Punished for front loading contracts in uncapped year.

Adam Schefter

Cowboys lose $10 million in cap space, Redskins lose $36 million in space. Can split it over 2012 and 2013 any way they want. More at ESPN.

Adam Schefter

All that money goes to 28 other teams -- $1.6 million each -- except for Saints and Raiders, who don't get any but don't lose any.

...the Redskins now have no draft picks and no money either haha

I guess you haven't heard. They traded up for RGIII. They've been already awarded the Super Bowl win.

"Redskins will not be outbid for Vincent Jackson"

except of course......if they get pickpocketed for $30 million on the way to the auction.

Serves them right. Trying to cheat the system.

The two most valuable franchises in the NFL trying to cut corners.....good job NFL. Stick it to them.

Dude we have 32.4M of free space THIS YEAR? No excuses Bills...bring in some talent for God's sake!

Git'er dun!

(Seriously guys, we've waited long enough. Get us some players, some wins, and we'll show you a ridiculous amount of ZOMG support that no team has seen in a long time.)

so the uncapped year was actually capped. really the salary floor is all that disappeared?

There's got to be more to it...like maybe front-loading the contracts was done in a way that was illegal or something.

Fat lot of good it did the Skins. Ralph and Snyder get the same results almost every year, but Ralph does it for half the price.

Now we know why the Redskins didn't mind giving up all those draft picks for the #2 this year.

Sarcasm? Nothing could have gone worse for the Skins after trading away their future. Now they also dont have the cap space to bring in guys around their young QB.

I hope RG3 can do it all himself, with no OL and no weapons...

That being said, they cant make the deal official until tomorrow. Wonder if they dont back out??

Yeah, that.

ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported that the Redskins and Cowboys each have been docked cap space for using the uncapped 2010 season to dump salary and front-load contracts, which the league instructed teams not to do.

Wonder if Jerrah and Danny would vote to extend the commish's contract if the vote were taken today.

I predict that RG3 will be this generation's Barry Sanders or Dan Marino. Great players that never had a good enough team around them.

Disagree about Marino. His play led to early end of career for several running backs and several offense lineman spent many plays trying to cover up his lack of mobility and pocket presence.
