  1. For my money I would select Marcell Dareus DT who is very versatile and has a much stronger anchor than the thin framed Nick Fairley. The good thing with Dareus is that he could easily be employed in a 4-3 or 3-4 defense or a hybird offshoot of both. The biggest weakness of the Bills is the inability to stop, or even slow down the run game. This is not inside knowledge or anything and has been widely documented as far as the Bills atrocious run defense. They need a wide body plug that also has the ability to chase down the QB, and apply pressure while getting the occasional sack. Dareus is fully capable of all of this and is the prototypical size needed at the positon, unlike Von Miller who is highly talented but slightly undersized even though he is strong and fast and a sack machine. To me the most complete player that measures up with the Bills needs is Dareus. I do not feel that the Bills should be spending a first round pick on a WR in most any draft. WR's often are available in Free Agency or 4th round or below. You can often pickup a undrafted freeagent WR like we did after our last draft, and that has seemed to work out very well for us! Many WR's drafted in the 4th round or lower have done quite well in the NFL and like several of the posters have mentioned, this is not a positon of great need. It's always great to stockpile talented WR's, but we first have to concentrate on our severe inabilities before we can build depth at positions of strength. If Marcell Dareus is already selected then my considerations would switch to either the QB route or Fairley or Von Miller and that is it! I personally rather wait until the 2nd round to select Colin Kaepernick QB who set a major NCAA record in being the only collegiate QB ever!! to throw for 10,000 yards and run for another 4,ooo yards in his collegiate career! He has perhaps the strongest arm in the draft along with Mallett and Locker, and has a lot of intangibles to boot! I think the next choice I would strongly consider would be Von Miller if Marcell Dareus is gone! Pass on the QB (pardon the pun)....Consider Fairly, but probably avoid that route as he is a red flag bull matador! So you selected A.J. Green..... I will select Marcell Dareus DT...and my Alternate in case he is gone is Von Miller OLB. I'll bet you..unless (Chan Gailey pushes hard for either Newton or Gabbert..) It will be one of the two..and I'd bet the ranch no matter what it will not be A.J. Green.
  2. and that NY City cabby he gets his Bills picks from! lol
  3. Those are the exact two picks I just replied to a post to and I said that the Bills will probably pick Miller and Ponder! I mean like 5 min. ago!! That doesn't thrill me as you are getting a highly talented player in Miller that may be slightly undersized and depends on speed and burst rather than size and strength to get to the QB. Oh I know he is very strong for his size..but to me it's a potential limitation and once he's well paid I wonder if his motor may not simmer down just slightly and it's all fractions of a second in the NFL when it comes to making a play or not! I don't think he would fall as far as Aaron Maybin, but I doubt he will be the next Clay Matthews! Ponder..I just don't feel good about the pick even if we stayed put..he's always hurt..struggles with pocket pressure and is going to a leaugue where the players are bigger and faster! I will bet that he will be one of those players that will get concussions and always playing with injuries. My NFL Draft guide..(one of several)...compares him most closely to Trent Edwards as a player! No Thanks! I would stay right where we are at and see who falls! With Locker, Dalton, Newton, Ponder, Kaepernick, Mallett, Gabbert, and maybe one or two others..I doubt they will all be gone by the second round! If they are then there is going to be some 1st round OT's, DT's, DE'S, LB's in the second that will bring great value and be steals in the 2nd round! I prefer Kaepernick over everyone, and if he's gone...I would wait until the 3rd or 4th to draft Ricky Stanzi who I feel is a sleeper that has great potential! I would not get sucked into drafting a QB prematurely unless the Bills are 100% sold on only one QB in this draft and have total conviction in that selection! Then if that's the case let the chips lay where they fall and take'em, but I sure hope it's not Christian Ponder, as that would make me sure ponder about where this organization is going? To me Drafting Ponder would be a big.. we did it again!
