  1. Yay!!! Somebody finally agrees with me!! There's one!!! C'mon everybody, Polian has been successful everywhere he's been and nothing against D. Whaley as he "might" be an up in comer??? (Unproven..)... Polian has always been successful that's all! Don't get the people who are disputing Polian's reputation? He built Indy based on the Bills...He picked Peyton Manning (was it over Leaf?) He can pick'em good! Someone said he can't draft well!!!! Hmm, Peyton Manning, Dwight Freeney, Jeff Saturday...did he draft or acquire Reggie Wayne, oh yeah and I can't remember the name of their receiver, but he was great too..among others!!! Did he pick Julius Peppers in Carolina? What are these people talking about anyways?? Let's get Polian!!!
  2. Let's get this up on the board...Let's get the plane here with Polian in it!!! Tired of this ( ) Please!!! come to Buffalo Bill Polian! No more bad stuff or missing playoffs I'm tired of yelling at a brick wall! or explaining to my wife why the Bills are so bad when all I want is: Superbowl !!!! Appreicate the detail... : )
  3. Did your heart skip a beat?? Even the naysayer got excited for a couple o seconds didn't you?Well despite the boring, stay on the same topic for 4 hours WGR550 AM Radio Show might say about hiring Bill Polian....It all fits into a nice package!First of all there is a vacancy, Second of all Buddy Nix didn't act like he assumed Whaley was the guy even though all his interviewers have so far....One thing about Nix is that if he knows something he almost always foreshadows it, rather it's on the pone to an Atlanta Falcon's owner or almost spelling out him drafting C.J. Spiller. Nix always puts the cards upright on the table!Thirdly, Bill Polian is available, he's killing time at ESPN...but he's a GM at heart! Bill Polian's resume is unchallenged, and history usually repeats itself. He Built the Bills Superbowl team of the early 90's, He turned Carolina into an impressive expansion team, He built Indy in the image of the Bills!!! Polian knows the winning formula period!!!!An example of history repeating itself is the Patriots, Broncos, Steelers, Colts, Eagles, etc...usually good teams with few leans years. They draft lower than the Bills, Lions, Browns, etc...almost every year and out draft those teams by a wide margin!!!! It's an example of a winning philosophy! Over the course of the last 15 years there is no comparison!!! That is why it is important to have a proven winner at the helm! Someone that history already dictates will bring us a winner, instead of an inexperienced GM in D. Whaley that only had partial responsibility in the Steeler organization. If Whaley was an integral part the Steelers wouldn't have dispensed of him so easily, instead there must have been a power struggle or rift within management ranks, and the Steelers kept the integral cog in their wheel ! This is not a random post, but rather a well thought out thought process based on past performance, although no guarantee, a good indicator of future performance!!! Let's start up a Hire Bill Polian campaign now, before it's too late and we fall into another decade of non-playoff despair!!!What do we know for sure? We know that Marrone was a inexpensive flight from Syracuse, and came relatively cheap, as did most of his coaching staff. We know that Marrone, and a lot of his staff never coached in the professional ranks, and in their current positions except for maybe Pettine and a couple others. We know that E.J. Manuel is a project that has a strong arm, but has a delivery that will need modification, and will have to work on many aspects of his game before he will even have a chance at being an effective QB in the NFL.We know that we cut many players like Barnett, G. Wilson, and lost Levitre and others. We don't have sufficient depth at many positions, and CB will show it's ugly deficiencies throughout the year. McKelvin was a bad pick as he played against inferior competition in college and it reflects on the field. He uses his speed well on Special Teams, but that's about it...But despite everything that looks so hopeful during the spring when there is no opposition and it's sunny outside....There is no reason to believe the Bills will win more than 5 games this season plus or minus 1 game! There is no reason for me to believe that the Bills will hire Polian though, as Polian wouldn't come as cheap as a rookie GM like Whaley! We want Polian! We want Polian! We want Polian! + Bills = Playoffs, & Championships!!!!!!!!Whatever it takes to get this up on the board!!!Who else wants Bill Polian???? Post it...spread the word!!! Make a poll for it!!!
