  1. Allen and Beasley are probably the Bills most well known players.
  2. I pop in from time to time for a little perspective and to see what topics are on other fans' minds but I generally don't have the time to reply, chat, or engage. Good to see that guys like you and the Panda are still here - hope you are well!
  3. Hit me up when it turns 21 so I can buy it a drink. (Happy birthday, TSW!)
  4. I liked your write up. Maybe consider submitting your articles through the link at the bottom of the TBD main page. In the meantime, are you on Twitter? That might be qa good way to get your work read if you are unable to do it via TBD.
  5. I had my knee scoped a couple days prior and was laid up on the couch totally wasted on pain killers. Thank God.
  6. As OP asked for favorites, I knew I'd have a tough time getting down to one but I didn't expect to get stuck at seven. Jim Braxton Lou Piccone Bobby Chandler Shane Conlan Leonard Smith Mario Clark Reuben "Stone Hands" Gant Guessing we're close to the same age because a lot of those names popped in to my head too. As an aside, I thought Lucius Sanford had the coolest name in the league!
  7. I'd rather not be disrespectful of the anthem by using it as a taunt.
  8. Character issues? That's a stetch. Even the complainant testified it wasn't Hunter who broke his jaw. Most locals believe it was just another case of VBPD's 2nd precinct targeting the biggest fish at the ocean front (as they are prone to do). Hunter does not have the reputation of being a trouble maker or having character issues here in his hometown.
  9. Methinks you might be confusing hurt with injure. I learned the difference from a hockey coach when I was a kid. Paraphrased, every time you make contact, you do it with intent to hurt. You want him to feel it and to be sore from it. You hit him hard and he's going to be thinking about you next time you're on the ice with him. But never hit with intent to injure - that's a different thing all together. And if you don't believe that 100% of NFL players target an opponent's hurt or sore arm, shoulder, wrist, etc, you may be incredibly naive.
  10. Things were much more grim in the mid-80s than they are now - fans and media gave up on the team before preseason games started. There was no realistic expectation they would finish above .500 and in '85 nobody was shocked when they posted a second consecutive 2-14 record. Rich held 82,000 people and while I don't recall exact numbers, it seemed half full at best. - and half of the people that were there rooted for the visiting team. So yeah, it's been worse IMO.
  11. Regardless of who the commissioner is, he will be criticized by hyperbolic fans. I'm not sure it really matters whose name it is on the office door.
  12. Agreed. And it looks pretty strange to see it in print. IIRC, I think he was kind of laughing/chuckling when he said it.
  13. I heard him say it this morning also and just thought he was just referring to violent collisions and that sometimes some guys get hurt. I didn't read too much into it.
  14. Haven't read all 11 pages so forgive me if someone's already bought here's the biggest difference between last year and this year IMO: Last year the D ran a 4-3 base, for which the personnel is perfectly suited, and this year they are in a 3-4 base.
  15. If only you read the article you'd realize the guy's a quack for claiming his "natural supplements" prevented concussions.
  16. Surprised downstate NY is getting MIA-JAX given that two AFCE teams are playing in as big a game as it gets in week 2.
  17. I was surprised to hear Crabtree was interested in coming to Bflo, too. Maybe it's the difference having a known player's coach makes?
  18. Not necessarily. Harvin has a long (and I mean long) history of being a trouble maker. In high school, he was suspended a game as a junior for a post-whistle unsportsmanlike penalty. As a senior, he was suspended the last 2 regular season games of his high school career for shoving a ref and using foul language. A couple months later playing basketball, he started a fight with an opponent that resulted in the game being called and a ban from competing against out-of-district schools. That meant he wasn't allowed to participate in state track events in the spring, too. He had won 5 individual state track titles up until then but he cost himself the opportunity to win an unprecedented 6th title and perhaps even worse, his teammate's an opportunity to win a team state championship. One of his former teachers, now retired, told me he was the most ignorant, arrogant,self-absorbed, and self-entitled students she ever met. In fact, the only time I've heard her cuss was when she called him "just a real ass." That's the kind of kid he was. Extrapolating that to adulthood - and with stories we've already heard about him - Rodak is right. He might not be worth the trouble. Hopefully Rex can keep him in line all season. But the odds appear to be against him.
  19. I read that the Ravens are supposedly interested in him.
