Whichever one it was, I bet Solomon didn't file chapter 11 four times.

Yes. I (like others here) was under the impression that Trump owned casinos still, but as has been reported multiple times now, he has only sold his name to casinos (some he used to own) for the cash. The more I am reading about him, his name has become his biggest asset at this point. For some reason, his brand of buffoonery seems to resonate with some... so I will give him credit for being smart enough to know that he needs to keep his name relevant.

It just strikes me as odd, the guy can't answer a question (either with his own mouth, or through his publcist) in which he doesn't insult somebody else... perhaps he knows he has little substance to stand on, otherwise? The billionaire bully...I won't claim I would never root for the Bills if he owned them, but he would certainly be my last option. I don't for one second believe he would keep the Bills in Buffalo any longer than he legally had to. And, who is to say, if he purchased them tomorrow, he wouldn't sell them 5 years from now, to the highest bidder, when he has squanederd yet more of his daddy's fortune.

is jerry jones a cartoon?

Comparing Trump to Jerry Jones is like comparing apples and oranges. And really, there is just no way that other NFL owners would ever approve of the Donald joining their exclusive club of money-printers.

Trump is a total jock-sniffer who thinks he is an elite athlete because he can grind out a decent round of golf. He probably jingles coins & coughs as you start your backswing like Ted Knight in Caddyshack.

Jerry Jones was a co-captain of the University of Arkansas 1964 National Championship football team. In fact, Skeletor was even All-Conference, somehow as an OL.

I am quite glad that there are other well-heeled & truly Buffalo people ready to throw their hat into the ring to make a bid to keep the Bills here.

your opinion is well thought out, but i question your use of the term "buffoonery".. i would submit there are a few "buffoons" presently owning NFL teams.. i guess it depends on what one considers "buffoonery"?

Okay so there are a few "buffoons" that own teams in the NFL, that means you are okay with the Bills being one of those teams?

I guess buffoonery is an open ended word, with lots of room for interpritation.

To me, as it applies to Trump, it refers to his boorish behavior, unfounded, uninformed opnions on pretty much everything... he is a bit of a rube, for somebody as wealthy has he is.

Like I said ealrier, I can't recall him ever really discussing anything, with anyone who wasn't kissing his ass, where his first tact isn't to insult or denegrade somebody else. I realize, some see that "tough guy" act as somethiing to admire, but I just think he comes off like a petulant a-hole, in pretty much every public appearence or statement I have heard from him. My personal opinion is that he has all the qualities I would least like to see in somebody owning the Bills. He is too much talk and bluster... and his greatest claim to fame, other than "maybe" running for president or NYS Governor, is for making "yer fired" a pop culture reference.

My feelings of distaste for him, I will admit, may have some poltical foundations, but they were in place, long before the current president was in office. Trump promising to keep the Bills in Buffalo means little to me. As I stated above, sure, he might purchase them, but nothing to gurarntee he won't turn around and sell them the first chance he gets to make a profit.

And, to anybody who thinks Jerry Jones is a disgrace as an owner (or whatever negative connotations you might want to apply to him), I honestly think Trump isn't nearly as intelligent, and only matches Jones in arrogance.

At the very least, Jones has been around football (both as a GM/Owner and NFL statesman) for over three decades. Comparing Trump with Jones is like comparing a gorilla to a beetle. They have very little in common.

Jerruh also walked the football walk as co-captain of the 1964 National Champion Arkansas Razorbacks.

I think Donald made final cut in Glee Club.

I don't think being a player is a requirement for being a good owner. If fact, given the brain damage suffered by players, the exact opposite may in fact be true.

Which leads me to believe that the Donald may have played the game at some point ;)

Love him or hate him, it's hard to argue Jones' record as an owner. Yes, it's been a while since he's made much noise in terms of wins and losses, but you can't take away his three Lombardi trophies, either. He's probably a better owner than he is a GM, though.

Completely agree. And probably a better statesman for the NFL brand than he is at anything else. He's a big reason why the NFL has boomed from what I understand and has become one of the faces of the league along with Kraft (ugh).