  4. My latest rumor is that Regier wants to be a GM of the Bills, and Nix's secret ambition is tho be a GM of a hockey team..so there you go!!!! Realistically, though I would love to see the Bills hire Bill Polian as GM !!! I don't care what the Quacks at WGR550 AM say! The last time we were successful it was a result of him! He assembled the parts that were still here when Butler arrived. He was the built the Super bowl teams of the 90's, He built the Indianapolis Colts from scratch in the image of the Bills....He also built the Carolina Panthers into a very good team in their initial years. He may be getting older, but so was Nix...So was Levy.. History is made to repeat itself, and what a way would it be for Polian to close his career bringing a (hmm hmm) AFC Championship to the Bills, dare I say (SupxxBoxl) !!!!!!! I doubt the Bills and Wilson would, but it really makes sense! Polian always talks about how he loves Buffalo etc..especially since he left Indy. Remember he didn't really want to leave Indy, I think he was kind of forced out because of disagreement within the ranks and ownership. Okay, I don't get on here much...(kids, family pressure, work, & college), but I wanted to state my opinion......Positive and Negative feedback is fine as I can understand the argument against the idea to some extent!!!
  5. Thank You from saving me from having to say all the things you just said as that's pretty much along the lines of what I was thinking!!! To sum it up briefly "Doesn't mean a Dam thing" it's May! Trent Edwards looked good without pads in the spring as well! Every year everyone say's 10 wins & 6 losses and I'm the miserable person who say's 5, 6, or 7 wins! Unfortunately, I've been right or close to it every year for the past 10!!!! So here's about what you are looking at...Don't hold your breath, 5 wins give or take one win! I sure hope I'm wrong, but the Bills are missing parts yet, missing depth yet, and have to nurture and groom a hopeful rookie, replace levitre, suit up an effective LB corps (yeah, right), hope McKelvin can find some game as a CB, not just on Teams! I like the new WR's we have if D'rick Rodgers can keep his nose clean and their track star in Goodwin can use his speed to catch some balls instead of dropping them like T.J. Graham does. Woods should be a solid WR..nothing flashy but solid! Rookie coaches, new offense, new defense, some promise and close games, but too many holes and too many carryovers from the past regime to succeed. 5-11
  6. Here's the deal imo...Best available player at positions of interest. 1. Robert Woods, WR, USC- I know most have Kennan Allen rated above Robert Woods, but I think Woods is the better choice based on several reasons: Allen lacks vertical speed and will not become a featured vertical receiver as speed is something not learned. Also, Allen had a knee injury near the end of the 2012 Season. Robert Woods catches with his hands and is quick off the line of scrimmage. He runs the slant and go as well as any receiver in this year's draft class. 2. Zach Ertz, TE, Stanford- Will quickly come off the board in the 2nd round as he is a high-effort TE that makes difficult over the shoulder catches. Zach is a determined blocker and runs sharp routes and has the ability to pluck the ball at its highest point. 3. Sam Montgomery, DE, LSU- DE may not be a position of absolute need, but it would be a shame at this point in the draft to pass up on such a high effort player who is relentless! Montgomery hustles and runs to the ball and has excellent lateral quickness. He always finishes the play! Now that's what I call leadership by example...and that can go a long way with a young team!!! 4. Kevin Minter, ILB, LSU- Kevin doesn't have an advantage of size, speed, or being a hard hitter, instead he is loaded with intangibles, knows the angles, and has a deep desire to make that tackle. Minters is a first round value that may slide based on his size, but has a heart of a warrior! 5. Jonathan Banks, CB, Mississippi State- Jonathan is the top senior corner, with four years experience. Has good hands, and can be used as an edge blitzer. honorable mentions: Matt Barkley QB, USC,,,,, Eddie Lacy, RB,.....So would you pick in the 2NLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL obviously it's late and I'm zoning out, but I do want to see other's projections....
