What's the ''secret story'' behind this?

'Bills equipment manager Dave Hojnowski has been fired by the team. Hojnowski was one of the longest-tenured employees in the organization, and was in his 35th year. The Bills had no comment on Hojnowski other than to confirm he no longer is employed by the team. He had been working with the club throughout training camp and preseason. The move apparently came last week. The Bills' equipment staff is headed by Jeff Mazurek, director of equipment operations, and includes two assistant managers.'

Ralph is cheap

They will settle out of court as the employer was in the wrong as that is disccrimination on the bills part especially if they brought a younger person in to take his job so it comes down to what they both agree on and he will get more now as oppose to what they offered him and good for him as this stuff happens alot around crappy corporate America !

Seriously, that's good use of a run-on sentence. It totally works.

Really? Hmmm.... we've not heard the Bills side of this and you are calling this age discrimination? Whether or not he was replaced by someone younger, is not an indicator.... I mean, if you can someone that is old, why would you replace that person with someone the same age or older? Also, if age discrimination is your case, why do the Bills employ a 74 year old GM? Hojnowski may have been too old school and resistant to a lot of changes.... we don't know. But, I can tell you, having witnessed organizational changes first hand, longer term employees get canned first and for more than their salaries or age. The biggest reason is they have a hard time grasping changes that are significant and come in waves. These changes, in many cases are not communicated well and many of them don't seem to make sense to them. It is also a question of their skill set and their ability to be flexible and upwardly mobile.

As one who "knows someone", there is more to this story. Hojo has only himself to blame for his current unemployment with the Buffalo Bills.

Don't lose sight of the fact that there were a handful of NFL equipment managers let go by their teams, around the same time....

Or helmets, jerseys...the kinds of things that people like us pay $100's of dollars for, on-line...

But how would someone of his age know about the Internet?

I maintain, Ralph, chan, and buddy must've got together and realized that old people just couldn't competently manage in the nfl.

So Buddy screwed over 'Hojo'? Further shows what a worthless POS he is,

You can in NC.

Yep. NC is a right to work state with a hardcore labor board. It is easy to figure anyone for anything in this state without a reason. Not lay off, but fire. I work in a blue collar job with furniture. There are dozens of men and women in their 60's and 70's still working because they cannot afford to retire and they still do not make enough to get penalized from the SSA. So, these people are 100% yes men/women. They will work last minute Sundays if only told 5 minutes before quiting time Sunday, cancelling all of their plans or what not. They do whatever it takes to keep them a job because they know it'd take a fly farting beside them to get fired.

Without taking this thread PPP, it was very confusing moving down South and learning about Right to Work states, and what that means.
