  1. Well if you go by these population numbers since 1960’s Buffalo’s population has declined by a combined 75%. Obviously these numbers are inaccurate as housing is booming and buyer’s are competing for available properties, the medical corridor is expanding exponentially, Canalside/Harborside is booming and we will be getting a new kid’s museum and other new construction and renovations are going on continuously. The Buffalo Region is definitely on the rise and the evidence is all around us!
  2. Still working on a better name, but my Doc diagnosed him with “Jet-Lag Fumbalitis”
  3. Lol 😂 I was thinking the same thing! Drill Sarge had to treat Gomer much nicer than he preferred with a General being his Daddy! (Even if he really wasn't)
  4. I would have selected him in the fourth round, despite having a second round grade on Peterman, because I felt he would still be available at that point of the draft according to where the so-called draft experts i.e. Mel Kiper and many mock draft sites had projected him to go. I was afforded that luxury as my job wasn't hanging in the balance like Doug Whaley's. I'm not going to over-draft him in the 2nd or 3rd round if I think he will be on the board in the 4th as that would be ludicrous.Yes, he was at the top of my QB class on my positional board, so he was an absolute steal in the 4th, and even more so in the 5th round! Russel Wilson, Tom Brady, Dak Prescott were all obvious steals in their draft classes as well!!! Drafting is like poker... I would never expose the fact that Peterman was slotted as my top QB prospect on my draft board! I'm not going to spend 2,600 points in draft value compensation if I feel I can get extreme value out of a player by only giving up 300-600 points for him and instead use a high pick on another asset! Yes, it's a bluffing game and if I suspected another team was hot on his trail and willing to use a 3rd round pick on Peterman, I would have had to use a 2nd or 3rd round pick on him, as he was the QB that I wanted. I know it's bold to say, but I believe as a whole the 2017 draft class was over-drafted and over-valued! I didn't rate any QB's as first round talent. I think every QB had shortcomings, including Peterman's lack of ideal arm strength. Through strength and conditioning, I believe Peterman will become a Tier 1 QB, but he hasn't arrived just yet, but is making progress as witnessed in the preseason. I would have liked to have seen him air it out a bit by throwing a few deep balls, but his accuracy is pretty good as Clay and T. Jones and others have dropped some very catchable balls. His quick release is exceptional and Brady-like. That being said, I think he can nickle&dime his way downfield and sustain long drives until he is ready to add the deep routes to his menu. It's a little premature to forecast the 2018 QB class, but I like Darnold more than Allen and there are 2 or 3 other QB's who are potentially in contention to be in this conversation.. I really prefer to draft a Senior when possible and that has to be weighed with talent, any medical, behavioral red flags, leadership and character traits etc.. a lot to consider, but sometime in April I will know my order. If it were today, I would go with Darnold... 🏈
  5. So my take on Peterman is that he has the potential to be a special starting QB in the NFL. I study football and have a NFL Draft War Room in my home! I doubled-up my accelerated Master's degree program at St. Bonaventure in Strategic Leadership so I could Graduate last December in advance of the rest of my class. It was critical that I did so, so I could watch all the bowl games, East/West especially, National Championshiip Game, watch video on college prospects, watch the NFL Combine in Indy, read about pro days etc... I have my own system of measures and analytics to determine the order of my draft board. My success rate in drafting NFL players has been much better than the Bills track record over the past 15 years! Although that isn't much to brag about, as I could've achieved that by purchasing 3 NFL Draft Magazines at the grocery store! The last QB that I felt so sure about and had as a Bills selection on my draft card was: Russel Wilson! We would have also drafted other great player's like Hali Ngnata, Rob Gronkowski, G.Bay's Clay etc.. My drafts would've netted us 13 current All-Pro's on our roster! (Much like our '90-93 roster) Not all of my picks have been hits, but few are misses! Drafting is an imperfect art, but you can increase your odds by staying clear of certain red flags: Behavioral, Medical... And putting emphasis on fully committed players who are Seniors! Certain physical characteristics are important factors, but not every outlier should be discarded...That's where I saw the value of Russel Wilson and weighed the intangibles of character, leadership, and work ethic! Barring injury, I just knew he was going to be elite... he may lack ideal height, but he more than compensates through improvising and finding a pathway to success! Everything I read and seen of him told me that he had something special within!!! There were clues that Ryan Leaf might fail... just some breadcrumb trails, but they were present to the watchful eye! My point is that I had Nathan Peterman on my draft board in the 4th round. After everything was analyzed thoroughly, I was certain that Peterman had the character, drive and ability to potentially be a tier 1 QB! His height is adequate (not ideal) and he can needle the ball in tight windows and make most NFL throws. I