  7. It was the early 90's and the Bills were playing the Dolphins in a playoff game in Miami (Joe Robbie Stadium?.) Anyways, My family consisting of my wife, my 8 yr old daughter, and myself all traveled from Orchard Park, NY to Miami in our Dodge Caravan. As we crossed into Florida we realized that we shouldn't have decorated our van in Buffalo Bills decor, including a Bills license plate holder, a Bills flag in the window, and some Bills writing on its sides. Several vehicles crossed lanes right in front of us and nearly hit us or cut us off. People were yelling at us out their car windows words not fit for a family. Finally, twenty-four hours later we stopped at a gas station right near the stadium as it began to downpour. I tried to swipe my credit card as the rain is soaking my Bill's gear. The guy asks me to step inside and tells me to try again. I go back outside and once again the card wouldn't work properly while I'm getting soaked. He calls me in once more and swipes my card and as I exit him and another guy are smirking at each other and I realize I'm being toyed with! Finally, I get my gas and we drive to the stadium parking lot. It was a different kind of environment when I noticed some tailgaters and it cost us a lot more to park there considering it was over 20 years ago ( $25.00). People were drinking all these fruity drinks in these big dainty glasses, how pathetic they looked to a die-hard Bills fan that was used to seeing people drink beer! I just sighted the Will-Call and as I'm about to park I have a SUV behind me with lights flashing!!! As I wondered what I could have possibly did wrong a stadium security guy walks up to my driver's window. He asked me, "Where are you headed?" I responded, "I am heading to the Will-Call to get my tickets for the game." He responded by saying to me, "You can come back tomorrow to get them." I explained that I was there for today's game, but he told me to follow him off the stadium grounds!! I did as instructed and eventually I found another entrance while driving in a monsoon. We enter the parking lots once again and I hurried up and parked our van. I was thoroughly exhausted as I drove the majority of the trip and didn't get any rest. I could hear people making nasty comments about the Bills and our van and it was intimidating. We finally got our tickets and headed inside the stadium. There was an usher who was directing people to their seats, and being unfamiliar with the stadium I asked him for directions. A security guard walked up to me and told me specifically that my family and I better take our seats, keep our mouths shut, and if I caused any disturbance at all that we would be removed from the stadium! I was stone sober and regretting my decision of my family and I attending this game. My wife reminded me not to cheer, and ignore the entire section of fans who were behind us and yelling at me. I looked to my left in disgust and there is this guy dressed as a "Roman Gladiator," and he is pointing at us (but most of it was directed towards me, as I caught most of the wrath.) I don't see any Bills fan in the end zone that I am sitting and I notice that lots of people are silently pointing at me! I have to admit I was very uncomfortable, and the popcorn, peanuts, and cups that continued to bounce off my jacket didn't help matters at all! Anyways, it was a long game that was difficult to concentrate on, and the Bills lost the game in the end because of a fumble. I don't remember the details of the game, but I do remember how bad I was treated in Miami from the moment I arrived until the moment I left. Fans backed off some and were jubilant with their playoff victory. It turned into some fun teasing, and laughing at me more than pure hatred and anger that preceded the game. As we arrived to our van I removed as much of the writing and Bills writing as I could. I wasn't in the mood to endure anymore! We waned through traffic, heard all the horns, heard some yelling and laughing aimed at us and finally got onto the interstate. I drove through Florida as quickly as I could despite fans hanging out their windows and waving their dolphins junk at us. Until it was dark some of their fans narrowly (on purpose) would miss us as they switched into our lane right in front of us. I thanked God when we got out of that God Forsaken place known as Florida and told myself that I will never treat another fan of an opposing team the way that I was treated and will never spend my money or my time in Miami ever again no matter what!!!