  4. I just hope according to Nix's theory that they don't have a strong enough conviction in Ponder that they would draft him at #3 thinking he may possibly be gone by the 2nd round! Playing the other side of that coin is that if the Bills don't have a strong enough conviction of Ponder to make that reach then they have no business drafting Ponder in the second round because all they would be doing is admitting that he is not as talented as Gabbert or Newton! Personally I don't like that Ponder gets injured often and easily, and struggles sometimes to identify pocket pressure until it's too late. The closest comparison some of my NFL 2011 Draft publications make of Ponder is to of all QB's............Yes, you got it...Trent (Captain checkdown!) Edwards !!! No Thanks.. If I'm going to take a chance in the 2nd it's with Colin Kaepernick who set NCAA records with his combined run/pass total yards and had high numbers for at least two years and a good interception/td ratio as well. He probably has the strongest arm of all QB's followed by Mallett, Locker, and Newton. A QB coach that trained and worked with both Cam Newton and Colin kaepernick said something to the effect that Kapepernick was the better athlete of the two, and ahead as far as his ability to perform in an NFL offense. He said many other things in Kaepernick's favor as well and is my hands down pick of choice for QB. And to backup how I feel even though it doesn't carry any weight in the Bills front office..lol..but if need be I would select Colin Kaepernick in the first round if detected a strong potential that someone late in the first or early second round might grab him before us!
  5. I agree with a lot of what you said..(which doesn't happen often on here!)..I also favor a QB in the 2nd round and saw some of the Gruden/QB program you mentioned on ESPN2. I probably only saw 15 min. of it, but it still gave me insight to some degree on a few of these guys!I agree about Marcell Dareus or Von Miller (not so much w/Peterson..even though I agree he is very talented..just not much buzz factor there even though that's not the point of a team's selection..) My favorite QB choice would be Colin Kaepernick in the 2nd as I just love everything that I read and see on him. Jake Locker is interesting and has a strong arm along with Kaepernick and Mallett. Mallett is interesting, and I have to figure if his personal problems/potential drug use would merit exclusion? Dalton is intersting but not as high on my list as the other 3. Now, some of this comes down to personal preference and who you form a sportfan like bond with at least to some degree, and I just have not formed that like for C. Ponder! It's probably not even justified, but I have no interest in him and only have marginal knowledge of his accomplishments. The things I have heard about him is that he is often injured and struggles to sense the presence of pocket pressure or realizing where the pressure is coming from which leads to his continual battle with injuries. I know that he has battled injuries and played with some as well. One of my 2011 NFL Draft guides actually compare him as they do all your higher rated players with Trent Edwards in his abiilities and performance. That alone for me was the end of the road which seemed as like a deadend before I started to travel down it and explore! So the first two picks I anticipate the Bills will select are not really my favorites but on Von Miller's part I'm okay with it as I recognize the talent, but with Ponder, I hope the Bills ponder a little harder and decide to seek their QB of the future elsewhere!!!
  6. Okay here it goes and for a few reasons: Ryan Kerrigan DE !!!! The reasoning behind it is that Ryan Kerrigan actually visited the Bills and is slated by most to go somewhere in the first round (mid to late).. Also I have Kerigan slated at #16 and you know who that is don't you? Why, it's the Jacksonville Jaguars who ironically picked Tyson Ahwannaspellitright! Kerrigan being a defensive end actually would be a good fit and capable in the Bills defensive scheme! ohoh...Stranger things have happened! Just ask any Bills draft fan... hmmm, I'll have to talk to my cabbie friend in NYC !!