believe he could add some arm strength to improve his velocity and ability to throw the long-ball which may be his two weaknesses. Peterman should and will work on his strength and conditioning and should improve his arm/shoulder strength.... He has good feet, can scramble when necessary and is a student of the game and makes intelligent choices both on and off the field! He played a pro-style offense as QB at Pitt and was a great leader who led his team past Clemson! (Their only loss) Everything I see tells me that Nathan Peterman is destined to be a Top Tier Starting QB in the NFL and win championships! I think he will get the breaks that give him the opportunities to showcase his talent at the position. I think he has many intangibles that outweigh any limitations that are revealed. He is the most NFL ready QB in the 2017 draft and I nearly lost my composure when the Bills selected Nathan Peterman! In 2016 the opposite reaction was reserved for the Reggie Ragland pick! I was upset as the pick did not make sense to me as I had red flags on my draft board and could not fathom given up additional ammo (draft picks) to select him! Unfortunate, one year later I was proven right! I may have gotten off topic slightly, but I rarely comment as I learn much more from reading, watching and analyzing than talking (typing)! Thanks 🙏 for bearing with me and I don't expect many of you to agree with most of what I've said, but I have been proven right often enough where I have confidence in my opinions on drafting and on Nathan Peterman. I could envision myself in the front office of the Buffalo Bills. Not because of earnings...as that's not a true motivator... it's the passion that matters!!! Go Bills!!! 🏈
  6. For me it had to be a small bodied Lou Piccone who would go face first into the ground to catch a poorly passed football 🏈 and actually catch it! I was young, but was amazed how hard he would try to catch a low pass almost at ground level... I doubt he is well documented and probably never a starter? But he reminded me of that Rudy type of guy that was all effort! Wish some of our current players would give the same effort!!!
  7. If we traded our HC for Patriots HC! Or our OC for their OC, or DC for D.C...QB, WR's, etc.. 😩
  8. I like P A T S cheat cheat cheat as well, kinda like the Jets chant! I like that constant annoying C-H-E-A-T-E-R as well and hope to hear both!! Don't know why the other guy sounds angry and talking about "City B$/@!" ? Why doesn't he just post his own if he doesn't like my idea? I want us to beat them down too, but it's hard to make it a chant !
  9. A very appropriate, funny, Chant would be for the Bills fans to annoy Tom Brady with C-H-E-A-T-E-R......C-H-E-A-T-E-R !!!!! It would really get to him after a while!
  10. I wish it was't so, but when reality sets in and we realize that we couldn't stop the run, and our CB's got burned on a regular basis in the New England game it will be very humbling. We have a very young, inexperienced team and coaching staff. It will take time for them to gel in game scenarios. Besides N.E. seems to have Petine's number...at least when he was a Jets coach! The loss of Stephen Gilmore really hurts and will cost the Bills at least 7 points if not more! My prediction is N.E. 31 Buffalo 17 and that may be generous, as I could see it go to 42-13 if it gets ugly. Some of it depends on Armedola and the N.E. receiving group....as Wes Welker may be difficult to replace. With Ron Gronkowski out 31-17 seems logical. That said, I hope I am way off the mark!!! I hope the Bills find it within themselves to beat the Patriots, and if it somehow goes there way maybe Buffalo 31-27 would be the ticket. But, I'm not trying to play both sides of the coin, and I'm sticking with N.E. 31-17 and will remain pessimistic until the Bills prove otherwise against a winning team, as their history dictates that they can't beat a winning team period! Let us Pray! Go Bills!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Sounds like opening up money for Jairus Byrd to me....maybe releasing that QB that I can't remember, which it doesn't matter what his name is, because he never threw a pass in the regular season for us anyways...but anyhow...maybe the savings between him and Fitz will be enough to resign Byrd?
  12. Heard the Jets are pursuing Adam "Pacman" Jones, and Chad "OochooCinco" Johnson! almost forgot...T.Owens too!
  13. Good, now who did you say is competing against Tuel? E.J. OR Kolb?
  14. I got a good laugh out of that one!!! Thanks..
  15. He never was anything in the NFL to begin with, so why do we care about his comeback? Don't we have a project QB in Tavaris Jackson who amounted to a 0, and isn't E.J. nothing but a project with a lot of upside and potential? Isn't Kolb a sack magnet? And then there is the often injured Jeff Tuell who is developmental at best. Get me someone who can make a difference for a year or two while E.J. Manuel learns the offense and develops his NFL skills. I would've taken Alex Smith in the interim or pried M. Vick loose or something along those lines for a year or two rather than waffling around with T. Jackson or K. Kolb. I wasn't that thrilled with R. Fitzpatrick, but at least he was NFL tested and ready and could get you to 8-8 maybe with better WR's like I believe we found with Woods and either Rodgers or Goodwin as one is bust bound in step with our history...Boooo! for even conjuring up this idea of trying to work J. Russell who was and is a never was and who never will be!!! C'mon Man!
