin' :D

I will tell you the trip sucks. It was very bizarre though. We left Sydney at 9:00am on a Saturday and landed at LAX at 9:00am on Saturday.

you forgot the way there where you lose a day .

Fly for 13 hours + leaving the left coast on Friday late afternoon / early evening and arriving in Sydney on Sunday morning @ 10AM.

San Fran to Hawaii to Auckland NZ to Sydney.

Fixed.

I did a lot of traveling across the Pacific in the 70's & 80's. Swore off it, waiting for supersonic airplanes. 12-14 hours is about 6-7 more that I can handle. I thought that was a reasonable assumption in the 70's. Now 40+ years later they want you to fly on a freakin 737. 737's were new in 1967. What happened to new ideas and innovation?

I won't fly on the plastic 787, for a whole list of reasons.