  7. Why Gabbert? He wasn't even in first round consideration until Andrew Luck failed to declare. He not only hasn't proved anything at the NFL level, but really hasn't proved much at the Collegiate level. His attributes all stems mostly from intangibles. He has ideal height and weight, is well liked, has good command of the huddle and is a pretty accurate QB. Those attributes are all good and show potential, but hardly worthy of a 1st round selection, let alone top 10 pick! If Andrew Luck was in this draft Cam Newton nor Blaine Gabbert would even have a remote chance to be considered as the top QB in the draft! Gabbert would be at least the third best available on the board and for my money the 2nd best available QB on the board right now is Colin Kaepernick who is slotted by most to be a 2nd round QB. One other thing for my money if Marcell Dareus is there, you take him! Our biggest flaw amongst many is that we cannot stop the run and Dareus plays and is built to stop the run and still can sack the QB. Von Miller is not built to stop the run, he may sack the QB...but he is undersized for the task of plugging up the middle. Just my take! Enjoy the draft! Oh yeah...regardless of my feelings I think the cabby in NY will call for Von Miller! Remember that when it happens!
  8. I'd love to get Marcell Dareus at #3 and Colin Kaepernick at pick#34 in the second round. I'd like the Bills to move back in the 2nd round which may cost them their 3rd rounder, the second of their 4th rounders and their compensatory 7th rounder. With that second 2nd round pick I'd love for them to select either TE Kyle Rudolph or Derek Sherrod OT which supposedly the Bills really like. Quan Sturdivant LB is another player that the Bills like and had him in for a visit recently. In all honesty I'd be tickled pink though if we got Dareus and consider it a bonus to get Kaepernick in the 2nd !!! laughing to myself..as I think about the Maybin blunder which I was so p%^^#d off about as they passed on Orakapo! I was just as flabbergasted when they selected C.J. Spiller last year! They've passed on Clay Matthews, H. Ngata, B. Orakapo!!! I'm not a paid expert but I felt like those would be guys to draft! Now my blood is pumping and I'm not laughing anymore...Your right they better not blank it up!!!! Go with M. Dareus...if he's gone maybe V.Miller...outside chance Fairley but lots of red flags there, but he could be an impact player...same with Da'quan Bowers if his injury heals properly! Just don't take a WR, CB, RB, S, OT with that #3 pick! QB? Yikes..I'm not inclined to take one there! If they do they better make 100 percent sure they got the right guy! We don't need the next Edwards, Lossman, Holbert, Rob Johnson, etc......
  9. So did Wilt Chamberlin, and he wasn't a half-bad basketball player. So did President Bill Clinton and he turned out to become the President of the United States. So what does that mean? I partied a lot when I was 20 and ended up doing 20 honorable years of service in the Navy. Amen! I could be wrong..but I think you won't be able to do that concerning Dareus...but it's possible with V. Miller and I'd be great with that! Great point by the way!
  10. I can see the Bills doing that, and I can see us paying for that mistake for several years! Sure, I would be excited...everyone would be...it's a high profile..glamorous pick! Heck even Cam Newton will be excited and talking about Cam in the third person with his big hollywood type persona. Even if we get'em I see him here..and then I see him disappear! I see him as a player that will be hard to resign near the end of his first contract. I see holdouts, trade demands, possibly doing a McGahee denouncing Buffalo's nightlife and entertainment options. I think it would be a huge mistake! Also..One of the QB trainers that worked exclusively with many QB's over the years and has seen it all recently disclosed in his interview that Colin Kaepernick who is likely a 2nd rounder is athletically more gifted than Cam newton. He worked with both QB's in preparation for the combine etc....He said that Colin Kaepernick is faster, more NFL ready, more mature, etc....he thinks that Kaepernick has more upside and will flourish at the next level. He wasn't saying that because of some sort of allegiance to Kaepernick or anything either..as he has family connections with Cam Newton and is very familiar with him. Here is my pick for the Bills at #3... Marcell Dareus if available, if not then Von Miller. One of the two will be there! Cam Newton will probably be in either Carolina or Denver and that's just how that cookie crumbles. Thank Goodness!