  8. Actually I hear Matt Scott's name brought up a lot on WGR550 Radio...Like he's some darkhorse savior ie:Tom Brady like? I think he is a project player that may make a good backup. If the Bills passed up on Rob Gronkowski in a later stage of the draft when they still had the same need for depth and performance at the position...What makes you think they are going to use the 8th or 13th pick in the draft for a TE? I might consider it, but not Buddy boy!!! I think Buddy and his boys go after a LB, or CB and a little whisper within say's don't be surprised at an OT with their first pick and possibly move back into round 1 for a QB before pick 28.... I think the Bills will nab their WR or TE possibly in the 3rd round if they didn't trade that pick away?? I'm not opposed to your Mitner pick in the 2nd round provided he is still on the board, which I'm not so sure of? For being a draft that you crafted yourself in your dream scenario of sorts including trades and all..I feel that we could've done much better. I think Geno, Nassib, and Barkley are all better options than Scott, but I would not be opposed to drafting one of those 3 and snagging Scott in the third if we can fill some of our roster holes with free agents prior to the draft....I think in this draft in the first 2 rounds it needs to be a QB & WR in either order, and then get your CB, LB, TE, OG, etc.... We drafted heavy defense last year and really need to invest in our offense. Oh yeah, didn't we already have a player from Tennesee that had a drug problem, that fathered many kids, and was our running back that we got rid of to Denver? Why would we want to harbor another druggie on a squad with a lot of impressionable young players that lack a true leader? It's better to avoid these kind of bargain players. We got rid of Lynch and his mouth, guns, and his junk...we don't need a pacman jones type of player!!!! I really don't like this mock at all!!! yuck...so maybe this will be suitable to buddy as I usually don't like his draft neither!!!
  9. Realist here..Hello. I admire your positive vibe about the Bills and hope and pray that things are finally turning for the better, and that better days are ahead. I think stop #1 is Free Agency, and thus far I have been disappointed overall. You got contending teams and non-tenders who signed 4,5,6,7,8, and even at least 9 Free Agents while we signed two mid-range players to slow down some of the leaks, but not quite plugs! We had several holes on our roster due to free agency losses, and possibly to injury to the TE, but considering all the holes we added to our demise by self-creating more holes by cutting several players including our 2 top tacklers, one being Nick Barnett? We can ill afford more holes in our "Swiss Cheese roster." I don't see Kolb as the next coming, but he'll get his chance to prove himself considering the competition on the roster. I don't see this draft worthy of wasting a #8 pick on a QB, yet considering the deficiency we probably should trade down a few slots and pickup whomever the Bills draft war room has slotted the highest on their board while picking up an extra pick or two in the process. Overall, The Bills have not had a draft that graded out as an "A" in many years, yet that is exactly what they need if they want to even smell playoff contention. I want to be hopefully, but "realistically," based on the history of the Bills I believe that they are looking at 4-6 wins this year (sound familiar?) As analogies go...You have your Honda's, Toyota's, Fords, etc...and then you have your Yugo's, AMC's, & Old Chrysler "k" cars! Unless we are going to get serious about utilizing our resources, pickup key free agents, and drafting better than New England seeing that they pick 20 picks below us everyear...Until we make a commitment to assembling "Quality" parts, the talk of hope, and the expectations of 10 wins and the playoffs will remain just that, and like every year..I get blasted by one or two Bills fans for not buying into the "New Bills" Hype, and how this new staff, and this team that got rid of the deadwood is going to take this league by storm and contend for the (Playoffs.. Playoffs!!!)...but as the sun fades, and the temperatures drop these fans who I p'd off are nowhere to be found, until the next off-season when everything is forgotten and new hope rises with the spring sunshine!!!! There is no bigger fan, I'm addicted to following the Bills, I set-up my own war room, and study the Bills and have been doing my own analytics for years. I was mad when we passed on Rob Grankowski, Bryan Orakapo, Colin Capernick, Hali Ngnata, and others that were my projections, and to my disappointment some of the same boneheads on the Bills staff remain, and that is part of the problem! Look at Detroit, Cleveland, the Bills, and until recently Cincinatti, and a few other teams...Almost every year they stink, and if they inadvertently pickup a couple of players and sniff success they soon recede right back into the depths of despair and muddy water!!! You ever notice how New England is good every year, and Pittsburgh, and Indianapolis are good every year, and when Indy went down they went down hard for a one year hiatus, and rebounded with a vengence!!! This is because their management makes shrewd decisions and out draft us, out coach us, pickup essential FA's, and hire the right people in their organization to build on their past successes and future Superbowl titles !!!! So even though I have it all figured out I will remain polite, wish you optimists well as I long for the same result as you do, but the difference is that I can recognize the signs of team building towards the playoffs and beyond, and unfortunately those teams are Cincinnati, Seatle, possible Kansas City despite last season, maybe Washington, but not our Bills !!!! 2013-2014 (5-11) Sorry.....
