I dont know about you guys....but out of everybody to ahve a good game

I truly beleive that Moates was and now is the best pass rushing OLB we have...and I dont think its close.

- Its not because of what he did to the ageless one.....even though that was a heck of a hit on Farve

- EVERY time Moates gets on the field....he is bearing down on a QB....nearly EVERY single time.

Please bills....you have made so many great decisions this year its time to make one more... Moates needs to be a starter. If you want to play Batten or a hybrid on obvious short yardage stuff fine but let Moates do his thing.....the one thing that is really hurting this defense more then anything else is lack of pass rush.

And.....its time for Shepp as well

I hope Moats has a great game too. Thankfully Chan & co. have stopped the ILB experiment with him, and let him play at a more natural position.

If Moats becomes the starter then so be it. But I still think that Merriman can be used and helpful as a leader and situational pass rusher. Also the Bills do a lot of switching players on defense, which helps to keep players fresh.

I'd be all for Moats being our primary situational pass rusher and yes, I hope he becomes a sack meister.

I'm not thinking that his overall game justifies him supplanting Kelsay or Merriman as a starter just yet.

While no coaching staff is infallible, I have a high degree of trust in this one. Seems like they make many more right decisions than wrong ones.

I've got news for you... Moats may or may not tear it up, but he is clearly the best ROLB on the Bills right now. The "lights" have been turned "out" on Mr. Merriman. And, on the other side, Batten is clearly a better option at LOLB than Kelsay. Keeping guys around just because they're nice guys, good effort guys, or good locker room guys is stupid... and with Merriman and Kelsay taking up a combined $10m/yr. cap space, it's totally insane.

Yeah...keeping quality locker room vets with leadership ability and strong bull rushing abilities is stupid! C'mon man, read your posts before you press enter!

I think that Moats and Batten will become stalwarts for the Bills for a long time. I would prefer to have a healthy Merriman on the field but when he's ailing too much then Moats should be in gaining xp, causing havoc and giving Merriman a healthy respite. We honestly have many good problems here.

I too am glad Moats is back on the outside--I think he has the tools and speed to play that well. Recall the screen pass in the 4th quarter to the Eagles D. jackson, because of his speed, Moats was able to snuff that out and stop him by himself for no gain. That play alone against one of the fastest people in the NFL, testifies to his athletic abilities.

However, I do understand the the idea of moving him inside. He has good size, and if you can put that speed in the middle and give him the ability to rome from sideline to sideline, all the better. But it didn't work, I suspect there was too much thinking going on and when players think, they become slow. Moreover, with the emergence of Sheppard and Chris Whilte (and the less than pro-bowl performance of Merriman), it was determined he could be better utilized back on the outside.

I think within a year our starting linebackers will include Batten, Moats, Sheppard, and White -- Barnett will probably hold his job, but these four give us a promising future over the next few years.

You're right on point with this one. Kelsay and Merriman have a better all around game at this point, but Moats is a beast as a rush specialist. Lets hope at about 5PM on sunday Eli is sitting in the locker room wondering what hit him.

I doubt that seriously. Given Merriman's troubles, I think it's a given they draft an OLB very high next year. Whoever that guy is will start over Moats or Batten.

On the inside, agree Barnett should remain a starter for a few years. I don't see White taking over anytime soon if ever. Sheppard will be starting soon though - probably by the end of this year.