  11. I have wanted Dareus as our selection for a while now...I picked Von Miller (whom is intriguing as well..) because I don't think Marcell Dareus will be there at #3. If somehow Dareus slides down to us...all I have to say is that we better select him as that's a gift just like Orakapo was when he slid to the Bills and we instead selected Aaron Maybin. I think there is about 30 percent chance that Dareus is available at #3 as I think one of the first two teams to select will select a QB. There is also a good chance that someone may move up to the 1st or 2nd slot to select a QB which would increase the odds of us landing Dareus. I like that Dareus is more stout than Fairley and provides a better anchor. He excells in all facets of the game and still can get to the QB often while taking up space and slowing down the opponents run game. He's just built bigger than Fairley and in my opinion less of a risk when it comes to off the field behavior. Fairley is also known for taking the occasional play off which is not something that Dareus does. Dareus seems to eat, breathe, and live football sort of how the Great Lou Gehrig was in his relationship with baseball! I hope the Bills have the opportunity to select Dareus, and would be foolish to pass on him if given that opportunity! (But we've watched that rerun before!)
  12. I'm with you! I did pick Von Miller as the #3 pick in my mock..only because I think that is the route the Bills will go if Marcell Dareus is already gone, and no trade scenario unfolds! I don't prefer the pick as I want a run stuffer foremost, but I'm hoping that it works out and Miller's stats are duplicated at the NFL level. I worry about him being just a tad on the smallish side even though he is very strong. The big concern to me is drafting Ponder. I am just not down with it even though I've been practically scolded for expressing my view(s). I know I've seen some of the NFL Draft magazines for 2011 and the player they most closely compare C. Ponder to is.............TRENT EDWARDS! This is not me making this up..it actually does say that and I have one of the issues that does..I can pass on that info if anyone doubts it. Ponder is often injured and I credit him for playing through some of the injuries, but it's just his lack of pocket awareness that sometimes gets him creamed! (and injured..) He has some ability, but I just don't want him! I will be upset if that's the way we go! I'll take Kaepernick in the 2nd though!
  13. Just curious as to who you think the top 3 picks will really be? Plus I'd like to extend the life of this topic if possible because the draft is coming fast..so maybe another frew posts will keep my mock alive a little longer..lol I know we need LB's as well..but I think we need to follow a QB in the 3rd with a OT... I really think it would be wise this year to trade down to the 5-10 range for the right compensation. With the potential of Fairley and Da'Quan Bowers sliding some you could pick up a game breaking impact player while adding a extra early 2nd rounder+ picks! What do you think about the prospects of possibly trading down a few spots?
  14. I agree with you about drafting a QB in the 2nd round vice first! Excellent opinion that I share with you! I would like for Colin Kaepernick to be on the board when we select in the 2nd round which is pretty likely, but I do expect an early run on QB's that are reaches in the 1st round. We all know that Gabbert and Newton will be gone, but due to team needs in Minnesota, and Washington I anticipate that possibly Locker and Mallett may also be taken in the first round. I like that Colin Kaepernick may have the strongest arm of all the QB's available. Also Locker and Mallett have strong arms as well. I know that the same QB Trainer that worked with Cam Newton in the past also is working with Colin Kaepernick currently and say's that Colin is the better athlete, and moves faster...He also mentioned that Kaepernick is the most NFL ready QB of this lot. I think that he still will require a mininum of 1 year of learning our system so this will be perfect in my opinion. Kaepernick set records during his collegiate career and really has a lot of potential. I'm hoping he's the pick!!! Now if we can get Dareus to stop the run..(but I think he'll be gone)...and if not then I'd settle for Von Miller at OLB. What do you think about all that?