  10. I like Nassib somewhat, but I think it's dangerous to over value players because an obvious need. Last year Nassib would have been either a 3rd or 4th round selection and I don't think you draft him this year in the 1st round because of a weak QB class in contrast. I do see that you mentioned moving back and I agree with that idea. At best R. Nassib dictates a 2nd round pick at best, only due to the nature of QB's being picked prematurely on a consistent basis. Added reason not to select Nassib too soon is that we (The Bills) have so many needs including wr/cb/lb/depth on the OL, TE, etc...and they have only 6 picks to fill those glaring needs. It's important to get the best player available in one of those key positions. If the highest rated player on their board in the 1st rnd is a CB then so be it, if it's a WR then good pick'em! Stay true to your board is what I say, unless a glaring needs can be filled without a marketable drop-off in evaluation. If Nassib is your guy then I say trade up to the 1st spot in the 2nd round if possible (as it takes two to make a trade..) Moving up in the same round will cost you less than moving back into the 1st round, and giving up a 3rd round this year to move back into the first is not an option with too few picks. Here is a better scenario imo. 1. Trade back from #8 pick to a pick in the #10-19 range and pickup an extra 2nd rounder or whatever you can get in return that is reasonable, and then trade back again in the #20-28 range and pick up more draft picks. This year in particular you should be able to pickup a player ie: #25 that has nearly the same potential as #8 pick as there is little seperation and although weak at the top end it is a deep draft pool. You likely could nab Nassib at #25, possibly have 3 picks in the second round to get a WR, LB, & CB. In the 3rd you can pickup your TE, and maybe have another pick to select from moving down to get a OG. I don't think this idea is that far fetched as New England does this most years and drafts better than us and more abundantly despite picking way later every year! Last year I believe Cleveland moved back twice in the second round if I remember correctly. So my point is don't get too obsessed with one player or you are going to over value him and expend a pick that you shouldn't have to do it...Stay true to your board Buffalo Bills otherwise the talent evaluation process is wasted time, money, and energy!!! Go Bills!
  11. You got that exactly right! I hope for, but don't anticipate Buddy drafting the right players once again! It should be his last huraah though with Whaley filling his shoes soon...I'm almost numb and resigned to the fact that until this organization cleans house in the management department, including Ralph not being in the equation and having new ownership that we will always have the same history consisting of different names and just repeating itself over and over! Bad teams, and ownership tend to stay bad or burst into the scene like Detroit started to and then fall right back to the also rans of the NFL ie: Buffalo, Cleveland, Detroit, Arizona (1 or 2 year exception), Oakland, etc....I would bet we will win between 4-7 games this year and that's being an optimist.
  12. I think the Bills should look to trade down just a few picks if possible in the 1st round, and if possible do a Cleveland (at least I thought Cleveland traded down twice in first round?) and trade down a little further down in the first...probably get your QB in the 20-32nd pick range, and pick up multiple 2nd or 3rd round picks to get us up to maybe 9 or 10 picks in the draft. We have a lot of holes to fill plus depth. I think that QB, WR, TE, LB, G, CB, are all positions that we should address. There are probably other positions as well though so you can't have too many picks! The problem is that I don't see Buddy Nix doing that.....I think he'll go CB in the 1st round, QB in the 2nd or trade up to the top of the 2nd to get Nassib. In the 3rd round expect a WR, in the 4th a LB, in the 5th a G. Not too exciting, but I've never liked Nix's draft strategy for the Bills so far! I really want something flashier for the 1st round, but this is the Bills and they haven't convinced me yet that they are heading in the right direction until I see some positive results!!
