  1. i also still like the idea of adding an 8th playoff team in the AFC and eliminating the bye for the 1 seed but it doesnt sound liek thats being considered. NHL added playoff teams when their season was cut short by COVID a couple years ago.
  2. now that is interesting. Im assuming that would mean if KC chooses #1, then week 2 of playoffs would be 1v4 and 2v3 (assuming all favorites win WC weekend) still? But if 2nd seed wins then they would host AFC Championship game? And if no I think youd have to lean bye in that scenario and hope the 2 seed loses one of the 1st two games
  3. My response to this argument would be... guess what the NFL uses as the very last tiebreaker to determine who goes to the playoffs in the event of a tie between two or three teams -- A coin flip! Sure, its not football, but it is fair. And yes doesnt have to be a coin flip but some kind of lottery with odds around 50%. I even suggested going by the odds at the time the game ended, i.e. 55 balls for Bengals, 44 balls for Bills, and 1 ball for a tie. This is so much better than just having the nfl to hurt the two teams involved. no one could argue they were screwed.
  4. This should just be a coin flip to determine the bills bengals W L just for seeding purposes. Giving a no contest is essentially the same as giving both team Ls, and only benefits the chiefs. It doesn’t make sense. No need to overcomplicate things. Bills win, and it sucks for chiefs but they can’t complain because they very well may have won the game anyway. And vice versa. Someone was winning the game and someone was losing, and by all measures it was essentially a tossup who would win anyway, so flip a coin before this weekends games and move on. ive yet to really hear a valid reason why this would be considered unfair to anyone prior to the coinflip
  5. they also could have lost or won the game had it continued so its hard to say it hurts cincy before it is flipped -- maybe they would have lost the game but win the flip, no one knows. if they lose it, then sure it hurts cinci, but they had the same odds to win it as buffalo. the game itself was practically a tossup before it started and probably when it ended, so this is the fairest way in my opinion if they dont replay it. there was no knowing who would win the game, and there is no knowing who will win the coin toss. if cinci wins the toss, then ravens fans will be mad but there was no guarantee that cinci was going to lose the game, and same with chiefs fans if buffalo wins it... but one team was getting a W and L barring a tie to start with
  6. yep on the coin flip -- im not sure that there can be another option that results in less complaints from any fan base short of them actually finishing this game, which i doubt. definitely better than intentionally giving one team a Win or Loss or both Ties (which hurts both teams) otherwise get rid of the bye for the 1 seed in the AFC, and add an 8th playoff team, effectively getting rid of that huge advantage the 1 seed has since its tough to say which of the top 3 should get it right now. plus the nfl gets an extra game to make up for this one that gets cancelled
  7. to expand on the coin flip option even further, you could even get some statistical odds in there, say bengals were 60% chance to win the game at the point it ended (and bills 39%, with 1% chance of tie), lets give them 60 out of 100 balls in the hat, then give bills 39 and tie 1. pull a ball and move on. no one in nfl, bills/bengals or any other team knows how the game would have ended so why make a decision that intentionally helps/hurts any team
  8. i dont think the game will be, or should be rescheduled. i think the best options are: 1. Coin flip the result of the game, but dont count it as an official W-L for records purposes, just for playoff seeding. I believe the coin flip is already a last resort options in the event of 2 teams tying in every tiebreaker, so its not unprecedented 2. 'No contest' the game and get rid of the bye for the 1 seed, and add an 8th team in the AFC playoffs. definitely limits the advantages between the 1-3 seeds. i think only downside to that is if bengals dont beat ravens next week then they may lose the division which would admittedly be a bit unfair
  9. there’s no good answer but coin flip (add in a 1/100 odds for a tie) may be what’s most fair. would be surprised if this game gets played
  10. It disgusts me that the league doesn't kick these idiots out of the league. They should also be required to give all of the money they made to charity for being so stupid and careless. Easily could have killed himself or others that night. Turning your lights off at night while and speeding over 130 mph? Insanity. Put the man in jail. Playing in the NFL is a privilege and these guys take it for granted. It just blows my mind. He will get his suspension and then return to making tens of millions of dollars. Makes me sick
  11. Love Sammy but seems like there are about 5 rookie wrs that are having great seasons. Beckham looks like the real deal. In a draft so deep with wrs I'm beginning to question the decision to give up this years first to move up -- and that's nothing against sammy
  12. If I was the defense I'd refuse to take the field or demand a new qb and OC. What a joke