  15. You may be right...I struggled to select Ayers where I did..but I kept reading from multiple sources about how Detroit really likes him a lot...and that he is a very good fit with his skillset, so I went with it. It's something I'll look a little closer at it and do a little re-evaluation when I get a little time as I prefer to be as on the money as possible in this multiple guessing game called the mock draft. I don't know Torrey Smith the person, but I do know that there is a big variance in the draft order at Wide Receiver. I've seen a lot of draft manuals put Titus Young right up there in the top few picks and the same with Randall Cobb, and then I'll look elsewhere and see them rated as the 8-12th best receivers. So it's confusing as the opinions vary greatly out there, and it's not only based on stats in College as some players project higher due to the intangibles, or rank lower because of injuries they sustained late in their college careers even though the stats were there. Some receivers that performed are undersized and not as tall as you would like. I know that A.J. Green and Julio Jones are better receivers to date, but I've seen Torrey Smith ranked as high as the third receiver on the board. So again, I'll have to look into it and adjust if necessary. Regardless of where my final draft projections take me I do appreciate your opinion as it helps to make me more focused on providing the best mock I can for everyone's entertainment or to line their birdcage with if they disagree on my whole mock..lol Thanks! Thanks...Starting with Mel Kiper..Todd McShay...so on and so on...we get the anticipated order drilled in our heads! That's why I tried to get off that boat and get on my one person raft and hope to stay afloat! Each year that I stay with the popular assumptions I don't fair too well at my Mock! So hopefully this year I will hit the first 5 or at least 3 of 5 ! You never know, it's a crap shoot and that's why I looked strongly at the needs of each team prior to even thinking about the players that I would fill those needs with. Also, there is no guarantee that since the last snap that the players that were at the top of mocks and then slid drastically will be selected according to our mocks. That is why I would not be surprised if Nick Fairley or Da'Quan Bowers ended up being selected in the top 5 picks of the draft or higher! I know Da'Quan Bowers is recovering from an injury and Dareus lifted weights better than Fairley did at the combine/pro day thing, but I'd be happy to have either of those guys on the Bills roster! Thanks for your feedback it's appreciated! ] I'm back to add something.. It also would not shock me if Carolina did take Newton, and Denver did take Gabbert! I then would grab Marcell Dareus DT and would be tickled red, white, and blue!!!!!! Go Bills
  16. Your guess is as good as mine...but I guess they can keep him and let'em compete for a job, or they can trade him after the players are back in business and not locked out anymore. It's been widely speculated that John Elway really wants Cam Newton! Thanks! I worked hard on it...I'm not all excited about selecting Von Miller, as a QB or WR is a more flashy pick. But, I guess when he's on his tenth sack of the season I'll feel great about the pick. Your right...Colin is a gamer...and the trainer he is working with also worked with Cam Newton at some point..and the personal trainer that works exclusively with QB's said that Colin Kaepernick is faster, and a better athlete and he just couldn't stop praising just how game ready Kaepernick is and how much better he is than Cam Newton. I hope he's right! I hope we take'em too! The only other two QB's that interest me if we don't is either Jake Locker or Ryan Mallett. Despite their shortcomings or in Malletts case questionable behavior, I think both have very strong arms that could work in Buffalo's conditions. The other knock on Mallett is he is somewhat slow and is purely a pocket passer similar to Drew Blesdoe. If Marcel Dareus slides to us at number 3 though..I would take'em over Von Miller though as stopping the run is in my opinion are biggest flaw as a team! Thanks for your kind words..