  13. I remember buddy saying a couple of years ago that Free Agency is just a stop gap to fill a need with marginal talent. That he didn't believe in overpaying etc..(except for Mario? right buddy...) Anyways some of the premier teams have picked up 7, 8, and 9 free agents, and except for the Daniel Snyder's Redskins overpaying many teams have faired well!!! Buddy said a few years ago that when free agency began at midnight that he was already sound asleep, and didn't believe in losing sleep over free agency. The problem is the Bills had many holes prior to cutting Barnett and several other starters which created more holes. With only 6 picks and history reveals that the Bills will only hit on 1-3 of their selections...They can not adequately fill their roster with talented players and instead you wil see them sign several non-drafted rookies instead on the cheap! This team also p's me off every year, and it's frustrating as they pass on players like Hali Nnata, Clay Matthews, Bryan Orakapo, etc...and for all the credit that Buddy gets for being a good talent evaluator, it makes me wonder. Yeah, I like C.J. Spiller, but they lack a 4th & goal back still....I didn't agree with the pick then and usually don't. I think the Bills wll mess it up once again as they introduce the next J.P. Lossman, or Trent Edwards! M i s e r y..
  14. It really doesn't matter what we think or vote for because Buddy Nix will probably try to out trick himself and stick with the best player available option and select a running back! I was so upset when we passed on C. kaepernick !! I was so p.o.'d when we passed on Bryan Orakapo and picked Aaron Maybin instead!! I wanted to throw something..... My prediction is the Bills will pick a CB with the first pick which will infuriate me (despite needing a CB..) The problem is we really need to address the QB and WR problem in the draft and could even use two QB's, one in the 1st or 2nd round and maybe one in the 5th or 6th round while still drafting a LB, TE, CB, and maybe sliding down a few spots so you can gain a pick and draft another OT or OG. The sad thing is we have more holes than swiss cheese and the Bills remain nearly silent through Free Agency while some teams have picked up as many as 9 free agents!!! Look at what Miami did......Fire Nix if he blows it again!
  15. It's rumored that Buddy Nix was observed reading a book "How to be frugal with other people's money," before his cat nap while in the stands watching Tyler Wilson's workout in Arkansas...
  16. The thought of holding a "fire sale" in March before FA is over, and before drafting is certifiable!!! Not worthy of further explanation! "You play to win the game!"
  17. I think a look at Ryan Mallet would be interesting as he is being baited around by New England right now! Some say N.E. would never deal with us being a divisional foe, but you remember Drew Bledsoe, and Lawyer Malloy? So just maybe, if we could get him for a 3rd round pick? Just an idea...He has a lot of good traits mechanically...He may lack leadership skills? and intangibles, but it's worth an interview with him if the Pat's allow it.
  18. I can understand how you feel about gathering picks, but the time is now! There is no place in the NFL for waiting until next year on some pipe dream that we will land Johnny football! Teams often do turn it around in one year..We are not a powerhouse, and we are not the worst team in the NFL..It will take being the worst team to draft Johnny.....The Bills will need all the picks they can muster next year as well to continue to plug the many holes they have, and build depth. Geno isn't the consensus best QB out there in the draft...Too many armchair GM's are all repeating each other saying he's the best in a subpar QB class. He's no better than Ryan Nassib in my opinion and I think Nassib has more long-term potential. Did you watch Nassib (Syracuse vs W.V.) play against Geno this year? As matter of fact Geno is always lousy against Syracuse, so how up on Nassib do you think our ex-Syracuse coaching staff will be on Geno Smith? I'm laughing because I know we are not going in that direction....Not that Nassib will be the savior of our franchise. I don't think there is any QB in this class that is a lock! Luck & RGIII were both special players and this draft doesn't have that! If Mallet was in this year's draft he would be right up there in contention with the rest...Glennon, Nassib, Barkley, Smith, etc....If we moved down in the first, picked up an extra 2nd rounder, and used that to trade for Mallet while picking up either a LB or a WR in the first round, and the other in the 2nd round we essentially gave up nothing but position in the first round and got Mallet to boot! However it turns out I hope one of us ends up right, and we end up with a franchise QB who will eventually lead us to the Lombardi...and yes, EJ is rising up the draft boards and is an interesting option according to Mike Mayock.
