You must be a birther. Good luck with that.

what does that have to do with trump owning the bills? i think he would be a great owner.. after reading the news article today, sounds like he is serious, and says he is committed to keeping the team in buffalo. i have no problem with any of that.

Hell, I dont care if Vladimir Putin buys the team. If their intent is to keep it in Buffalo then I am all for whomever opens their wallet.

I really dont see a problem with Trump either; unless he tries to run the football operations, like Jerry Jones in Dallas. That might not be a good thing.

i agree with your last point. while i have no problem with trump owning the team, him trying to be jerry jones is a real concern.

The news report where Michael Cohen mentions he is being paid to be Trumps front guy kinda implies that it was more than an off the cuff comment by Trump just for attention.

Then again he could be doing nothing on Trumps behalf beside answering reporters questions or putting out some press releases for Mr. Trump.

We will find out at some point in the future. Could be good, could be bad. Worst possible acceptable outcome is that the team stays. Best is he becomes a good if not great owner and surprises a few people on the board and other places. I'm not against him and understand the concern, but have never met him. Has anyone on the board even met him, does anyone have any type of o going relationship with him? TV is TV and is built for theatrics, some people treat PR the same way - no news is bad news.

Everybody in the financial world knows that DONALD TRUMP CANT AFFORD THE BUFFALO BILLS!!

My understanding/estimate is that Trumps worth is in the (low) 9 figures. An NFL franchise is worth almost a billion & in order to "afford" something like that, it should only be a fraction of your net worth. So, it's likely correct that what Cuban said was true.

Not sure how much they would be sold for, though from what I understand of Trump, most of his "worth" is an assets, rather than cash. I am not taking him seriously as a potential Bills owner... can't stand the guy. As has been mentioned in other threads, if he did have any hope of being an NFL owner, he would have to cut his ties to his casinos. Can anyone see that happening? I can't.

I used to hate Cuban, for all the reasons that most people hate him...big mouth, always wanting the spotlight...but I have come to respect him much more in recent years. I can't see the NFL allowing him into the billionaire boys club either, for some of the same reasons as Trump.

I am still pinning my hopes on Pegula. I may be wrong about this (and I am sure somebody will jump on me to correct me!), but if I recall, last time I checked, if Pegula purchased the Bills, he would be the 5th or 6th wealthiest owner in the league... surprisingly (at least to me), Ralph Wilson was on the upper end of the wealth charts too.

I'm assuming this has been mentioned already, but Trump needs to sell his casinos first.

I would take Mark Cuban over Trump as an owner. Though, Trump is right- Cuban does not have the means alone. What people don't realize is most people do not have the cash to purchase a team on their own. Jerry Jones is the majority owner of the Cowboys, but only owns a fraction of the team, for example. One guy that has the cash and it is all liquid is Pegula. Pegula could buy and sell Jerry Jones over several times. Pegula could lay down a cool billion for the Bills not lose sleep that night.

Trump's net worth is generally reported over 3 billion.

He doesn't own casinos. He sold Trump Entertainment Resorts some time ago (even they only own the Taj Mahal at this point), he doesn't sit on the board and he is only a 10% shareholder.

Pegula's net worth isn't all in cash, so I doubt he could (and he certainly wouldn't anyway) "lay down a cool billion" for the Bills.

Nothing really new in the article.

Does Trump pay newspapers to write about him? He must. Also I believe him as much as I believe that's his real hair. Committed to keeping the Bills in WNY? Why? Because he's a swell guy? I'm convinced if Trump ever came to own the Bills, which I think it's a long shot the NFL approves him, the Bills would be as good as gone.

Why? Because The Donald is out only for The Donald. Come 2020 he'd either move the team himself or flip them to another billionaire at a huge profit. The fox wants to own the hen house because he's committed to the safety and well being of the chickens?

Trump to buy the Bills. Trump to run for Governor. Trump to run for President.

It's all for publicity. He wants everyone to be talking about Trump. He has no intentions of buying this team. He just wants to look like a good guy. "If I did buy the team I would keep them in Buffalo!" I can't believe anyone takes this guy seriously anymore