  16. I think it's premature with FA players still available, and being pre-training camp yet, but with little going on no harm in trying to predict the upcoming season. I think 5 wins is reasonable expectations giving all the change, new faces, and a lot of young players. I like what I hear, but haven't seen a darn thing yet! Go Bills....
  17. This is a good place for a Stickup! "Thank God for the commercials" What happened? "There's always next year" Should've drafted Nassib! Should've drafted Barkley! EJ Who? "Wow what a punter" " 4 Quarters not good for a Bill" "At least Almond Joy has nuts" Another one Bites the Dust! "We have a 3 year plan!" "We're gonna build throught the draft" Analytics, but I'll have to think about it? Building in the image of the Steelers (Not) Delta Sonic/Bills ticket special $24.99 (3 deluxe car washes and 2 Bills tickets or option of a 4th wash) The Team that Ralph Wrecked! You sank my battleship! "Turn out the lights the party's over" You win some, you lose moRE Oh Well !! Maybe next year? Anticipation flipped! Thanks a lot Budd! BuddyBall ! Blame the Dougs! It's going to the Dougs! We are going to search high & low for a QB !!! 99 Bottles of beer on the wall! Labbatt's and the Bills both blew! What's the difference between the Bills and Cherrios? Ans. Cheerios belong in a bowl! "That was then, this is now" At least we are consistent! We rotate are players so they can rest! and Doug Marrone replies: At least we won 10 of the coin tosses!!! Doug Marrone after Bills lose 42-17 to the Patriots: " At least the fans won a free Quarter Pounder with their ticket stubs." We're breaking him in slowly! referring to E.J. Well they're young, but they work hard, and they give 110% you know !!!
  18. Our CB's have not produced well the past year or so in particular. Mckelvin is a good ST guy, but doesn't know what to do with his hands when defending a pass. I think Gilmore is going to be solid as he continues to learn & improve. Outside of that, what do we have at CB as far as talent? A couple of mid or late round picks this year that may not even make the roster. Our drafting has been marginal over the years, and teams that draft at the end of the round normally out-draft us ie: N.Eng, Pitt, Indy, Den, etc....We released some players like Barnett that we could've really used..actually a few players..who statistically had more tackles than what remains on the roster. This creates more holes, and also less depth at the position. This has occurred at CB, and at LB, also at WR (But at WR I did agree with the moves they make and am very hopeful about Woods & Rogers. I'm not as sold on Goodwin, but if he can become a better route runner, and hangs on to the ball..well he can burn anyone in the league with his blazing 4.27 speed! I think the Bills at best have an average roster possibly, but it's premature to judge them based on closed OTA's. I'm 50/50 on E.J. Manuel until he has a sustained period of success. He may be 3rd string if he doesn't handle pre-season well. I really don't have any confidence in Kolb or T. Jackson either. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. I really think that other teams will be more interested in teams like New England, Baltimore, Houston, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Denver, Indy, S. Fran, Seattle, etc..etc..all before the Bills when it comes to players that are cut! Until I see some of the 90's magic on the field I'm thinking that we're looking at 5-11 this season plus or minus 1 game. If the stars are aligned right, everything is maxed out...the coaching is outstanding, EJ is a starter who surprisingly does well, the receivers pan out, the bounces go right, etc....then the upper limit is 9-7, but until "I see more than I hear" I will stick with my 5-11 prediction which could change with the signing of 2 or 3 key free agents and other factors such as injuries.
  19. I don't need to read no blog to know the difference between a successful GM or not...Bill Polian didn't just get lucky! C';mon...He only hit on Dwight Freeney, Jeff Saturday, Peyton Manning, Reggie Wane, etc...C'mon.... Ozzie Newsome I agree has been awesome, and the 49'ers have a good GM too! But, I still think Polian is a great candidate!!!!!!!!! Whaley may be ok? No track record....I like a proven track record better!! So does history.... If he were running out of the tunnel with pads and a helmet I would agree with you, but I think that he can still work a pen and paper very well!