  19. The latest from the Rumor Mills.... The New England Patriots are actively shopping around Ryan Mallet. Two teams are pursuing the services of Ryan Mallet which include the Buffalo Bills and the Cleveland Browns. With the QB draft pool being mediocre at best in contrast to recent NFL Draft classes New England feels that they can get a good return on a trade involving Ryan Mallet. The Patriot's price may be to steep as they are asking for a first round draft choice which would give them two picks in the first round. The Buffalo Bills are rumored to be offering a 3rd round draft pick and a swap with New England of first round picks. Ultimately, a 2nd round pick is believed to be the ticket to Mallet's services. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns are rumored to be in the hunt of a FA Quarterback and have been also in pursuit of Ryan Mallet. No trade offers have been disclosed so far, but it is anticipated that Cleveland will also make a trade offer tonight. Stay tuned!
  20. The Bills are trying desperately to land a QB in FA sometime either tonight or tomorrow. My guess is that they loosened up the bank by deverting 7 million of Fitzpatrick's cap hit until 2014, and are eagerly trying to work a trade with New England for Ryan Mallet. The snag is that the Bills are offering their 3rd round pick, but New England wants the Bills 2nd rounder and to swap 1st round picks with us. Cleveland is also in the hunt for Mallet, so don't be surprised to see R. Mallet move sometime soon!!! The price will probably be a 2nd rounder ultimately as Mallet's trade value is up due to the mediocre QB talent in this draft pool.
  21. Oh heck no! We don't want the Tebow, but I heard we have interest in Ryan Mallett as the Patriots are shopping him around. Cleveland is also interested in Mallett though which may drive up the price. I don't think you stand a chance of seeing Tebow in a Bills uniform! Then again it is the Bills........So I guess you have reason to be optimistic!!! He does have God's influence..right?
  22. This organization still is wishy-washy in some of the personnel decisions that they make! There is a reason why Detroit can only get so good and then and then quickly fall back to where they normally are. There is a reason that Cleveland is a cellar dwellar and the Bills as well. There is a reason why Belicheck can select 28-32 most years and outdraft us and select players of the caliber of Brady and Grownkowski. There is a reason why for years Indy was one of the top teams in the NFL and had one bad season, and they are right back into form. Good organizations are shrewd and make smart maneuvers. We are already in trouble for the next year or more by our own doing! Yes, there is a salary cap, and salary hits for resigning your veterans etc...but if you are going to release some of your players to make room in salary cap, you better not release any that are some of the leading players you have at a given position when you already are short on talent, and deficient in player depth at most positions! The Bills released a decent veteran in George Wilson, and also released Nick Barnett at LB. The Bills were already hurting at the LB positon and by releasing Barnett they created another hole. Instead of the overall team improving and gradually ciphering out undesirable players we now have to replace the holes that was self-created by utilizing free agency and the draft. Instead of bettering ourselves drastically at several key positons we are going to find ourselves selecting or signing multiple LB's, and a safety, and filling other areas of self inflicted needs! The problem is when you already had a deficiency at QB, WR, TE, CB, etc....how are you going to build in those areas by taking more bites into your piece of swiss cheese in the Bills? Sure you can get your QB etc...in the draft and overpay like everyone does in free agency, but now you just created bigger cap problems than you have which will make it further difficult to sign players like Jairus Byrd, and Levitre among others. I really don't like the way the Bills are handling things and don't be surprised if they let Leodis McKelvin walk as well. Instead of taking the best player on the board what the Bills will cause by their actions to date is the scenario of having to move down in the draft to select players that will demand less costly contracts. That will play into the positional selection as well as to where they want to select if a team agrees to trade where they select in the draft. What I see from the Bills is trading down from the 8th pick to somewhere around 17-21st in the first round. I think they will go defense with that first pick and hope that the QB that is on their board survives until the second round. I'm not sure what is proper trade value for that trade, but I'm guessing it would be an extra pick in the second or third round. When you are making all these extra cuts by releasing or not resigning players you need more picks, therefore I feel that this will inspire the Bills to go for quantity of picks over quality or best opportunities. This accomplishes two things in Management's eyes. 1. More reasonable contracts on lower picks in the first round and possibly in the second if they trade down twice? 