The Bills are like the guy that would pay $200 for a worn Taylor Made driver during the first day of a garage sale and then return to the same sale a few days later wondering what he could buy for a buck.

Well....Dolphins signed WR Wallace, LB Ellerbe and S Clemons. Kinda 3 positions the Bills have needs at. Not saying they should have or could have signed those 3 guys but it's obvious Miami is far ahead of us in their rebuilding. Patriots are the Patriots. 2013 will be a battle for the 1st overall pick with the Jets. Sad the next season is already a wash out 2 hours into free agency.

The very idea that the first two hours of free agency was going to determine how the next season went for the Bills is....stupid. I tried to think of a softer word for it, but stupid was the nicest thing to say.

Did Nix, Whaley & Brandon go to sleep after firing Fitzpatrick? The Bills need help at QB, LB & WR? So do they really think they'll be able to plug these holes in the draft?

Is it stupid? Think of something better. We have half a team. We have 6 draft picks. We have no QB. We have a hole at guard. We have no WR's behind Stevie & TJ Graham. We have no TE other than an injured Campbell. We are short at LB. We are short in the secondary. The guys we do have left aren't all that great to begin with. There is zero depth. The top players are flying off the board. The second tier players are next. So let's say they sign a couple left over scraps and draft 6 players. Rest will be UDFA. How do you expect them to win 3 or 4 games let alone be a .500 team or even touch a playoff spot? I don't see any way possible. So yes, the 2013 season is going to be a washout.

6 draft picks. That's sad when your rebuilding and have so many holes.

per Adam Shefter- Dolphins releasing LB Karlos Dansby

Maybe its not such a bad idea to stay asleep during FA. Same losers available two years ago become available again.

I've always liked Dansby, but didn't watch much of him last year. Has he lost a lot of step?

Excellent point.

We need to spend smart. It's much harder to do than just have a lot of money and spend like hell.

Sadly, you're exactly right. Maybe, just maybe, they get the number one pick overall and get a franchise quarterback next year. It's the only thing we can hang our hats on

The Bills are trying desperately to land a QB in FA sometime either tonight or tomorrow. My guess is that they loosened up the bank by deverting 7 million of Fitzpatrick's cap hit until 2014, and are eagerly trying to work a trade with New England for Ryan Mallet. The snag is that the Bills are offering their 3rd round pick, but New England wants the Bills 2nd rounder and to swap 1st round picks with us. Cleveland is also in the hunt for Mallet, so don't be surprised to see R. Mallet move sometime soon!!! The price will probably be a 2nd rounder ultimately as Mallet's trade value is up due to the mediocre QB talent in this draft pool.