  17. Tony's one and only 1st round Mock draft with bonus first 2 picks in 2nd round! This is my updated and greatly changed mock that I posted a couple of months ago. I have done constant analysis, looking extensively at all the NFL Draft publications that are out there, looking at a lot of video of the draftees on various sites including FFTOOLBOX.COM which is a super resource. As I have progressed as a draft guru wannabe (lol) I have learned before you worry about other mock drafts, analyzing all the talent in the draft pool, all the red flags etc...the first thing that I did was figure out the needs of each team. It also requires you to analyze how much greater a positional need may be compared to the same team's 2nd need. Sometimes a team's greatest need is also similar in need to their second need. ie: The Bills greatest need is to stop the run! The Bills have a lot of other needs, but no need is greater than stopping the run, including QB. I'd like a QB of course, but barring a major difference in the best player available when it's our turn at the podium..I'd have to say that stopping the run should take precedence over all else. Unfortunately, sometimes your player isn't there when it's your turn, and I strongly believe that will be the case at #3. I could go on for hours about drafting, as it's much more than just a hobby for me, it's a way of life, and it's a passion. I hope the passion the Buffalo Bills display in this 2011 NFL Draft will reflect the same spirit I have, and bring the team good fortune in both the immediate and long term future! Now here is the long awaited 1st round draft..... 1st round pick# Team Player Position 1 Carolina Marcell Dareus DT 2 Denver Cam Newton QB 3 Buffalo Von Miller OLB 4 Cincy A.J. Green WR 5 Arizona Blaine Gabbert QB 6 Cleveland Nick Fairley DT 7 San Fran. Patrick Peterson CB 8 Tennesee Robert Quinn DE 9 Dallas Da'Quan Bowers DE 10 Washington Jake Locker QB 11 Houston Prince Amukamara CB 12 Minnesota Ryan Mallett QB 13 Detroit Akeem Ayers LB 14 ST.Louis Julio Jones WR 15 Miami Mark Ingram RB 16 Jacksonville Ryan Kerrigan DE 17 New England Cameron Jordan DE 18 San Diego Aldon Smith DE 19 NY Giants Mike Pouncey C 20 Tampa Bay JJ Watt DE 21 K.City Gabe Carimi OT 22 Indy Anthony Castonzo OT 23 Philad. Brandon Harris CB 24 New Orleans Adrian Clayborn DE 25 Seattle Tyron Smith OT 26 Baltimore Torrey Smith WR 27 Atlanta Titus Young WR 28 New England Justin Houston OLB 29 Chicago Nate Solder OT 30 NY Jets Bruce Carter OLB 31 Pittsburgh Marcus Cannon OT 32 Green Bay Corey Liuget DT Round #2 (1st 2 picks for now..) 33 New England Cameron Heyward DE 34 Buffalo Colin Kaepernick QB So that's it for now..the first 34 picks...more will be coming...complete comments ahead as well. This mock is fluid and always evolving. No mock is perfect, and actually no NFL Draft is perfect by a long shot ie: Mike Williams, Ryan Leaf, Aaron Maybin, and many other busts! I will get some picks right, and I will get some picks wrong! Some players will never pan out and others may be stars of tomorrow! Informed with knowledge you just want to enhance your ability to hopefully pick'em better than the next team does! I've done my homework, there are several reaches..especially at QB! I'm aware of this..as a run on a positon makes teams that have a player in mind jump the gun to ensure they get their guy! I think that will be the case with Jake Locker, and Ryan Mallett. Defensive ends were flying off the board which is not surprising to me! There was good value in WR's and RB's as the skill positons were slow to come off the board. Obviously I feel that Marcell Dareus is the best choice in the draft and wished the Bills could've selected him! (you never know..) I think Denver quietly wants Cam Newton more than Carolina does, but I wouldn't be surprised if Carolina did select Cam Newton either. Remember one deviation from the anticpated selection a team makes can and will effect the slotting and selections across the board! This was fun, this was difficult to get to a point where I feel I am close to having a very good to excellent mock! I would appreciate your feedback if you have a chance as improvement can always be made. Happy Drafting!!!
  18. I was so mad when the Bills passed on a gift like Orakapo and selected Aaron Maybin..it's one of those moments that you remember exactly where you were...your reaction...and it was not pretty, but at least I like my new T.V. so much better than the old one! lol Oh yeah...one more thing..I can't watch this video as I remember it and can't afford to replace my computer monitor!