2. More selections to fill some of the gaping holes that the Bills created on their roster in the past couple of weeks. So getting back to the Bills....Who is really running the show? Brandon??? He's not a football guy! What does J. Overdorf do? What is Whaley's input while Buddy is still here? It sounds to me as if things are still in disarray and I think after the draft when we all feel like it's Christmas morning and we are ready to go, and soon after when training camp, ota's , and all that stuff closing in...it is easy to think...Hey, they did this and that...and look at the schedule...hmmm maybe this is the year they will put it all together and go 10-6 !!! But, like most every year...okay every year!!! It'll be more like 4-12, 5-11, 6-10, 7-9 , but I definitely would say anything more optimistic is just kidding yourself! I think 5-11 is the most accurate prediction! Now I hope they convince me otherwise....but like I said, Good teams are good for a reason, and that reason is that they have people at the top of their hierarchy making solid decisions year in and year out! San Diego, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, New England, Indianapolis, and then you have your Bills, Lions, Browns, etc...that drafts near the top most years, but haven't a clue!!!! We passed up Grankowski, Hali Ngnata, Brian Cushing, Bryan Orakapo, Colin Kaepernick, Russel Wilson, and many other Pro Bowl Caliber players that went to lower seeded teams! So don't even tell me that Buddy Nix is a great talent evaluator!
  23. That's odd because someone close to the Bills mentioned there was interest by the Bills, but never said that they did it, or would do it, just that there was interest by them..So I thought maybe?? But if they think it's KC or Jax then maybe it is? I'm not claiming to have a lot of inside info or anything, but living close to the stadium and living in O.P. most of my life, over the years I have known players & personnel through my kids usually...for instance my daughter was good friends with Pat Williams's daughter back when he was here. I'd see Thurmon picking up his kids at school in his black suv etc...sometimes I'd strike up a little conversation with some Bills people..not necessary the ones I mentioned..and I'd find out little tidbits...as there is usually hesitation for them to say too much. Like I said..I heard the Bills were interested to some degree and if so, I'd rather him than Fitzpatrick...Alex Smith was doing awesome before he was injured despite any limitations he may have, and I know Fitzpatrick has more limitations than Smith does! Not my favorite idea, but I'm just hoping as keeping Fitz is just more of the same!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Regardless we have to draft a QB...or two! I like Nassib for obvious reasons, and Tyler Bray impressed me so far at the combine. I'm mixed on Geno Smith, and curious about Matt Barkley despite his poor season this past year. I'd like to hear what you think about if it came down to either having Fitzpatrick or Alex Smith on your roster????? What QB(s) should the Bills consider drafting??
  24. I'm not even going to waste time reading these posts as the answer is quite obvious. We will end up with a record that is sub 8-8 based on many things including past performance. First of all we are creating more holes than we already had by cutting Nick Barnett and several other players. I am not really fond of most of those players, but we already had enough holes to fill without creating several more Linebacking was already hurting and Barnett was one of our key linebackers? He was solid, not great by any stretch, but not terrible neither. By making it a point to keep Fitzpatrick it shows me that we are still going in the same direction. I don't like the idea of keeping any of last years QB's and although there is no guarantees out there in FA and the Draft I really dislike the idea of keeping Fitz, and T. Jackson! I could go on...but I think we are looking at 4-6 wins next season with the implementation of a new offense and defense, coaching staff, and many new players. I expect to take a step back before moving forward, but was hoping it didn't include Fitzpatrick who overthrows his downfield passes, and throws at the ground more often than not on those short 5 or 10 yard dump offs. Yuck!!! My prediction: 5-11
  25. I'm sorry once I get on a roll....hope you win big on a scratch off to make up for it!
