Give the guy a chance. Many of us will do both (Hate the Bills but give him a chance). There is clearly a problem when the top 8 GM and coaching candidates turn the Bills down. The Bills have done a lot of things the past 10 years to give the whole league, AND it's fan base, the perception they don't have a clue. Nix and Gailey will do NOTHING to dispel those notions... unless results are seen on the field. I predict ticket-holders are about to abandon the Bills in droves... but I also think that many Bills fans will remain loyal and will be begging for some... This move is going to kill the franchise in Buffalo. Season tickets will drop by 15-30% this year. No real FAs are going to come here with this. Are you serious? They are going to stink out of the box because they still won't have a QB which will kill any remaining vibe to sell any more tickets next year. By the end of next year the buzzards will already be circling as ESPN constantly shows an empty Ralph with a 3-13 team. Ralph isn't going to live long enough to fix this one and the epic fail that is about to ensue will kill off the fanbase so as to remove any valid arguments against leaving. All I ever read was "informed sources" or "a knowledgeable source says," that sort of crap. Even with Brian Schottenheimer there was no confirmed request for the interview he supposedly turned down. In his case, a rumor was started that he was high on the Bills list, so reporters asked him if he was going to interview. He said he was happy with the Jets. At no time did the Bills say a word about inviting him in. And neither did he say he was invited. Buddy Nix said in his press conference that Gailey was the ONLY candidate he offered the job to. My first Bills game was back at the rockpile, so I've been around awhile. But this is it. As DC Tom posted above, I'm taking my Sunday's back. I wish you (suckers) the best with the laughingstock of the league. This gives me no joy, mind you. I have had too much invested emotionally over the years to let this team go without a fight, but it's time to move on. The sad part is that I will most likely still lurk here on the board, watching the train wreck this group has become with mild interest. But ultimately, F*** the Bills! This from a lifelong fan. A story about a baseball teams young female owner's attempt to create a team so distasteful to the fans that it would justify moving the team to another city. The team realizing they are a bunch of second rate losers, rally around each other and win the penant. In our case seriously doubt we'll get the happy ending that the movie provided. I still swear at the Tv when they screw up. Feel ill on Monday mormings when they lose. It's almost like a marriage. For better or worst but you still have your arguments with your spouse but still love them. I'am not about to divorce them. If the Bills died (MOVED) I would grieve deeply. Lets hope the guys who do this football stuff know more then us. Lets hope Nix gets Gaily the horses ala Polian. As my dear MOM used to say. It will be all right. I wrote Chan Gailey a letter after his press conference and "talked" about a vision of igniting this team again into a true Super Bowl winner! Silly me, but you know what, I did this with Bill Polian, so I said to him (Gailey) that this is a watershed day in the history of Bills football. Try a little persistance in the never ending babble of "should I stay or should I go" garbage! Look at New Orleans, every dog has its day people, so I FULLY expect the Bills to return to prominance some day and frankly, I think it'll be soon!!