  19. I'm trying to be an optimist here so I went 7-9...but most likely it'll be 6-10 IMO.. Wins Oakland (H) Cincy (A) Wash (at Toronto) Dallas (A) Tenn (H) Miami (H) Denver (H) Some interesting things with my prediction would be that the Bills would actually have a 5-3 record at home (even though I'm reluctant to include Toronto as a home game!) Of my list of 7 wins, probably the toughest win would be on the road at Dallas! Not because Dallas may be slightly better than the Bills, but more so because it's a difficult venue to play in and our history isn't too good against the Cowboys! The most winnable game I have as a loss would be at home against the Jets as we often take one game against the Jets and although they are a better football club we could take the home game! After starting the season with a dismal 2-4 record I have the Bills 5-5 in the final 10 games of the season (providing there is a 16 game season!) If the Bills are going to make a New Year's resolution as a team for 2012 they could start by beating New England on New Years day! What a opportunity and good sign that we are headed in the right direction as a organization if we could pull that off! It may work in our favor that the Patriots may be resting their players if they have everything clinched for the playoffs by the time we play in New England. It's nice finally to have a home game late in the Season against Miami! I'll be hoping for snow that day even though Ricky Williams has ran wild on us before in the snow! (That's if Ricky is still on the Dolphins squad, and isn't smoking some wacky tobacco and singing kumbahyah by then!)I still like my chances in that game!
  20. I realize we all have different opinions and your entitled to yours...but I'm jumping in here and adding my 2 cents worth..lol....Anyways, I think Nucci's leak of the home and away uniforms are thorougly awesome! There isn't a nicer shade of blue that is more accurate! These colors are true Buffalo Bills colors! I think the uniforms are perfection at it's finest! I'm one picky person too! I don't like more things than I do like! I only like 3 restaurants on earth to date I'm so picky! And as picky as I am, I have nothing to complain about at all and know suggestions to improve both of these leaked uniforms! The only thing that worries me is that these uniforms may not be the real deal? I don't know if they are valid or not, but if they are not someone better rush them up to Ralph Wilson by FEDEX, and have Mr. Wilson put on his glasses and examine them immediately! These uniforms are fantastic looking and a thousand times better than what they currently wear on game day!!!!!!!! Go Bills!
  21. I didn't like the uniform that we opened this topic on...but the one you revealed is astounding!!!! This would be the perfect Bills uniform in my opinion, and I would not change a thing!!! What a nice shade of blue!!! This better be the uniforms they are changing to because anything else would fall short!!! 5 Thumbs Up..!!! I love both the uniforms you revealed today...but how would one come across those pics and be in the know that these would be the uniforms? That would require some inside personal knowledge or a darn good connection? Sure hope I'm not being led astray as no other uniform leaks have caught my interest until now!!!
  22. I like that your doing something different! I see 3 possiblities here: 1. Cedrick Thornton DT Southern Arkansas- even though he is somewhat outside the radar I think he has good potential and think that Buddy Nix's scouting roots may lead to this pick if he isn't gone by then... 2. I am also very intrigued with Lee Smith who is technically a TE with the physical tools to strongly consider converting Smith to an OT. (Jason Peters project #2 ?) 3. Josh Thomas CB Buffalo Bulls..Have had some recent luck in Buffalo Bulls players. If not drafted look for a rookie free agent signing. 4. If all else fails, may be the spot to consider a PK/P as I believe their is a dropoff in the kicking department/ special teams unit. Also, many kickers/punters can be brought in as rookie free agents as well.
  23. Interesting Post! I just wanted to add a couple things that are on my mind and related... 1. I quite possibly may be mistaken, but I thought I read somewhere that besides not having the ability to move players on your roster for draft trades that you also could not involve future year picks as part of a trade neither. So what I am thinking I read is that all trades have to involve solely picks in the current year unless the CBA is resolved prior to the draft. 2. Buddy Nix stated something to the effect that he does not use the draft trade chart that some of the posters are referring to (or at least use it exclusively)... I believe he said that if he likes the trade and both parties agree then he'll make it, if not he wont. I think he even gave an example of a first round trade down for a first rounder and the other teams 2nd rounder, but no other additional picks in that scenario. It seemed as though he may be content with a trade that netted less valute than the chart indicated.
  24. This post is short and sweet and exactly what I was thinking prior to reading it! Last year even with the same defense and a upgraded O-Line, and WR's they probably would've won another 4 games! If the Bills select Marcell Dareus in the 1st and couple of linebackers, DE, that are all impact players we could do some damage!
